Skill Issues

I've been looking at a lot of fire ele builds and meteor shower is more or less an amazingly godly move. I don't have prophecies however, is there any way I can still get this skill? If not, is there any substitute for that skill that would work as well?

1.) You could get meteor Shower by buying Prophecies :/

2.) There is no other "Fire" skill that has the same effect, but also Meteor Shower has more disadvantages, then advantes. First its WAY to easy to dodge, unless more skills are involved to keep you there. Second pretty easy to interupt, even though lots use glyph of Sac, that is easy to interupt to, adn if you see it go up you know what will happen and again can be a way to dodge it. But of course if you do get people in a MS, then its pretty strong.
Still i think there are more stronger fire skills to use then that, also matters what GW you have. I hope this helps

Yeah it clears things up, thanks. I have Nightfall and Prophecies, I would be playin PvE, are they smart enough to dodge quickly?

In pve, usually not, just avoid stacking other AoEs with meteor shower.

Since you play PvE then it would be a good skill to use it since computers take time to dodge it(3 seconds or something like that, but at 3 seconds they get KD). I'm sorry to say that Meteor Shower is a Prophecies skill and you would have to buy Prophecies to get it. There are many good skills for nukers, but there is nothing with the same effect as MS(KD every 3 seconds). As Txen Viong said don't stack up too many AoE's though with it or they run far.

P.S. Did they add a new spell checking thingy?

PvE - they'd sit and take a few blows and try to run a bit later when hp's running low...then again, you also have the rest of your party killing along with you...I use it in most my fire ele builds... All, actually.

Then again, even in PvP people are too stupid to get out of MS. I was monking in a GvG, the other team had a fire ele. We had them pressure down, we most likely would have won. The ele dropped a MS, nobody got out of it, couldn't heal 7 other people at once, we lost. People in RA also have a nasty tendancy to stand in meteor showers...while being searing flamed. Good times...

At 16 fire magic, MS does 119 damage every 3 seconds for nine seconds, it has a 60 second recharge, 5 second cast time and costs 25 energy.

The DPS/DPM of this skill is rather low though, especially considering how high the armor is of most people in pvp and mobs in pve have.

to a 60AL person, this skill does 357 damage per minute - fairly low when compared to other skills.

To really make the skill any good, you have to be using glyps of some sort.

:D my bad i usually assume stuff is for PvP, but for PvE its pretty amazing :/ and most groups like to have at least 1 nuker wich usually consist of MS

my ele's build

Alright so I've got 15 in fire, 12 in energy storage and 3 in healing prayers.

My skills are as follows:

-Liquid Flame
-Fireball
-Immolate
-Meteor
-Firestorm
-Fire Attunement
-Glyph of Lesser Energy
-Rez Sig

I'm hittin pretty hard but again, I can't get meteor shower since I only have Nightfall and Factions. What would any of you suggest I do? Change stuff, keep stuff, anything? I don't have the glyph of elemental attunement or whatever it is available to me- just to let anyone reading this know.

The build i like best is fire attunement, glyph of lesser energy, searing flames (elite), liquid flame, glowing gaze, immolate, fireball and optional. It's very close to yours and does not require Prophecies tho I have it. Searing Flames does a lot of damage if you spam it whenever possible, using glyph of lesser energy to make it free to cast.

Of course I have 16 fire, 13 energy storage

Capturing Searing Flames is relatively easy once you have mapped Venta Cemetery. Just exit North into Turai's Procession, find the ele boss and bag him. If you already have Gates of Desolation then it's better to start from there. Also you can always cap it during the Dasha Vestibule mission (one of the final bosses has it).

Also, I've grown very fond of Glyph of Elemental Power, especially in fast combos that contain Glowing Gaze.

I know where it is, actually there's like 3 places, just two closer to home, it's just getting there alive and then surviving. This new build though, it works well, I'm living,living's good.

As of now I have my hench nuker using a team based build that works great.

Elemental Atunement
Fire attunement
Mark of Rodgort
Rodgerts invocation
fireball
liquid flame
immolate
Glyph of lesser energy

I combine that with my ranger hero using a fiery bow and setup as a barrage interupter. This does great damage and sett a lot of people on fire.
