Okay, after 4 months of inactivity, the "get to know each other" is back! My last one FOUND HERE worked like a charm, so I wanted to see if it's still viable today... ^^
I see all your posts every day, but I keep on wondering who is behind that post. What does this person enjoy doing? what is his hobbies? And where is he/she living? Is it on a farm? or perhaps in a big, pulsating city? Who knows?
Well, I wanna find it out. So please, share some stories about where you live, and what you do. Who knows, perhaps someone on the forum lives on the same place? O.o
I'll start off with myself...
I'm currently living in Oslo, which is the capitol (or is it spelled capital? ah nvm, not important) of a very small north-European country called Norway. It's part of the Scandinavia, if anyone knows where that is...
But anyway, I live a bit up in the hill, on the west side. I do however have a dream that when I get old enough to study I'm going to travel to England, perhaps Oxford, Cambridge or London, who knows... I do not know if I'm going to make it, but it's a dream (at least).
I'm living in a big brown house, with approximately 250-300 squaremeters, with my parents and my own personal devil (my little sister). On my own room, I have white walls, and my own "poster wall" with all my favourite bands... Nirvana, Clash, RHCP, they're all there. And it literally fills the whole wall. I play drums also, but they are placed in the basement, which is bloody cold. altogether it is a quite nice house, I'm going to be sad when I have to move from home.
The city Oslo in itself, is somewhat special for me, but probably somewhat boring for anyone else... Oslo is the second most expensive place to live (Tokyo is nr 1), and we can't really afford to show off anything that someone else can do better. It's got around 500 000+ inhabitants, making it the biggest city in Norway, and one of the smallest in the whole of Europe.. But I love it <3
What is your place looking like? I'd just die to know, so c'mon, start writing now!

I live in the little town of Hexham in the North-east of England. I enjoy hangin' out with mates, shooting some hoops, volleyball, and of course Guild Wars.
I also love RHCP, Nirvana, and other bands being; System of a Down and my fav artist: DMX.
I'm taking my GCSE's in about 4 months so I'm pretty nervous about that. I have relatives in Scotland, which is were I went for New Year, and New Zealand, where I went on a 6 week 'visit-the-family', trip.
This is my old account.

I'm Tim. I live in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, near Atlanta, Georgia, in the Southeast of the US. The mountains are only somewhat impressive, although there are some areas that are quite beautiful. There's a huge waterfall over here that I visit often. The south tends to get maligned, but the area that I live in is pretty nice. I like Atlanta.
I work in finance, which is incredibly unexciting. I'm married, have two wonderful sons.
I'm into music, mostly synthpop and metal, and I'm a Live Action Roleplayer in the Vampire: the Masquerade system, but I play Dungeons & Dragons (2nd ed only, THAC0 FTW) and Magic: the Gathering as well. I'm also a huge (american) football fan, and since my Chicago Bears are in the Playoffs, this is my favorite time of year.
I'd like someday to go to Oslo, but I've been warned several times that I cant afford it :)
Hi.

You're very lucky. I love Evanston. Take a ride up Sheridan to the Ba'hai Temple up there, one of the most gorgeous peices of architecture in the world. Or there's this restaurant on Howard just before California called Gullivers, that is insanely good. I used to drive 30 miles twice, sometimes three times a week to eat there.

Drag here...
I live in Hoofddorp a little town near Amsterdam (and Schiphol Airport >_> lol) in The Netherlands.
I currently put my studies on hold for a year to go make some cash (aka work) as i need a laptop for my studies and the school itself aint exactly ... cheap so..
Ok well i'm 18, spend quite sometime a day behind a pc, i'm currently learning to program in C++ (google if you wanna know..) i might move on to assembly and perhaps other programming languages afterwards, though i want to specialize at C++, well besides that im pretty much into anything computer related, anyway...
I myself listen to Rock in general, Adema, Trivium, Linkin Park, Trapt.etc
You name it, aslong as its got some sense and a nice ring to it.
Besides GW i play Counterstrike 1.6 and Source which is a First Person Shooter Game and i try RPG's here and there.

