Apparently British trains don't run when it's raining so I'm sat at home with not much to do, I have a free day...and I'm not playing GW!
I did however just do this:
What I'm wondering tho is how have I become bored with NF so fast? I played Proph non stop until Factions was released and I was just starting to get bored with them both when NF came out.
I know I still have titles to get but they all require grinding and I can't be bothered turning a hobby into a chore. Am I missing something, is there something wrong with me or does the PvE side of GW have very little replay value??

Nail on the head there. I think unless you are totally commited to getting titles (Cartographer and the such) there isnt really any replay value in the PvE world. Once your necro/monk/warrior has beaten all three campaigns . . . now what?
And as you say I wouldnt turn a hobby into a grind fest.
Can't say I agree with you there but everyone is entitleed to their own opinion. I don't have enough time to get everything done that I want to. I ahve beaten NF with my paragon but since then have been working with my necro on different things. I currently am 1 short of Protector of Cantha, 2 short of Tyria, a buynch in elons. I have 219 elites and stil working on the rest. As for explorer title tracks I haven't even started them sitting arund 70-75 on all 3 continents. So IMO there is plenty to do and I didn't even mention UW/FoW/DoA/elite missions. So if you are bored with GW maybe you need to set some goals for one of your characters and see if you can get yourself motivated to get them. Then again maybe its just time for you to take a break from the game for a little while. Sometimes you just get burned out, maybe try a little PvP to change things up who knows. Either way enjoy your day off.
The true test of any technology is its ability to obtain porn.
the reason you are bored, is because your probably doing most quests and missions with heros and hench and not with people, so you have n one to talk to in the party so your bored (whats happened to me and ALOTS of coursework hehe)
Have you ever tried prank PM'ing people in game or on site? that sounds like fun!

