2.0 Attack Speed for all Pets on WoW???

Please tell me that the hours and hours I spent finding BT was not just a waste of time?

If there is no more pet advantages for rare spawns other than looks, then Bliz just took a huge chuck of what makes a hunter such a fun class, away from us!

Grrrr.

Welcome mate :) I agree it makes the hunter less fun.. I think it was great that the attack speed differs at every beast..

Ok, lets assume that Bliz, in their infinite wisdom, decided that a 1.0 attack speed is killing too many casters. They don't have time to heal, or do much of anything. Suddenly they are disadvantaged and the hunters are too strong. Well, I have some suggestions for Bliz that will carry this argument to the next level:
- Rogues should never have a dagger that stabs faster than 2.0.
- Casters should never have a wand that attacks faster than 2.0.
- Warriors should never have a sword that attacks faster than 2.0.
As a matter of fact, lets get it where all weapons and attacks of any kind are all 2.0 attacks per second. Lets make all the classes and races completely even, so that they cancel each other out. That way we could all just flip a coin when entering battle grounds and decide the outcome ahead of time.

I like it the way it used to be... We love priests because they can heal us the best. We love our druids because they can heal us and help tank. We love pali's because they can empower us to win battles, heal, rez and tank. Good. We love our warlocks because they can get us around faster. We love our rogues because they can sneak in and check things out. We love our hunters because they can pull and kill enemy casters and rogues fast. We love the classes for what they can do, that we cant. If bliz keeps going, then pretty soon, we will learn that all life must be egalitarian or it is not worth living and handicap us all.

Bliz, stop listening to the whiners and complainers and listen to the voice that made you great. Build us a game where if you work hard, do your research, and become game-smart, then you will win and you will dominate. Just like real life. Don't homoginize it so much that you turn off the really talented people from playing. They are the ones that give the rest of us, something to shoot for.

a warrior, rogue and casters (except the lock) dont have pets.. your pet does an attack speed of 1.00 for instance and you also attack.. which makes it allmost impossible for a caster to do anything.. and believe me i know. So i agree with you 50% :P I agree that it ruins some fun of the hunter.. but i also agree that the hunter is overpowered in that way.

I dont think making all pets equal is all that bad.

yes it does take the fun out of tracking down a amazing elete pet, but it also stops everyone getting those pets.

I cant tell u how many times people have told me to ditch my Nightsaber from the starting zone "kitty" and get (insert eliete pet name here) because he is way "L337er". honestly, i like my pet and dont plan on changing it unless i find another i like.

Yes it stops the fun of finding eliete pets, but it also stops hunters from feeling like they need the elete pet to be strong.

Thats a very good point too.. You said at first that now pets only differ for there looks.. But now it atleast gives you the freedom to go for the looks :)

I think that mages are just the best, cause they can tank like no one else... oh! This is the thread about hunters and having their pets nerfed? oh crap ^^

Ok, I'm serious now, I don't think it's that bad, at least when a less "leet" hunter faces an uber "leet" hunter, the one with the best looking pet will win O.o

I wouldn't call them unique moves, but certain pets can only learn certain skills. Like a bear can't learn the lightening breath thing that the flying snakes do (yeah, I'm sorry I don't remember the name of them).

Yes, cirtain pets come with abilities, which u can investiagte using Beast Info ability (hunter only), it will give u all the info on the pet including what abilities it has.

although i think if u tame a pet, it has an ability a older pet of the same type doesnt have, u can teach it to your old pet as well.

I never cared for the speed of a pet, I always went with the usefulness it had. I solo'd a lot with my hunter, Stringy, so I decided I wanted a tanking buddy. Ta-da, I found a gorilla! I realize that the attack speed does help a lot against casters in a battle, but wouldn't that extreme attack speed only help a warrior get more rage when fighting him, thus making him hand you your butt on a silver dish faster?

Oh well, I personally never cared for attack speed super pets such as Broken Tooth, I always went utility over damage. But if you'd like to learn more about some of the pet world and skills they learn, go to Petopia to learn more. Great site, plenty of info, helped me find Kranky!

I can see, however, why they changed the rates to a slower attack speed. If I had Broken Tooth, and had a beastmaster build, he could attack at a .8 rate. Add that in with a dual wielding hunter and spells would never get cast, lol. So now, to have a "leet" pet, you must actually dive into beastmaster to have him that way. I think it does more good than wrong for doing this.

Well there is still a reason to get elite pets....most elite pets have higher ranked abilities than there normal counterparts. Like take bellygrub for instance he is an elite boar that can be found outside lakeshire in the redridge mountains. He comes fully equiped with charge rank 3 wich at that level I don't remember seeing on the norms. So there still is a reason for them...albeit a lesser reason but there still is reason to it...plus they just look way kooler than those regular ones. But don't feel bad they nerfed shadow priests too.

There are still pets that attack faster than 2.0, can't tell you where because I want to keep my edge for as long as possible but trust me, they're there.

My pet attacks at a 1.0 speed w/o talents boosting that. It's a wonderful treat when a caster wets themselves because "ZOMG WTF THATS NOT 2.0 SPD!!!" :) I love it.

Are you yankin our chains, kyo, cause last i checked, when blizard makes a change to a class/pet/mob/whatever, they usualy don't make exceptions, especialy when it concerns balance issues.

Sure would like to see a screen shot of that. If you tamed Broken Tooth (as I did) and he still has 1.0, then I would like to complain to Blizzard that they didn't equalize the attack speeds on pets, accross the board, as they said they would and only changed a select few. It would help me a lot.

I think it's lame that they changed it too. I tamed Shy Rotam expecting a 1.5 attack speed and got a 2.0. So it's the same as King B, which I had before. I just had to start all over gaining loyalty. I don't believe that any are less than 2.0 unless someone can submit a recent screen shot. If there are 1.0's out there, I WANT ONE :)

I don't see how a screeny will help any, it won't show how fast they attack(I don't think speed is in the pet window anyways). It was a pet I tamed after the change and no please don't complain to Blizzard, that will just end the faster pets, it sure as hell won't get you a faster attack speed BT.

If you can't find a faster pet there are things you can do to make yours attack pretty fast.

1. Take the Serpent's Swiftness and Frenzy talents.
This will increase the attack speed of you and your pet drastically.

2. Get Arcanums of Rapidity on your helm and legs, and a Haste enchant on your gloves.
You may take a small DPS hit by doing this but if you really want that fast pet this is the way to go, your pet gets a portion of your gear stats and this includes haste so look for it.