My name's George and I'm an alcoholic. Wait... wrong place.
My name's George and I live in Roanoke, Virginia, USA. Basically it's nestled in the Appalachian Mountains, and it's kind of rednecked out. I'm originally from Richmond, Virginia, which is a lot more urban than here.
I enjoy beer. I home-brew and I'm kind of a beer snob, but I'm not obnoxious about what others drink. Oh, and I'm studying to become a certified beer judge via the OBJCP. :D
I'm also going to school for Communication Design (basically Graphic Design), which eats up lots of my time. When I can, I like play guitar, bass, sing, fiddle around in Photoshop and InDesign, play Sims2, Guild Wars, and... uh... post over at BeerAdvocate.

Did you know that the Appalachian Mountains is one the worlds oldest mountain ranges? That's why it's so rounded and hilly instead of jaggedy like the Rockies.
"The birth of the Appalachian ranges, some 680 million years ago, marks the first of several mountain building plate collisions that culminated in the construction of the supercontinent Pangea with the Appalachians near the center. Because North America and Africa were connected, the Appalachians form part of the same mountain chain as the Anti-Atlas in Morocco." - Wikipedia

I have a good friend that works for Northwestern. She appropriates school funds for professors. And she has some vendetta against a restaurant called Clarke's.
Small word, eh? :)

I found that out after I started asking around about why our mountains didnt look like the rockies. :) It was one one of the first questions that I asked when I came down here...right after "whats wrong with the dirt? Why is it red?"
I recently (well, back in September) drove through Roanoke. Virginia's beautiful.

I'm Jeni, and my current location is smack dab in the center of the US in Springfield, MO. I'm not from Missouri, I've moved around a whole lot for most of my life. And last May was the first time I ever lived anywhere for 3 full years. I've lived all over the US, from CA to FL and quite a few in between. I spent 8 years of my childhood on a few different farms (cattle ranch to be exact), and decided that when I grew up, I would never live in small towns out in the middle of nowhere again. I also don't like really big cities. Springfield is a good size for me. Population is around 150,000, there are things to do past 5 pm and really all I need to be happy.
The house I'm living in is mine. I never thought I would own a house before, but here I am another 13 years and it is 100% mine. It isn't a huge house, but it is the perfect size for me and my boyfriend and my 2 puppies. There is one bedroom, living room, and office (and of course a bathroom and a kitchen). My house is set up kinda cool though, it makes a circle. This really comes in handly when my nephew comes over (yes he enjoys running laps).
Our back yard isnt as big as I would like it to be, but it is good for now. It is completely fenced in with a 6 foot privacy fence all round it (boxers jump). And every year our goal is to get grass to grow back there (when we first moved in the back yard was being used as a driveway).
And wow is this long, so I guess I'm going to end it here.

It actually wasn't that bad. I didn't know any other way, so I figured it was the norm. It also prepared me for a lot in the real world. I have no problem being the "new kid" in places now. I also developed a bit of a travel bug because of it. I start to get restless around 2 years in one place, but Springfield just kinda became home (mostly due to the boyfriend). Besides, it is nice to say I've lived in a lot of places. It was always fun meeting new people and learning that people everywhere are pretty much the same.

