oK......you all think that OMG i cant get 1k cAuse farming is soooooo dead and nerf....THERE IS NO NERF........first of all...look at me..i made over 100k+ using a monk and warrior FARMING within the past 2 weeks.....it aint hard...my monk can still kill all the trolls in the cave at once with only 1 guy running to heal...i can still 55/fermine or w/e and my warrior with rit elite farming IT AINT HARD....
i bought a new account since i had one in TC and well i wanted another to go off and be supported for my guild i have in WoW and GW.....
I got a necro....warrior....monk....ritualist....and a paragon!
My necro has 15k luxon armor
Warrior got primeevil(3 of 5 pieces rly)
Monk has 3 1.5 sets(not ond of 15k lately)
ritualist.....I GOT ME RITUALIST 15k kurzick!!!!
I mean it aint hard!
Just take time and patience...it aint dead so no crying....so i hope you all can earn money...i evn lended out like 2k to evry new player in ascalon kamadan and w/e....just trust me farming aint nerfed......
Theres evn guides on were u can farm PERFECTLY
example...u got the mo/me using scyth + IW and 105 plus ps and blah blah blah and u can use 55 still just 3 guys at once......anyways yeah....now my fingers hurt

Well, firstly, I believe the nerf you're talking about is the anti-farming code. Yes it exists, yes it affects farming. How significantly? That 100k you made in 2 weeks ought to be closer to 300k-500k, at least thats what it was more like in the past. As far as farming builds and people complaining about them, yeah, 55 is pretty dead, because once you're capped at 3 enemies at once in order to utilise the build, it's basically become obsolete. There are plenty of builds out there like you said, though it is true, a fair number of the "best" farming builds were effectively neutralised.
Secondly, I'm not really sure where I've seen farming complaints on the site here, aside from the prices of Vabbian Armor (which are pretty expensive for the look). As far as the subject, it isn't something totally new to hit the shelves, practically every skill change has brought some sort of build destruction or controversy along with it in the past, the SB nerf is just another one to join the fray. If you can remember, the nerf they did to BotM (Blood of the Master) was a huge issue, as was the minion number cap. For a few months you never heard the end of either of these two subjects, I expect to hear some more feedback over the SB nerf as well.
Just watch, once Searing Flames gets nerfed, you'll hear complaints and praise a like. Its just a part of the game I suppose.

When they first updated the AI, it annoyed me cause it changed all the current farm spots. But, now, months after that. I have ele builds that can farm trolls faster than any other character in the game, now or before the update. Didnt work before cause they use to instantly run from AoE, now they dont run as soon as you use it. Anyway, it can farm trolls, killing them in less than 15 seconds.
AND a diff build I use as an ele can farm UW smites in 10-15 minutes per run. Faster than the rit solo smite run before the update.
It also added new farm spots. The spot outside Yohlon Haven with all the termites, its actually pretty profitable. Brings in more gold per hour than trolls can. There is also a green longbow I can farm on my ele. And finally, ele's with factions(for sliver armor) can solo torment creatures in Domain of Fear, getting over 400xp per kill and however many LB points the bounty gives you. As well as killing high level monsters which gives you a chance for high-quality drops.

Actually, the anti-farming code has been around since before factions came out, so that had NO influence on the amount earned before and after NF.

55 monking is still alive and well. I'm not sure what you're doing wrong, but it still works well. It does not take 3-5 times longer to do the runs.
A few builds may not be as effective(not useless), but in it's place, a number of builds have cropped up. It's not too hard to find them online. Or, make your own, possibly?
If people would take the time to come up with their own farming builds, then people wouldn't have to complain until a new gimmick build is created by someone else.
The best way to learn to make your own build is to take someone else's build, try it out, then tweak it so it works better. Keep doing this, and soon you will begin to connect the dots between skills.
I do agree with Garrett, farming is in no way nerfed. Right now, I'm making more money than I ever did in Prophecies or Factions.

