Well, while it pains me to say this, I am going to stop playing GW for a while. I have succumbed, like so many before me, to wow. While I have always questioned why someone would pay 15 USD a month to play, I wonder no more. The 14 day trial showed me that wow has a lot more to do in the game. So while I enjoyed playing GW, it really cannot compare to wow, and vise versa. So now I will leave you guys here and give myself a semi-perminent slef exile to the wow side of gameamp.

WoW's a great game, I came back because I didn't personally like the grind (as i came over from runescape >.>) but i can easily see how some people love it.

Have fun in WoW, though I personally found it amazingly easy. Different tastes and the sort, though, drop by and visit :O
As for the talk of GW losing players to WoW, WoW has also lost a fair amount of players to GW, so, it does kind of go both ways.
They're both practically different games, despite the genre and "field" so to speak.

Cya Dude, i tried the 10day trial a while ago after waitng 2days for the client to dwnload =( then i bought the game mainly coz the client is on the disk haha and the 1st month free but i dont think ill completely abandon GW
i got a lvl 12 night elf rouge which they seem to be very similar to sins IMO with the combo point and sins with lead/off hand attacks =p

I don't see how you would like WoW though, I tried the 14 day trial and it was so.. Not-newb friendly and boring.
They tell me to go to some town, go do something somewhere.
I have no idea where that place it, I'm new! At least give me a map with a pulsating green star or something.
(And if there is a map it doesn't tell you how to open up the map)
I got lost so I jus sat there killing boars and spiders.. fun fun.. :\

Good luck in WoW, you'll love the change of pace and gameplay,and there's no reason why you can't drop back into Guild Wars now and again :)

if nightfall is boring then WoW is nothing i played it with 14 days trial.When i made my first char i was surprised with terrible bad graphix and stupid quests and i just killed some ugly monsters arround and i understand that and the gameplay is terrible.No green stars for quests noone explain u how to play.But i mostly hate the grafix and chars(very ugly)and the gamaplay

True.. But I dont think they lost a lot compared to how many people play it.. WoW recenlty reached 8 mill, GW is on 1 mill.
I think WoW is a much better game then GW.. purely because you can do a lot more in it.. HF with WoW may your drops be blue.. yes blue and eventually purple.. yep not gold or green ;P

Well I say good luck to ya but i think My 15$ dollars a month can go to a better use. You know once you play WoW your so-called life is over because all your going to do is play that freakin game.
$15 a month for the year = $180 total in spending wastining time reaching the lvl 50 cap. Screw that. And that you have to buy both WoW & WoW burning crusade 100$ more dollars. 15 dollars monthly you sit at home daily inside your lil hermit hole getting fat not doing anything. You speak to no one but your lvl 25 Paladin your desperately trying to make Uber-Powerful. LOL you WoW nerds kill me
Guild wars = Hmmm 30-50 per campaign. Free subscription. Pvp is a lots of fun. Dont have to worry about senseless guild raiding(WoW)! GW the PvP RpG. Sure the questing can get boring at times, but if your like me, it should not matter because your just looking for skillz so you can make a great build to take down certain classes. Its all about PvP anyways!
My 15 dollars month going to Gas, Food, Movies, or Clubs you know the things tha people in real-life do. Not nerding it up in a fantasy world.
Well anyways, I know your not going to listen to me but you will feel it once your like 30 and you wonder what the sun looks like because you dont leave the house or maybe you suddenly start losing touch with reality because everyone you see looks like a Night Elf. But hey who cares! Have Fun !!

I dunno how you play games but that aint healthy, it sounds like you write that all down from your own experience.. o_O You hear a lot about WoW addicts but thats just because there are a hell of a lot of WoW players in general.. so yeah you have more addicts then other MMO's too.. But ive seen play times in signatures from GW people that were absolutely staggering aswell..
You dont have to buy the expansion, you can still play without it :S
The monthly fee is doable for me and i also think its worth it..
I think posts like DZA are plain dumb.. That you dont like WoW ok.. That you think WoW addicts are crazy.. well.. yeah ok in a way.. But thats not the way to post it.. with a post like this i would think you are either very jealous or just extremely pissed off that you cant play WoW yourself for whatever reason.. Or both.

