I am considering making a stalker and leveling them up during the double exp weekend. The builds I am considering are Energy Melee/SR, EM/regen, ninja blade/SR, and claws/regen.
Please post any advice, builds, or infromation you think would be useful.

/Regen is, as you might know, perhaps the easiest secondary, while Super Reflexes requires the use of practically *all* the powers to make it work well, in my experience.
As for primaries... Ninja Blade does good damage, and is good for Scrapping thanks to Divine Avalanche. Claws does well too. Both of them do Lethal damage, though, which is highly resisted. Energy Mêlée does the highest damage of any stalker set, second is probably Dark Mêlée. Pick whatever ones you want. Only real criteria you need:
Assassin's Strike at 6.
Build Up at 8.
Placate at 12.
No exceptions.

I always liked Claws and the Ninja Blade for Pimary stalker sets. Claws because of the ranged attack that does nice damage, and that there are just a bunch of neat powers in general in that set, such as Coned attacks, AoE attacks, (and like said before) and the ranged attack. Not to mention Claws has a pretty sweet animation. Ninja Blade is great as well because the powers do a nice number of damage and are just a fun set to play in general...especially in the later levels where you get Soaring Dragon and Golden Dragonfly.
As for the secondary, I've always loved Regeneration. That has some pretty great powers in it, including plenty of heals.

I just recently made a Martial Arts/ Dark Aura Stalker, and it's worked out pretty well so far. Though since this is the first stalker I've gotten past lvl 10 (currently lvl 18) and I didn't follow the little mantra you made, but I've made it this far pretty well.
I'm really thinking of using my last veterans respec and remaking Neko Kage to have Focus Chi and Placate in there. Problem is how to fit Fitness and Leaping into my build.

I have a level 42 Em/Sr stalker it is great for pvp and it has the ability to go relentless on solo or teams. The qoute about needing all the powers is true ive respected 4 times with that toon, the best thing i can tell you is get health and stamina with this build( save slots by leaving health at one slot). This toon rules in PVP owning many builds high damage and one shoting blasters is killer. You truly will be a one shot wonder. Even villians will shun you for your foul treatment of heros in the pvp zones. Also must haves for end bosses or just pvp is , placate build up and stealth for added hide in the PVP zones.
Switching gears to a good travel power. If you want good mission times and good mobility in PVP zones go with the blur factor or aka Super Speed( Fast Xp). I currently have Jump with acrobatics, i use it for jumping to get the flyers in the PVP zones knock them down with a pre targeted total foucus should cause them disorient enough to drop them to the ground placate and As. ok ill let you respond hope this helps.

Hey welcome to gameamp mended, also I'd like to say i've recently made a claws regen stalker (one of the popular builds) and i must say that its no wonder its a popular build. I think that claws regen is jsut the right amount of damage, and speed. If you have the veteran power then you already have a chain as soon as you start with brawl,1st power choice, sands of mu and your magic,or science or whatever you are power. regen is very helpful considering all the amount you'll be taking being a stalker and most of the time being the target of the mob after you assassin strike the boss or whatever.

I like Claws and EM is good as well (Claws has a higher DPS than all of them).
Secondaries, Regen is very good. However, you'll not want to count out Ninjitsu. This set gives you a wide range of toys for any occassion. It provides some good melee/range defenses (which the ranged defense provides a +per...good for PvP and PvE). It provides a self heal, caltrops, mez protection and other toys to keep you hidden and the heat off.

I think i may want to go with energy/ SR, and possibly go with SJ as my starting travel power. An i am also wondering if i need to get aid self in it.

again i have a 42 em/sr stalker, and ive made it this far w/o aid self, You do need to give up a deffense prbly to get it though. Healing isnt as important as hidingng your self i think. In an ambush situation get in and get out even soloing missions hide until you have health and get back in.

I have a level 30 Claws/SR Stalker. I have Focus Fighting, Focus Senses, Practiced Brawler and Quickness. I will be getting Evasion at level 35.
Should I get Elude when it becomes available to me at level 38 ? I don’t think I will need it. I cant attack when it is activated, it looks like just a get away power. Does anyone have any input on this power, it looks useless to me.

You can improve your reflexes, making yourself so quick you can Elude almost any attack, be it ranged, melee, or area of effect. Your running speed and jumping height and Endurance Recovery are also increased. Elude also grants you high resistance to Defense Debuffs. When Elude wears off, you are left drained of all Endurance and unable to Recover Endurance for a while.
Effects:
Self +Defense, +Speed, +Recovery
Resistance (Debuff Defense)
+Special
I don't see anything about not being able to attack in there...
People call these god mode powers for a reason. there's no reason whatsoever not to pick it up. The stalker secondary tier 9s incredibly useful.

Nevermind…. In the CoH / CoV Character Builder by ShrekSilver it says you can not attack while Elude is activated.
I just checked my CoV Book from Prima and CoV actual character builder and they both agree with you. You are right it I a good power to get.

I got a 49 ((by the time anyone reads this will most likely be 50)) SPines/Nin stalker that has served me very well everyone doesnt like my build but i sem to enjoy it the spines have nice Dot and -Fly powers to keep enemies near you and the nin secondary rocks wit hthe toys heals and of course Retsu... just my opinion
