What servers do you like best and why?

Just wondering what servers people like the best and for what reason? I have heard some say that Virtue is the unoffical RP server. So how did it get that name? Triumph is the server that gameamp uses. Why that one above all others? Just curious and bored at work. So I thought I would ask :P

well, the servers got their names from the devs chosing heroistic sounding terms.

i think virtue became the unofficial RP server because some RPers just started there and others joined them and they grew.

i'm guessin triumph is the gameamp server cause it just got picked.

but my main server now is triumph just cause i know a lot of other ampers are on there and its more fun to play with people you know than with strangers.

My 1st server was Champion. Had some toons there and then I found Gameamp. So I jumped to Triumph, which is my current regular server. I also have a full roster on Victory. I chose Victory because I know some people that play there.

The friend that turned me on to CoX was already on Liberty, so of course that's where I ended up. Even though she quit playing a long time ago, all my toons are still there. I just prefer to keep all my toons on the same server. If they ever allow transfers, I might take everyone over to Triumph to play with the ampers.

Well I should probably answer my own question.

My main server is liberty. Reason is that was the one I picked first :) I am leader of an SG that I just kind of inherited. I have toons on other servers but havent played them much. I have all my villians on Victory (once again because that was what I started them on) but they are not very high. I have friends on Liberty but they dont seem to play much anymore. Only the wifey does. And then she usually falls asleep while in the middle of a mish with me ROFL.

So I usually play solo and play the characters that I like the concepts for.

I need to make more friends. :(

Virtue would be my favorite due to being the unofficial RP server.

I get Roleplayer PUGs there. That's awesome.

Yeah Triumph is the "unofficial official" server for Gameamp and well, it was chosen because that was the server that thejeni and I were playing on at that time.

Triumph is now my server w/ a villain on Pinnacle. I choose Triumph by sheer randomness. But it now home. It may not be the best but I say its the best because thats where most of us are or play at times.

A PUG is a Pick-Up Group.

A Pick up group of or containing roleplayers is an astounding thing to me. I didn't think it was possible before.

I started on Freedom...because it was at the top of my list when I first logged on. I got 2 toons into the 20s on there. Then decided to jump to Triumph because of all the people here that were playing there.

I then tried out Victory for a while because some other friends of mine were playing there and had a SG there, although I lost interest as many of them stopped playing, so I came back to Triumph. I do, however, have random toons scattered across all the servers, but the only ones I play more than once are on Triumph.

Triumph all the way. I used to play on Freedom because when I got the game it was the second one from the bottom. I thought to myself, "The top and bottom ones are probably what everyone picks, so I will go with the second from the bottom." because I didnt want to be on an overcrowded server. As it turned out Freedom was the most crowded one. Just when I was about to give up on the game, CoV came out and I made a villain on Triumph, because thats where the Gameamp Villain Group was going to be. Since then its been pretty much all triumph, switching back to heroes when the GAA was formed.

I need to start playing more on other servers to try them out. Virtue has me intrigued. Altho I am curious to know what the Roleplaying definition is for this game. I think I know what you mean but thought I would ask to be sure. I used to play Heroes Unlimited with some buddies in High School and we would actually talk as if we were the characters and such while playing. Ahhh the days of paper and dice. Brings me back...

Triumph has been my server ever since the creation of Red Scout. Why? Because I was forced there. That and I like the people on Triumph more then others on the other servers. Pinnacle is a server that I can't stand... people seem to be jerks big time.

Triumph - because of the people and that is where Das Carrot is (currently my highest).

Victory - that is where the supergroup that I created is located. It has about 10 members in it (all mine) and my base which I am learning to build and work with.

When I started out I spend most of my time on Triumph simply because local friends were already using it. Been a while, but I also seem to remember Triumph having some really memorable SGs (That 70s Supergroup(?), a "Penguin" themed group (?), it's been at least a years since I was on Triumph). I ended up switching to Victory when my friends on Triumph dropped the game and other local friends started up on Victory (the TinyJustice League).

