i got this idea from talking about the Global Heroics SG the other day.
Would anyone be interested in making a SG with toons representing the 50 states? I think it would be a neat little idea and could garner some interest quickly from other ampers.

I remember when I 1st started people did numerous knockoffs of GH. I remember one that used Miss and Mister before the names, one that did just countries (no Mr/Mrs) and I could of swore I remember a states one. They obviously dont exsist because this was just a few months after GH started to proliferate Triumph.
But that is cool idea to rekindle (especially since GA would be the restarters and we all know GA'ers are the bestest)...can I be Mr. Pennsylvania?

One of the reasons I'd like to start something like this is because the number of states and SG slots are kinda close. and if we have Mr. and Ms. of each state then everyone can at least find a name with some left over.
I don't want to do it on triumph though because of GH, so i was thinking Champion or possibly where someone else has a higher toon to possible designate as a philanthropist.
An idea i also had was for each toon to be the colors of the state school, i.e. Pennsylvania be PSUs colors, Ohio be red and silver, florida be orange and blue. i think that would be rather neat.

If you do it on Virtue, I'll help fund it. I have a 50 Blaster there.
And I'd be happy to make a Mr Indiana, but the colors for him would have to be Purdue black & gold...can't do the IU colors, no no no.

Sounds like a good idea. I'll take Mr. Iowa, since i think i'm the only one from there that's around here.
I'll also nominate Victory for the server; 2 reasons why:
1) We could coalition with my sg, Outsiders of Paragon, and compliment their choices of Teleporters, so that between our 2 SGs we had even more choices of teleporters.
And the other?
*looks into DC's wallet...and secondary wallet...and large vault...*
we'd have a...semi-decent amount of cash for people to buy DO/SOs when they hit that level range..

I lay claim to Miss California. The only server I can hook people up with cash on is Triumph. Since we're not doing it there, I'm fully in support of any server where cash is available.

sorry grif, that was a complete subconcious statement and i never even thought about the game last night. heck, i only watched 20 minutes of it anyway.
virtue might be a possibility since that makes 4 people i know with 50s there.
I didnt want to do victory cause last i knew path had his victory filled up and i know he'd want in on this.
any other nominations for servers?

Mr Massachusetts would fit if you didn't use a period after Mr. And as long as it's not on Triumph, I would play as Mr. Minnesota. Can't say how active I would be with all my mains on Triumph, but I would certainly participate.
Also, some more tricks you can pull if you need more names (or more variety):
1. Allow for a Mr., a Ms., and a Kid. (i.e. Kid New York)
2. Go with cities insted. Mr. Talahassee, anyone?
3. Make sure you incorporate the state into the name, without having to have the Mr. or Ms. (i.e. The Delaware Dervish)

i thought about making Captain Colorado that has a green and gold costume with ram horns
I'm not worried about not having enough names since the SG can only take 75 peeps. definately dont want more than 2 of each state though.
any other suggestions?
I was thinking about making the SG name "Team America" and our slogan could be something catchy like HECK YEAH! only not heck :) or RED WHITE AND BLUE TRUE.

I don't think we should go with Team America. I don't mind going with some funny, but I think we have enough original thinkers at this site that some good suggestions should pop up, be they funny or serious. (hint hint Ampers)
I also dig the incorporation of state into the name instead of Mr. of Ms. (my #3 idea in the last post). It gives you freedom of creation. I also don't think we should have a standardized uniform, only for the reason that it let's you be creative in representing your state. Doing Colorado? Maybe a ski vest and ear muffs. Hawaii? Swim trunks! Surf's up!
But in any case, I am not trying to take over your idea Biggie Fresh, just trying to offer up some ideas. I already have a sweet original idea brewing for my Minnesota toon...
*Edited to add: You might not want to even make using the state name in your hero's title madatory, as long as it is in the bio and the rest of the SG knows you have laid claim to it. Just for creative purposes, and the fact that certain names take up most of your available space like Massachusetts or New Hampshire.

I agree with Nak that we should not require the Mister/Miss/Mr/Mrs/Ms naming convention.
I do think that the toon name should either include the state name or an obvious reference...whether the state motto, flower, bird, etc..... (Look at Death Fetish's post directly above for example)
I also agree that we should not have a standard costume.
I do like the idea of having one costume based on the colors of the state flag.
I do not care what server we do this on, although the sooner we decide the better....I like rolling alts....And I do like having financial patrons.
And Phe, that would be great. I always like having backup.
