| Outfitter, but dont get the material |
|

|
Hi, started to try out outfitting, but dont realy get how it's done. Been collecting material from animals, and then turn each 20-pack into some sort of material (sorry for not remembering what them are called...). Well, after learning all I could from the outfitter trainer I still cant do anything. Them few recipies I do have ask for some other material, but dont have and dont know how to get it. Is there a way to refine the material from them 20-paks even further, as copper becomes Copper Ingots? How then? Have found no way of doing that.
Sorry for this very very odd and strange input :)
Hope someone can make sense of it... hehe...
Other from that... awesome game, enjoy it plenty :))

Hi Gerrig, welcome to GameAmp.
I am an outiftter too, and I ran initially in the same problem. You can't really do anything with the materials you have collected. At least not until later, I guess/hope.
After the initial steps of the trainer and the utility vendor you have to learn recipes. That part you have already covered. The orders it shows from the recipes are not useful. You need to get work orders. There are two taskmasters walking around in the crafting area, you will have to ask them for work orders. They have a whole list of hunderds of jobs you can actually do. They range from easy to difficult. Those are the tasks you should take. And they are actually profitable.
As you do those orders you level up, you can get more recipes, and I guess eventually we will figure out how to make these other orders. Or hopefully somebody will give a task where to find them. I am so far only level 6, so I don't know everything yet. But start looking for the taskmasters and life will be good!

and I have to claim I just recently picked up on the fact that mounts could carry and protect gear so my alt will almost certainly be an outfitter and will enjoy crafting carry items like bags in addtion to armor. Thanks for starting the thread and look forward to more great ones like this one here in the Vangaurd section of GameAmp.

Yup this game uses work orders to gain levels. I kind of like that as the work order providers supply the resources for it.
But if you want to make something "real" from a recipe you need to harvest those supplies. So for the copper ingots you mention, it's harvest the raw from the copper node, turn the stack of 20 into the "better" copper material (can't remember the name), and then use the refining station and a recipe to create copper ingots.
It is good to remember too that each crafting profession has two subcategories. You choose the main profession, Artificer, Blacksmith, or Outfitter, and then choose a subcategory -
Artificer: Carpenter or Mineralogist
Blacksmith: Armorer or Weaponsmith
Outfitter: Leatherworking or Tailor
You'll be able to get advanced recipes for your main category, i.e. leatherworker, but only basic ones for the other, tailor.
