I've been having a problem with a bizzare phenom..phenem.. Phenoninom...thing.
Whilst fighting Arachnos last night, those naughty villains kept fading away. First they were there, then they werent, then they were again!
Vanishing and reappearing takes anything from a couple of seconds to about 15 seconds. During this time, I can't attack them or select them, and vice versa. Its like they cease to exist for a few seconds.
My superduo partner suggested that the new Bane Spiders might have some form of group invisability, like a group version of the stalker's hide power. He also suggested that the game was surpressing the villains graphics due to all of my rock debris (im a rock/rock tanker).
Im not sure that either suggestion explains the effect. I don't think its a group hide, as I've had the same effect with Council and CoT.
With the Council, half of the mobs I was attacking faded away and didnt come back. I found them all standing in a huge mob near the enterance of the map!
Is this group hide? Are my rocks too much? Or is something happening to the fabric of space/time as a prelude to Issue 9?
Help, before I fade away too!

With the Arachnos, have you been hit with a smoke grenade?
The Council thing is apparently a known issue.

the arachnos use smoke grenades. it seems now more than they have before though. i never noticed them using it against me before, but have a lot since i8 hit.

If they fade out on you, just pop a yellow inspiration and they should come back for you.
That is what I have had to do to get them to come back and be able to target.

I had this too.
It are the Tarantula Mistresses - they have Scramble Thought (or something like that) and that does -accuracy and -perception of you, which makes that you can't see the enemies anymore. They only do at lv40+.
And yes, Night Widows throw Smoke Bombs, but that's pre-40.

Yep they are using -perception like smoke bomb and such. The council thing I don't think is a glitch. I think they use something like group teleport or something like that. They usually go to the same location or close to it, usually near the entrance.

That would explain some really weird things that I thought were bugs in some of my CoV missions. It never seemed to happen to mt Master Mind, but my other characters experienced it. The MM is the only toon I have with Tactics at the moment.
It acted like an old bug we used to have where at the first sign of aggresion, the mob would dissapear. Until you reach a room in the mission where ALL.... and I mean ALL of the mission's enemy spawns would be in one dead end hallway.
Suprisingly enough, they had no problem moving around and attacking you once you found them a second time. It was also usually a Devouring Earth mission too.
This was also before they put the cap on the number of enemies you could hit with AoE's, and ED. So a well placed Blaster Nuke usually gave you almost a full bubble in one fell swoop. We didn't even need to herd them up ourselves!

Ahhh, the scramble thought thing explains it! I am Lvl39, doing Rugged safeguard missions, so they would be Lvl 40!

Those Bane Spider Scout thingy guys also have Stealth and Placate...so that could be a part of it.

Ive noticed similar thing with Red Caps, and always thought hmmmm, now that is different. Just recently with Chuck in his 30s with all the shields up it happend. What is it they are using that is causing this? Or am I just getting old?

that happened to me against snaptooht!
he threw that little guy on my back and he disappeared for a tiny bit o' time.
and what AT is your partner? maybe he was running a +perception power.

Yeah, the Red Cap Fiends and higher also throw a little lawngnome on your head (the chatwindow actually says "The gnome on your head pounds your head and pokes your eyes." which explains the -perception).
But at least they don't give you a critical hit like the Bane Spider Scouts do. They've killed me with those crits many, many times.