As for Virtue, it's definitely the place I'd go if I wanted to start a themed SG, but in honesty I really can't take online RPing seriously (though I've played tabletop RPGs for decades now), and I feel a little like an intruder when I run into people who do take thier CoH roleplaying seriously.

My main toon is on Freedom because, when I saw that it was the most popular, i thought that it would be cool to have that many team options. This is true, but i also have a ton of lagg on Freedom, so I switvhed to Infinity, because it was next on the list. Then I went to Justice because a good friend in RL had most of his toons there. Then I filled those servers, and spilled over to Virtue, Guardian, and went to Triumph with my TA/Psy Defender (when can i get an invite to the friggin Ampy's Angels anywqay? lol) when i heard about the Gameamp SG's being there. asically, i have toons on almost every server. Yes, I am an alt-oholic. Also, ignore the fact that I dont always use apostrophes or capitalize the letter "I" when I refer to myself. :D

well my first server was infinity but when my friend quit i had no one to team with so i hit freedom cuz of some many players and teams and sure somethings the lagg is crazy but its better then waitin 4 a team

Okay so I make a new toon on Virtue last night and I am standing by Miss liberty getting my 2nd level power. So after getting that I run up to the square under atlas and WTF?!?!? There is like 50 female toons all dancing and such with a few male ones thrown in LOL. First thought I had was, what great eye candy :) So I am anxious to see what virtue is like tonight ROFL.

I played exclusively on liberty, simply because it was at the top of my list when i started and I made alot of friends there. But now when i while create a toon on triumph since i just found out ampers play there. BTW what does RP mean exactly i have been away from the free world for a while

Union. It's my home server, great community, very friendly SGs and players, helpful, and great RP.

RP = Roleplaying, pretending to be your character, saying what he/she would say, thinking like he/she would think, acting like he/she would act etc.

My first toon was on Liberty. Why? so many choices and I chose one that looked familiar. My Father lives in a town named Liberty. Didnt much get into playing the game initially. Then about 6 months later my 8 year old was urging me to play a new toon he made for me on Infinity. This toon became my favorite and ultimatley my main. Infinity became my home due to my main and all the friends I made there. I am starting to log some time on Triumph because of the GAA. Also put one on Freedom. A RL friend told me that it was really easy to get on a team because of how crowded it was.

I'd have to say Liberty simply because that's where I have the most friends and all my high level characters. I picked Liberty soley because I had RL friends already playing there. All of whom have since left the game. In the process I made a lot of new friends and love playing with them. It's like putting the missions on invicible/easy.

Since, my Altoholism has me spread out on most of the US servers. I have test toons everywhere. My heart still belongs to Liberty though.

Hm... just remembered I had several trial accounts on the Champion server, and I still have a few good friends there. So, my favourite EU server is Union and US is Champion. *evaporates a tear*

All my heros, villians, and alts go to Triumph.

I was orginally on Freedom server for awhile, (got a hero to 25). It was on this server a couple of years ago that I was introduced to PLing. At first it seemed like a good idea, just sit back and watch the XP roll in. But when I tried to help out, it a defender that was getting PLed, the person that SKed me kept saying don't do anything, just sit there. This really didn't sit right with me and the more I thought about it, the more of the game I was missing. So I deleted my charcter as well as the Blaster I had PLed, and started over. When the SG I had been on found out what I did they kept harassing me, saying I was something or other, and keep in mind I was still a newb and didn't know how to send a harassment report. So once again I deleted my toons and moved to another server. I picked Triumph at random, and I've been there ever since. And I could not be happier there. I found a respectable SG, met helpful and great people, and most of all found out about Gameamp.

Has always been Victory I started there now have a full roster....co-leader of a SG. It was odd to read this post at this time, just recently lost 3 gaming friends....for different reasons but now I am lonely....aww poor me. So I have been considering making a character on Triumph so I can team with other ampers. I am keeping the SG going on Victory b/c we have built a good base and I am holding the fort in case any one returns. I especially enjoy Victory for the friendliness of the players and it is pretty easy to find a good PUG.
