Scam: How to report?

Just as the title says, i got scammed and how can i report the player who did this?

I Hope that some1 can answer this question...and that no1 of you got scammed :)

I hope you made a screen or something of that, or els there is no way to prove it. You can report someone at the GW main site, but I can't find any link where to do it. Hopefully someone els replies that for you ;)

I think so, I don't report that much (I don't trade that much either). Very weird no admin is jumping on this ^^ No offence though.

If your talking about a gold switch, for example you were going to sell someone an item for 5,000 gold and they put 5 gold in the trade window, your pretty much s.o.l. even with screenshots its likely nothing will be done about it since they changed the gold display in the window to actually say X,000. kinda like if you report someone cussing you out anet tells you to use the ignore feature. Just be more careful in the future. Make sure you check the ammount if your selling and if your buying an item, hover over it to make sure its what you want and not a look-a-like in a bait and switch scam. Thats the best advice I can give ya.

Finaly some reactions! =D

Just wanted to add this:
-I've played Runescape a long while before I found out GW, and they just have a "report" button. There you can put in the players name and than click the type on how he scammed (bug abuse, trade scam, etc.). Than it sends a little movie of 1 minute to Jagex (the creators) and they will decide if they ban the player, give him a black vote or something like that.
Maybe a nice in GW, and they should also add a PM about what they have done to him/her so you can feel the nice "revenge" feeling ^^

EDIT: There was also an option with "offensive language", if noobs call you a noob, report them and they get prob banned..

What exacly was the nature of the scam? (Details if you could please)

I'm always on the lookout for any scams to keep myself protected. Outside of that, I'm very paranoid when dealing with anyone I don't know (personally, that is) and always double check things.

Few More Tips:
-Never let someone 'rush' you into a buy/sell/trade. If they are content, they will deal with the wait. Just don't make them wait forever though.
-Examine EVERYTHING. Double check the Gold Value, the Items in the window, even the name of the other Player. Hell, you could select the wrong person sometimes and never know.
-My personal rule, always go with your instincts. If it feels like a scam, then just say 'No Thanks' and walk away. Take a few minutes away from the game if you need. (I've been burnt by not listening to this before. And probably last night as well [sold -50 Grim Cesta for 3K])

I think most of us have been scammed in a way. I guess it's just a part of "growing up in the game." I am over cautious now after being scammed on a UW run by a bot...

Sorry to hear about this. Hopefully it wasn't for huge amounts of gold or items.

I was doing a dual UW run. I was the SS and he (the Bot) was the 55. We got through the Aataxes and Squiddies at the beginning. Then along the route towards the smites, he ran past the Aataxes, in a narrow portion of the route and I was left either to die or quit. He continued on farming the smites and remaining Aataxes... I watched him for a while, took SSs, including those of the same response given to someone trying to join his party and then submitted them to ANet. I don't see him on anymore.

More and more I'm glad I have 4-6 real life friends and family playing along with me. That way I know I'm not getting screwed.

Thanks for the information. (Never knew it costed to get into UW or FoW).

A good guild will help you out with watching out for scams too. That and you won't need to be looking for a partner for UW that way - at least that's what I find.

It was about 50K but a friend said that is was my punishment because i allready have alot of money ^^

I just go on with GW and watch everything much better when i trade something, it was a good lesson :)

ah, lost noob it may be a good lesson but its still not fair man...this happened to me and man i wanted destroy his account lol, but noting ever happened i didnt report or anything and i let go, it was only over like 3k if this is a constant thing for him, as he may scam ALOT of people all the time, then wait till he does it to an employee of anet :D

lol i remember when i joined Gameamp back before the flamming rules, i started a thread on spammers and scammers, i got flammed out pretty much