People, don't flame other games; everyone has different playing styles, and if you can't avoid saying things like "WoW is for nerds" or things like that, then just don't comment. This thread is supposed to say "See you later" to a Guild Wars player, so please... once again, avoid flaming other games.
Personally... I'm playing FFXI, the monthly fee is pretty similar to WoW's one, but well... I like the game ^^
Even though it's very old, it keeps updating and well, the GMs are pretty active =P

Indeed, each to their own. As GuildWars players we do have to admit that we are in the minority when compared to monthly fee-MMO's such as WoW. There is a heck of a lot of content in Wow, and you sure do pay for it. But that's out of choice of everyone there. If they thought it was overpriced etc then half the people wouldn't play it.
I wish you luck in your endeavors in WoW, and will just end in saying that 90% of the people I know who have left guildwars for other games have come back to it in the end :P

First of all, bye bye to Allanon6666. It almost saddens me to see you go but then again: Welcome to the WoW corner of GA! :D

Second of all: All this moaning about no lifers in WoW:
Let's put it this way: You hear about them and you see them on the telly. How many do you know or have seen? 1? 2? Or perhaps even 3? Even if you know 1000 WoW addicts, that's still statistically less than 1% of WoW players.
How many million players did WoW have again? 6? Well, you know what I mean. :)
Monthly fees? ZOMGPEWPEW! 15 bucks! NOWAIYESWAI!
That 15 bucks really won't kill you. If it does, cut down on all the sweats and candy you might spent it on. Or booze and cigarettes. You spend it on gas for your car? Well, then you can start to walk more and drive less (shorter distances, of course), that way you'll get your 15 bucks for the monthly fee AND get some healthy excercise. :)
It's just the way you want to see it. Everyone has some useless expenses like mentioned earlier.
No one forces you to play hours everyday. I'm happy to pay the 15bucks/month even if I don't get to play but a few hours per week, due to school other stuff. O.o

I think you're confusing WoW with some other game, first of all the graphics are very nice they are just different from what you're used to and the landscape best I have ever seen, and yes I have played GW for a long time (since it came out), and you're right no green stars on the map for the quests but where's the fun when you know where everything is, also try reading the quest log they do give you some direction...

First of all level cap is 70, (sounds like you have never played WoW) You do not have to buy both games, and WoW costs $19.99 and BC costs $39.99 so that's $59.98, and well you have no place to talk like that about other people, it makes you sound like... what's that word? oh right *******, try growing up and don't talk like that when you do the same thing, you sit there play your game and you care just enough to come here post an ignorant post like this, that doesn't make you any less of nerd than anyone here, also I believe that's called prejudice and I believe that makes you racist, so not our fault you weren't loved when you were/are a child.
And believe me most people here have jobs and a family to care and take care of, so don't come here talking like you're better than anyone else, also I do think all the bs you have said come from own experience, just a hint you know too many details...

Xaviak is right.. WoW now has over 8 million players.. only a very very small part of those 8 mill players is addicted. Blizzard has done a lot to make it less ''time consuming''. TBC has a lot of stuff done differently to decrease the organisation time for for instance dungeons.. Also the parental control gives you the option to set a certain play time for instance 20 hours a week (omg.. thats not very much ;P)
But this is gettin heavily off topic and he deserves a propper bye, not a big discussion about WoW :P

Yes, you are right about being able and free to say negative opinions about other games, and yes flaming is not, but is it right to come here and say that people that play WoW are fat and never even see the light of the day and call them nerds in a derogative way right?
When in fact most people here have no idea how each other's lives are, when most of us have to get up and go to work, school, college and some of us have families to support and maybe just when we get home we like to do something that will make us forget even for a little bit of all the responsibilities that we have to take care of and worry about, not necessarily play a game but watch TV, go to the gym, drive your sports car, play soccer or go out with your friends, well I just think it's pure ignorance to come here and say things about other people when you have no idea, about all the things we do in real life for the people we care about.
And I'm sorry, bye and I do hope you enjoy WoW, just like how I am :D
