Solo farm a Kepkhet's Refuge

Been trying this for a while, i heard somebody had done this on
there ranger or necro.

posted this minute ago but i think it timed out as i cant locate it :(.

I can kill all the scarab groups in the area with blood necro or trapper, but just killing the boss is the problem.

He is a prot monk with : elite MoP, RoF , gaurdian, mend condition, CoP and divine intervention.
Porbbaly smite hex too.

Im thinking a energy destroyer build with dehabilitating shot , BHA elite and tigers fury, probably poison and some running skills , so i shouldn't have to kill many foes.

Last night i was pretty amazed he withstood like 20 traps.

Any of you done this before and what build would you use?

My guild can 3-man farm him. I don't think anyone can solo a Monk boss - especially a Protection Monk.

Take 2 Nukers and a Tank. The usual "Lure and Nuke" strategy works well - just don't lure the Monk boss to far out. He/she/it just runs back -_-

Actually there is a Mesmer solo farm build out there for soloing Keph. I believe there is also a necro build too. And there was also a KD warrior build that solo farmed Keph. The only one I'm aware of, skills and such is the mesmer build.

Upon further research, I located a useful page on wiki, and it features some tips used to create the various solo farming builds out there for this boss. Anyways, here's an exert.

A one man ranger farm may be done on kephket, but it requires plenty of patience. A ranger/necromancer should bring the following skills: interrupting shot, poison arrows, poison arrows, necrotic traversal, troll ungent, demonic flesh, and two skills that deal extra damage. by slowly making you way out through the area, you can take out the patrols and minotaurs that plague the immediate area around kephket by using necrotic traversal to negate well of the profane, and demonic flesh if you are close to death. now comes the tricky part: the minions that form a circle around kephket will not move if you attack them with a bow and keep them outside of you aggro bubble. after you pick off 1 or 2, marrowfeast will pick up on what you are doing and rush you with 2 minions. you must run kephket over to one of the griffon groups to the south or west, and they will ignore you and start killing each other. the minions die off easily, and kephket begins taking abuse from the griffons, who spam thrill of victory and final thrust to keep their health up. they will NOT die so you can focus your attacks on kephket. keep her poisoned as long as you can and use your damage attacks when you can. after about 5-10 minutes of this, kephket will go down.

If I remember correctly, I've even heard of Touch Rangers finishing Kephket by them selves.

Oh, and another hint for you, the solo mesmer build does use Diversion ^^

Thanks guys, ill probably try the death poison or the toucher build as i dont have a mesmer.

Actually, no I tried something like that once, but you see, defense isn't the issue, damage and getting past the enchantments is. Hence why the mesmer farming build uses Diversion to disable particularily annoying skills, while the Touch farmer uses stances for defense and life stealing to destroy the bonder :O

I solo Kephket with the vengeful rit build for kicks whenever I have nothing else to do. It can be done with your eyes closed after awhile.

Some very nice ideas, but i swear farming kephkets is practically worthless, its only worth like 2-4k isnt it?

Best way to get a kephet :

Farm/run/trade for 2k
Go to augary and spam W-T-B Kephet's
Done :D.

Yeah, but its quick and easy. Not to mention the sale value of the horde of stuff you get for killing a zillion scarabs. Its about 8-10k an hour if you're good and the drops are lucky. Sometimes she drops 2 refuges. easy 6k.

The staff itself isn't worth a lot but its a good staff easy to get and great for you heros. So if I have 8 characters and both have 2 monks I will need 16 of em to have one for each monk (that is if you are using protection based skills). 16X2K = 32K to get one for each char. So if you could solo farm them you could get them in just a little time (specially if she drops 2).

So that is a possible reason to farm there.

Yeah, the VWK build is very useful, however, in many places the Warrior VWK is better suited due to the high damage. :/

Have managed to kill him a few time today, twice with a guildie killing the little ones , then i sent all the heroes away and lured the griffons and the scarabs together and
spammed them with poison and kephkret with Broad head arrow.

This did the trick quite nicely,
other skills are storm chaser, barb trap for killing necros,
penetrating attack, whirling defense , troll ungeant and serpents quickness.

Just solod the whole group, unfortunatly havent got a staff yet.

Will i get a staff if the griffons land the killing blow?

Somebody said why not buy one, what would be the fun in that, rangers like a challenge :D .

I'm pretty sure you won't get the drop if another enemy gets the killing blow, or even if a random NPC gets the kill. That's just what I've noticed.

And for those who say that the staff isn't worth anything anymore, it's not really the staff you are farming for. It's an easy farm, that nets around 5k a run in just drops, and it takes only about 30 minutes, faster if you are more experienced and don't screw up. I still have three staffs sitting around in my inventory because they aren't really worth selling.