RE: Bored....
*cough* PvP */endcough*
Know how you feel, PvE makes me frustrated and bored for the most part, unless there is something in particular that I want from it, such as getting to endgame armour etc. I however have not yet got bored of GW PvP, it is fantastic :)
I have set goals, got all 3 protector titles on my Warrior but as I said I don't want to grind for titles like explorer and I'm slowly capping elites.
It's true about not playing with people tho, our guild has been in decline since last summer and now there's only a few of us left who play together...less than a dozen.
I could do some PvP if I didn't find it more boring than PvE...maybe that's just because I'm not always winning. Again, we used to to GvG's a fair bit but with fewer people on that's harder. I VimTrapped HA for a while (back before the change to 6 man) and that got boring and I've never done anything in RA but suck!! Maybe I just need to keep trying.
I'm probably not going to be the right person to answer this.
I'm getting the feeling I have less and less in common with other games as the days progress.
I don't really archive much in any one go but it seems like an un-climbable mountain.
Trying to get every skill for every profession.
Complete the game with all of them I was giving up on my dream of completing the game with every prof when proph was the only thing out.
Now I have 3 times as much ground to cover with 4 new types of char and every combination of skills on each of those characters then yeah titles well some of them are down right stupid but...
Like I said I don't think I have much in common with the majority of the bored when I say that I can consider ever truly beating the game.
I refuse to get a farming build off the shelf and spend weeks making the money to buy the skills.
I will do it at a snails pace by completing the bits.
Well now I think about how impossible it all seems, I think I will give up and just wander around. like the littlest hobo helping strangers.
I'm too lazy to find the article but the PvE side of the game was originally intended to unlock skills for PvP and train you a little before you hit the PvP arenas.
Anet was surprised when people started to flock tot he PvE portion of the game and have had to make advancements since (more of less ignoring PvP). Sorrows furnace, the addition of greens and other things were indications that the PVE portion of Guild Wars had not become just a training ground for PvP but a place for some people to call a game.
Factions was a grasp at recapturing the PvP aspect of Guild wars with the entrance of AB battles and a nice little revamp to some PvP systems while attempting to keep the PvE players not left out of the mix with a lackluster campaign until Nightfall.
Evidence of this is the assassin class. Ridiculously effective in PvP yet there is often little place for them in the PvE aspect of the game.
Ritualists were introduced to add more diversity to the mix. A class that could effectively deal damage while assisting th emonk with decent healing was a huge twist to the PvP environment as well as PvE.
Nightfall.... has added another campaign... which is taxing.... boring so far..... and rushes you to level 20. I believe this is why a lot of people don't understand the game mechanics as well as the original crop from Prophecies.
People in Prophecies more or less had to do without skills until the proper skill trainer came along and you could learn the skill from a quest. Factions had the majority of it's skills available once you hit Kaining center so there was no need to try different builds and different approaches to the game.
With quests like "Go outside... look for the fern that is uhh.... 2 metres away.. come back... I'll give you 5k exp!" it's no wonder people are bored with Nightfall and Factions easily. The quests have no depth.
Villainy of Galrath took 2 hours if you started from Lions Arch (45 minutes if you started from ToA) was ridiculously hard and had a payoff of only 3k exp.
Working for your experience seems to entertain people more than "You don't even have to leave the town... just go talk to everyone and I'll hit you up with 500 exp"
"Dude did you know you can use henchmen? Grab one and I'll hit you up with another 500exp"
"OMG MAP TRAVEL! another 1k exp."
Maybe in the fourth chapter they'll give you exp for each emote you pull off successfully?
Quest dance 'n' boogie:
"Did you know you can dance? type '/dance' and give me a show"
5k exp
100 gold
4 Utopian medallions
It's no wonder you're all bored... come over to the light; PvP where there is actually a challenge.
the reason i quit for a week. is mostly that i dont know where to start with playing, should i first complete factions with my ranger or complete all 3 with the necro i just began.
maybe you have to much to do. and thats why you were going to play lesser when you got factions and nightfall.
I'm still enjoying Nightfall, as I've been balancing my time spent in the game. Only my Ranger and my Necro have actually finished the game, my other chars are at various points from Sunspear Sanctuary to Desolation.
I divide my time between PvP, Farming anywhere/anything, and doing campaigns. Doing this ensures that I won't get jaded on one thing. Not that I'm struggling with not being bored, but a change of pace is nice for me once in a while.
Sometimes I'll just pick a build at random from either here or wiki and try it out. Then once I understand the concept, I adjust it for my personal use.
But I am a little worried about what Chapter 4 holds for us. If it's gonna be as PvP oriented as Factions was, I'm not sure how much longer I can hold out. I sure hope that C4 will be the point where Anet improves on the campaigns we have and adds a whole lotta map to em. Or a collaboration between Team PvE and Team PvP, that way everyone gets the best of both worlds.
I don't know what everyone means when they say they played through Nightfall twice and got bored, so are quitting guild wars. I'm on my fourth time through, with five more chars after that, and I'm still loving it. I think it's that I enjoy just playing all my different characters than it is I enjoy the campaign. I really only pay attention to the campaign and do all the quests once. After that I'm just doing the main things so I can unlock the skills and say I finished the campaign. I'm essentially doing the same thing over and over again, but I'm not getting bored because what I am doing with each character is so different. I am very much looking forward to finishing my ele so I can start on my paragon. I know you have most of the professions too, so I don't know what to tell you. I know I have a goal of 100% skill unlock, and that keeps me going through the campaigns one after the other, keeps me heading out into the Realm of Torment time and time again to maybe successfully cap that elite. I agree with whoever said set some personal goals and see if that can't get you motivated again.

the quests have no depth ...
I can only agree that. I have been playing Prophecies for a year now, and i only have one paragon (lvl. 16) in Nightfall, but i can see a difference too. It is amazing how quick a character levels in Nightfall, you get ridiculous high amounts of xp for quests that are so easy. In Prophecies there were The Titan Quests, Galrath, Althea's ashes, and so on. Hard and long quests, with which you earn not that much xp. In Prophecies you sometimes just had to form a party with other payers, because the henchmen were just to weak. In Nightfall, till now, i never rly needed the help of other players. It's not that i think Nightfall is lame or so, but my Paragon is like lvl 16 now and i am still on the little island in the south-east, will i have to do the rest of the campaign as a lvl 20 character ?
