I got the banana scythe from that mission in NF but i don't understand the dmg. rating on it. 10-10? Someone told me its basically max dmg but i don't understand. Could someone help me please.

that means it does 10 dmg per attack if you meet the requirment.

It's just a novelty item which always hits for 10 dmg, same as the Christmas weapons. Not really designed for people to actually, use, just a bit of fun :)

Weapons like the Banana Scythe have no real purpose, though people have used the Wintersday weapons (which also deal 10-10 damage) to test various aspects of game mechanics. Since they always deal the same damage, you can use them to determine how armor actually affects damage, for instance.
Still, if you're actually going into battle, a pointed stick is a MUCH more effective weapon than a banana.

It is mentioned above that this is about as useful as a pointy stick!!!
I am a lev 20 w/mo with high stats for strength, tactics and axe. I also use a totem axe (max dam). Some enemies, when I attack them, receive less than 10 damage per hit. A good example are the droughtings in Elona where usually the damage is around 3-7.
Surely the banana stick will be better in these circumstances???

I found it interesting how they incorperated "Snakes on a Plane" into the story. And to add to the humor of the quest (as well as Koss' reaction to the drakes), they throw in a banana on a stick.
Quite interesting, if I do say so myself.
