I just picked up the game today recommend by a friend and I really like it so far, and I want to try andbuild a Sonic/Sonic villian. I was just wondering what powers would be worth picking up and would it actually be a good build? I will solo some and grp some. Plus when I get higher I plan to try out the pvp. Any help at all would be great thanks!

I would recommend getting amplify (the sonic aim), as all sonic attacks are given a -5% to accuracy. Aim would also be very helpful in PvP and in concert with dreadful wail (the sonic nova). Siren's Song is very useful when you solo, as you can put an entire mob to sleep (also good in concert with aim) dealing with each member one at a time, rather than all at once.
I am somewhat unfamiliar with the sonic secondary, so someone else will have to help with that bit.

I haven't played with a sonic/sonic enough to comment on the build but I can tell you that I love having one on my team during PvP. You'll be well loved in that aspect of the game. At any rate, enjoy the game and welcome to the site.

Wow. Thanks! That is both good to know, and rather comforting. I guess my character builder is a bit behind the times. Aim is still pretty good though.
Oh, and I forgot to mention that even the weakest sonic attack (Shriek) is very useful. I don't even bother enhancing anything outside of accuracy (2 slots). If you start your attack chains with it, the defence debuff will increase the damage output of your more powerful attacks.

Yeah. With hasten (speed pool power set) 3 slotted with SO enhancements for recharge, and amplify 3 slotted for recharge as well, you can activate it (amplify) almost every 30 seconds.

That will also help combat the huge recharge time for DW and other useful moves with longer recharges. Good ol hasten :) its a must for cors in the sence of aim (or amplify in this case) the nuke and the useful secondaries, such as liquify in your case