Since I got the hang of using the skills for the Derv solo build, I've had no problems whatsoever with farming for stuff. Everybody says that AoE nerfs are killing Dervs and I don't see it.
I can understand why they would nerf some of the things, especially when I've heard that people have used bots to farm.
Me, I've played about 10 hours of GW this week and made about 30k. I'm happy with that. And if you're the type that puts in 40 hours of gaming a week, 120k shouldn't be too bad either.
People are complaining that the economy prices are coming down too far and it's making it harder to get those super expensive chunks of armour. But on the other hand, people are also complaining that it's too easy to get elite items...I dunno...I'm starting to get confused as to what everybody wants anymore.

The way your mentioned it made it sound like the anti-farm code came out with the release of NF. :P
Infact, the update he is talking about(i think, at least) is the one that came out right before NF, that made melee monsters smarter by running to heal when they are low on life.
And for reference, i've been searching for the anti-farm code threads and the earliest I've found so far is march 16th of last year.
EDIT: Just found a site mentioning the anti-farm code in GW dated mid-August of 2005.
EDIT: Ok, found it, in the update logs of June 15, 2005, anet modified the loot system so monster drop less if they are farmed.

Farming is far from dead, though I personally have begun to see 55 farming as tremendously boring... That and I made up an ele solo build that can solo more different things than the 55 ever could as well as being able to take as many enemies as the SB monks could (see my screenshot where I soloed Defend Denravi if you don't believe me; it's in the screenshot section) :D
I can make a good 2-3k in a 20 minute farm run, so that's 6-9k an hour (a bit low) or about 15k per day since most of my time is spent PvPing recently. That's hardly bad, especially since each and every outing I take is in a different zone and farming different creatures, so it is varied, exciting, and doesn't trigger the farm code to boot.
Personally, I'm looking forward to the SF, SS, SoMW, SV, and other nerfs that are inevitably going to occur pretty soon. Make people get off their butts and make some new builds for once, as well as having little to no effect on me directly except for having to listen to whiners.

i remeber when aoe came in and all the ele said was why dont they nerf mm and ss? so... a few months down the like mm and ss... well they changed them for the better inho and im a necro im sposed to complain reb and eg also didnt complain... infact in most cases the nerf has kept me alive allot longer i standard pve. truth be told the monsters used to love attacking monks with ba and zelots fire. they used to glue themselves to the monk who would have maybee 20 monsters dead in a few seconds then rinse and repeat. this lead to a load of bots. and for hard core farmers all they would do with the game was farm.
well there are less bots about. less kids in sweat shops etc tho who knows perhaps I'm missing the point if i do thk takes me about 20mins to an hour and i get about 3-6k well i used to before the money went to factions and nf. now the same can be said about those missions. i expect if i got good at gates of madness i could repeat pug with strugglers and make the money that way. if i actually wanted to make money if a green or gold drops for me it means something. i don't buy weapons normally. yet I'm enjoying the game. this is a well gone over debate but it is still good to see peoples views on it.

The Nerf never affected me <.< Probably because i didn't finish my 55 and on the day it was bout to turn lvl 20 it got "nerfed".I don't really mind the update. Hehe i can Troll farm just not as fast...It takes me 2 mins more for me to clear out the Cave..But that's just because i have a bad build and axe :P oh and im horrible at farming. Double Post friggin sorry my Computer was being slow and clicked twice.

I dont really think the first 3 skills you mentioned are overpowered they are deffinatly good skills but they can be outplayed still. SV however i think is overpowered typically not many characters like a warrior have the hex control and energy to manage those anti melee spam hexes and in a place like RA it just makes it overpowered.
As far as farming went i havnt farmed since factions came out but im really glad that they had this "farming nerf" before nightfall came out so that instead of making all these areas with enchamtnet removal to counter 55 type builds they can just not have it work so now i can play builds with enchantments with out them getting constantly stripped. And if you still can farm throught it good everyone wins.
