One of the biggest charms of Guildwars is, I think, the stunning outfits you can make. Definately one of the top charms of COH are the endless costume options.
In Vanguard armor stats are more important again. As it actually should be. No true adventurer spends hours in her wardrobe selecting the most beautiful gown. It is all about protection.
But I will be missing that. Badly, I think. Now I have heard the outfitter can be doing a lot of customizable stuff. Even making own patterns, but that is still related to stats improvement. And a warrior is still not interested in cloth or leather.
But do you think a high class outfitter will be able to make big bucks by commissioning real unique outfits for players? I hope so.

I should hope so too. After quite a few months in WoW, I'm starting to miss having my characters look like I want them too at the benefit of having better stats. If they don't allow what you proposed, I hope that the armor at least artistically looks like they go together. There are days in WoW where I'd almost rather take the stat hit than go out lookin the way I do, but that's just me. :)

Oh, you are definately not alone in this. When I was playing Anarchy I always carried a travelling outfit with me so I look decent, and went to great extends to get the missions that would get me the armor I wanted. Maybe I will make sure I first become a great outfitter before I go adventuring.

I can't count the number of times I settled for a lesser set of armer because it looked cooler. I hate having a gold breast plate, silver legs, perple gloves, and a green helm. I may have been tougher with the rainbow outfit, but I looked like an idiot.

Oh boy hate to have my handle covering the forums but man you all keep rollling out all the great conversations.
The biggest thing I miss about Shadowbane is that it seemd to have tons of hisotrically arms and armour and one of the weakness and few complaints I have with EQ2 is that even though it has gotten better they still pull the old lets just make the same armor a different color and pass it off as another set. The last expansion did a lot to fix that but they still have a ways to go. Heck I miss the basilard, rondell, and other neat bits even UO had mixed in. Ok dang, now my mind is drifting was all set for a good eq2 binge and to catch up on real life stuff after a week of family and travel and now you have my mind all vangaurdy. :P

I've seen a lot of people in games like WoW have a "town outfit". I hate that getting matching armor is so difficult. But I'm one of those who will sacrafice some stats to be able to handle how my character looks.
I have no doubt people will pay good money to look good. So I'll be looking for Phe's Shop of Purtty Clothes when I get in game *grin*

I found this in the FAQ section of the official site. Looks like we might be looking similar to each other, but not as bad as other games out there.
11.11 What are your views on item model reuse in these games? In some past MMOGs one art model was used repeatedly (items and monsters) to represent several different objects in the game.
Sadly, it’s a fact of life that’s going to happen. There is just an incredible amount of work and data that goes into these games. The trick is to be careful how they are reused so that every time you turn around, you aren’t seeing the same model again.

Thanks for the info from the forums Cillion. Also my co lead Tyrlien told me to be prepared for having a low spec. machine again that Vanguard really will not be in love with my AGP 4x video card or 1GB of ram much less the p4 2.0 GHz. I bet it will be enough to run the game on low settings though. I really wanted to get lost in reading up on Vanguard yesterday but sheez I was supposed to have the day off and had to go into work and do about 2 hours worth of emails for work yesterday so needless to say my jones for Vanguard will be put off a day at least plus my home is being invaded by family for the next few days so no desperately needed game binge. :( Man but love the info. on Vanguard keep it coming and keep the frenzy all lathered up for the release hee hee.