You're all making me feel very, very old. I haven't posted around here much in a while, but since I see a couple of Chicago people around here I'll chime in...
I'm Chris and in a couple of months I'll be 31. I'm a senior software developer for a company that specializes in online interactive education systems. I studied computer engineering at the University of Illinois in Urbana/Champaign (the birthplace of the HAL 9000 if you're familiar with 2001: A Space Odyssey). While I'm trained to work with C++, assembly, and various other engineery-ish languages I do just about everything...from Javascript to C# to perl, vb, cobol, SQL, transact...whatever. Lately I've been pretty impressed with the CLR (.NET) based languages...Microsoft did something very right for a change...;)
I used to play a lot of D&D, Vampire:TM, Shadowrun (anyone? anyone?), etc. but not so much anymore. I've been a hardcore gamer (and computer geek) since I was 8, so I've seen a LOT of technology come and go. I also like to tinker with electronics and PC hardware, play ultimate frisbee, paintball, work out, hit the pubs n' clubs, and become quite intoxicated in the company of friends. Oh, I'm a bit of a literature and film freak as well...when not intoxicated.
I live in a 17th-floor corner-unit condo in Chicago, which is one of the larger cities in the U.S. I live on the far north side on Sheridan, so I'm right on the park/beach just south of the Edgewater Beach Hotel (used to be famous). I've done a significant amount of traveling around, and in my opinion Chicago is one of the greatest cities in the world, although Kyoto, Japan is very beautiful (go there if you ever get the chance).
Go Bears!

Cool beans. :) Yeah, VA is a pretty nice state, geographically. From the mountains to the beach in about 2-3 hours. I don't agree with the politics of the region, but... meh. As for Roanoke; it's small, quaint, and has a small-town feel even though it's technically a city. Neat to stop in, but I don't plan on staying here very long. Once I get my degree... I'm outtie!

I'm Edward but my wife calls me Ed and friends call me everything from Edward to Eddie to Ed to Cross. I'm 32 but I like to think I'm old enough to know better but still to young to care. You know in the middle age which is good to be. I live in Walling which isn't really a town but an area in Tennessee. We actually have a post office here but its a 15 minute drive to the closest grocery store and 30 minutes to a city and I'm two hours Southeast from Nashville. I was born in Winter Park Florida and then moved to Austin Texas and then to Alvin Texas. Next we moved to Sparta Tennessee where I got married and moved to Walling. I live in a 3 bedroom house on two acres. I'm looking on two years to sell this place and build a bigger home on two acres I have about a mile from here. I have twin boys that will be two in February. I'm usually reading stuff on here when I'm not playing GW or TQ or Star wars empire at war. I also do woodworking on the side as well as play basketball and rock climb. There is several other things I do in my past time too many to list. But anyway thats a good start of who I am.
Edited : My wife read and noticed I mentioned the boys and not her, so long story short (so I'm not in the dog house) my wife's name is Carrie and teaches 5th grade Social Studies and Math and Grammar. *notice if you see things that are spelled wrong or not worded correctly, you can be assured it was me posting.*

HEY ALL!
i've been away for quite some time. I recently made a mo/n in proph and am gunna have a new go at the game.
This is a great idea for a thread.
I am from CHICAGO! which i saw a few of you others are, i should have already contacted you about meeting up, as i have no guild and no friends who play the game; dont have nightfall so no heros and i hate henchmen. So another words, im alone alot, which is why i play so little
I am 22 years old, from chicago. A letter carrier for the USPS (Post office) I am going to night school to earn my teaching certificate, and hope to teach in a few years. I graduated from Elmhurst College ( a jazz-mecha if your into jazz) with a degree in Music Business. I worked for a record label for a few years and the YMCA on the side. The label didnt work out, but my passion for helping people at the Y did. So thats where im at in like
In game: Seaborne Copernicus or Art Holywaters

Hi All,
I'm living in Auckland New Zealand, but I was born in Hertfordshire, England. I moved out here just over 2 years ago. One of the great things about playing Guild Wars is that I can meet up with my brother who still lives on the other side of the world from me - although the time difference is a pain.
I work as a technical consultant for Voice over IP, Security and Networking for a large solutions provider, but in my spare time I play GW (obviously), read and write stories, watch English Premier League (C'mon you Irons!) and play indoor soccer. I also love TV series like Lost, 24, Prison Break, Jericho and Heroes like mad and I would love to write a (GW based?) series like that one day.
Oh, and I love dogs, they are just the best!
