EM/Elec is the current best PvP Brute build, in general. It has moderate Psi Resists, a good amount of burst damage, and the ability to have a very fast suppressionless movement speed. Try this PvP specific build on for size:

your build is okay, but there are somethings i'd change, first off even though you got grounded at a late level you dont want super jump, grounded's knockback effect only works on the ground, and to be honest why waste another power slot for acrobatics, when you could get hasten and super speed, and have an extra slot for a power that you need more, grounded's knockback effect might not be as good as acrobatic's but trust me it does just fine, ive had my brute for awhile and the one mistake i made was getting Mace Mastery from what ive seen Mu Mastery combined with Power Sink equals no end for the opponenet and it helps ALOT when taking down hard to kill enemies like regen scrappers and fire tankers, well thats all i really found wrong with yuor build everything else looks good.

Actually, those assessments of grounded are not correct. Taking grounded in addition to acrobatics is what the pure PVP build players are taking and it does very well. You take acro for off the ground protection and grounded for added protection on the ground AND to maximize your protection to Energy. That is the real reason to take grounded, not the KB protection. And you will NEED SJ/SS combo to keep up with the pace of high-level PVP, so getting rid of the leaping pool is not really an option.
As for the endurance drain thing...1v1 it is possible on a small map in arena. In open zone PVP, you will find it extremely difficult to catch them to drain them completely, and no one stands toe-to-toe with a brute to allow them to build up fury, except maybe a tank...and even they have learned to kite us. Web envelope is the ONLY choice for a brute in PVP so you can root them onto the ground, easier to catch then but they will still have SS and/or Speed Boost on them from a kin, so it will still be difficult. The drain from Mu Mastery attacks from the brute PPP is not significant enough to do any kind considerable drain, even when combined with PowerSink. Now, the brutes that can make draining end work are Elec/Elec brutes with Mu Mastery, but in PVP Elec/ is a joke, so I don't think you'll find draining very common.
Overall...that build was VERY nice, I would go to battle with that build anyday. I prefer a few slotting changes, but overall...great.

i would have to disagree. IMO Elec/Elec is the only thing that can fight a regen scrapper effectively. when you sap his/her end they are done. thats it. The majority of heroes ive seen in PvP are blappers or /regens and when you suck their end they're both screwed. how do i know? i play a /regen stalker and the elec/elecs PWN me every time.

I'm sorry, but you must not have any experience in real PVP, because if you are getting beaten by an Elec/Elec Brute, that is just plain sad. Please don't post about things that may confuse people who are thinking about playing PVP. Elec/ primary has the LOWEST Single Target damage output of ANY brute primaries. NO ONE stands there and lets you beat on them, especially scrappers who kite you until your dead.....you will not be keeping up with the scrapper or especially blaster who can fight you from afar, and even when they do come in to fight, it's for about 1 second to get off the BU+Aim+PBU Total Focus, which even against a /Elec secondary will hurt you badly. Endurance draining is a joke in any kind of competitive PVP or even zone PVP. One single kin on the other team will erase all possibility of draining enough endurance, even if they stood toe to toe with you.
I don't mean to sound so harsh, but I also have a /regen stalker and can defeat Elec/Elec brutes and pretty much any other brute with ease. Even if they do drain your endurance, you should have plenty of time to run away before they do any significant damage to you.
As for your comment about Elec/Elec being the only build to effectively defeat /regen scrappers....um NO. My ice/cold corrupter, mind/ice dominator, sonic/rad corrupter, ice/kin corrupter and many other builds with massive -regen can wipe the floor with /regens. Are they tough, absolutely...but an Elec/Elec has ZERO chance against a /regen scrapper who knows how to PVP, and actually against a semi-decent /regen scrapper who knows not to stand and fight toe to toe with a brute to allow him to build fury.
Again, I am not trying to be a jerk...but with posts like that you could put a person into a build that will actually GIMP them in PVP not help them. If you would like to see a lvl 50 Elec/Elec Brute against a good spines/regen or BS/regen scrapper I would be happy to bring my friend on his scrapper to test to show you just how this will work out. With both PVP at high levels (meaning on test and in server arena fights) and I run a PVP Villain Group on Champion. I am not saying I am perfect, but I do know PVP builds and builds that may have potential in PVP if played right. Elec/Elec is NOT on that list....
Thanks

SS/Fire has been said to be a reasonably good PvP build (so long as you take acrobatics to make up for the lack of stats protection)
Quick damamge, ube annoying knockdown (when not resisted) an AoE DoT aura that keeps stalkers at bay in Warburg and a relativly fast and hard hitting combat chain.
Not forgeting the minor but ever useful self heal and immob killer/foe slower :)

I have a lvl 50 Elec/Stone I built specifically for PLing/farming. He is "okay" at it, but SS and Stone/Stone both do a better job. Elec primary is known for its AOE damage, not its single target damage, so even if TP Foe works, you won't be able to kill the fast enough before they can get away.
Now, Stone/Elec on the other hand....now that is a different story all-together. It should quickly become FOTM (Shhhhhhh!!!) if many people actually test what it does in 1v1s :) It is that powerful...
Good luck.

Correct sir, SS/Fire is actually a very good PVP build and with just a thermal or sonic as support you can do amazing things. Carry lots of breakfrees :)

| QUOTE | | QUOTE | SS/Fire has been said to be a reasonably good PvP build (so long as you take acrobatics to make up for the lack of stats protection)
Quick damamge, ube annoying knockdown (when not resisted) an AoE DoT aura that keeps stalkers at bay in Warburg and a relativly fast and hard hitting combat chain.
Not forgeting the minor but ever useful self heal and immob killer/foe slower :) |
Correct sir, SS/Fire is actually a very good PVP build and with just a thermal or sonic as support you can do amazing things. Carry lots of breakfrees :)

| QUOTE | | i would have to disagree. |
Sorry if this is a little late, not much of a forum person, but your wrong there buddy, i have a energy melee/electric armor brute, and i pwn regens all the time, my record for 1on1 duels with them is 10 wins and 1 loss, and it was too someone who knew what they were doing, and the fact they had their katana powers slotted with defense debuff which helped too. Electric Melee isnt the best set for a brute, yes it does sap their end away but even if you drain all their end by the time you attempt to kill them they will alrdy be healed, and rdy to go, electric melee just doesnt have the damage potential to kill a regen, from what ive seen atleast, though i may be wrong. oh and another thing, a Energy Melee Brute can 2 shot a regen with full fury and BU, ive done it before, just have to be quick about it.
