What is the Best Char for PVP. Best of the Best for PVP 1 vs 1

I am new and currently trying to understand this game.

I have a few questions to ask.

1> Which server has the most people?

2> What is the Best Char build for PVP 1 vs 1. I do not care about PVM. I just concern about the best for PVP that can kill other fast in 1 vs 1.

3> what is the best recomand forum that alot of people viewing?

Welcome to the wonderful world of Paragon city!

Hope you enjoy this world as much as I do... and everyone else on this site... I'd love to help you out with my opinion... but listen to the others as well... they probably knoe more than me!

1> Freedom has the most people on its server.... but dont base it around the amount of people within a server, I chose liberty and I find it just fine... also it avoids alot of lag sometimes...

2> If you are going to shoot for killing your fellow man I'd say a scrapper... just because they are more well rounded... but each one has their faults and it all depend on who you go up against... a controler may be good as it might allow you to hold your enemy allowing you the time to hit... Defender... well i doubt a defender will be a wise choice for you ( whish brings me to this... pvp will be multiplayer right? ) Blaster is probably good against a scrapper since it could probably hit and run from him without gettting attacked since the scrapper has hardly any long range attacks... for exapmple if you are a scrapper with superspeed fighting a blaster with fly... you arent going to be very successful, as for a tanker I cant be to sure with the answer not too familiar with playing with them...

3> As for the forum... well im not to sure about this either but I think general discussion is a good one and well.. its where I started and well its kinda where I am staying... but do what is comfortable for you

1) Server? I know that it looks like Freedom, Justice, and Virtue tend to have medium server fill occassionally. I know Triumph on the weekends gets pretty busy.

2) To throw an answer out about best PvP hero. That can vary depending on the type of play you use. If you think about what hero out there can keep a mob from attack while causing damage? Controllers. At the high end controllers can be dangerous people. Especially those that can create Pets. They may not put out the damage of a blaster but if you are a scrapper and cant get in melee range you will be toast. Now there are ways to beat a controller. You can have powers that will allow you to free yourself from holds or reduce the chance of being rooted. Acrobatics from the leaping travel pool give you a assistance in this field. As do a couple of powers in the scrapper line Super Reflexes. Blaster could take on a controller if they are within blasting range and they arent fighting someone that can put them to sleep. Tanks and Defenders I say will probably be on the weaker end unless there is a Group Player vs Group Player (team vs team). Defenders are like psuedo blaster/controllers in my opinion. I would say that a great number of people out there will make Blaster and Controller heroes especially tailored for PvP. But I will take my scrap into a fight anyday with a controller or blaster.

3) What do you mean about most viewed forum? On gameamp? On CoH main page? What happens here is if you go into forum and post it goes on the main page of gameamp. Without looking I think the top 5 most recent post go out there. So you could post in a forum that hasnt been touched in 2 MONTHS but it will go on main page for all to see the new post.

The server, I'd suggest trying a couple out and seeing what kind of "vibe" you get in the first few hours, then decide, Infinity is my home, very happy there, but many others prefer other servers

As for PvP, this won't even be happening for ages, so I hope you hadn't intended on doing this straight away :) But it all depends on what they do with powers in PvP, currently as was mentioned before, a blaster with hover is going to slaughter a tanker or scrapper with no hover ot ranged powers (i3 implements possible ranged powers in new pools at 41 so this may help, but L41 is a long way off for a new character) Although, if they alter the way things like taunt and provoke work, a blaster may have no choice but to close in with a scrapper (which would suck, but u never know) Every class should be balanced, and if the dev's do their jobs properly, there will be no "best for PvP" (here's hoping)

No, not yet, and won't be untill the release of City of Villains expansion (as far as I am aware) you can hit the official forums to check out when others speculate this will be, but no one knows for sure yet

PvP is going to open up a whole nasty can of worms within what some people like to call the "Metagame". People are going to be picking certain powers based on what other people's popular power sets are. Less people will be picking Scrappers and Tankers for PvP. More people will be picking Blasters or Defenders (Dark Defenders get Moon Beam at a pretty low level, it's a sniper power)

At the very least, it should add an interesting twist to the game. Personally, one of the things I LIKE about CoH is that it's NOT PvP. But since it'll be voluntary PvP, I'm ok with that.

I read a forum post by the Statesman which seemed to indicate that PvP wouldnt be open to heroes till they hit level 15! He wanted them to be able to have travel powers open to them. I will try to find the link where that is posted. I didnt make this up I know I read it somewhere!

Well...that's cool too then. I have yet to get any characters past Level 10, let alone 15. (I'm still new, cut me some slack. Figuring out what works for me. Only started playing just before Christmas.) I should never have to worry about being killed by someone at this rate.

as a side note the arenas should be finished for when issue 4 hits, and that will be pvp, but only in the arenas... they are still working out some stuff w/ them though, statesman hasn't decided if he is going to be changing everryones powers for pvp as opposed to how they are now for pve... said they are still figuring out that... but i have to say blasters may do the most damage, but i've been one shotted many times w/ my blaster and they are truely glass cannons

I think my Dark defender could be fun in the arena. Low level long distance shooting is fun. :)

Is protector server is alot of people?

compare to Champion server, which have more poeple?

It's hard to say. The best way to tell is to look at the little activity lights when you select a server. Freedom, for example, often has 2 lights which signify a "medium" load. Whereas Infinity and Triumph consistantly have 1 light, meaning "light" load. Just pay attention to them in the times that you regularly play and you can get a general idea.

I started on Freedom, but I lag a lot more on there than I do on Infinity. I rather like Infinity. (If you go on there, look for Dante Inferis, Dave Batista or Final Epiphany, that will be me.)

also if you are an rper you don't really want to go by how many people are on the servers, the best ones for that are freedom and virtue

also the amount of people on each servers varies a lot... if you are playing really late at night or early in the morning, there aren't as many people on as say on the weekend.... i personally play on Triumph mostly and it rarely has more than one green dot on the server selection screen, but unless i'm playing on off times i can find people to team w/ and do taskforces with no problem
