| Salvage when not in SG Mode? |

Does anyone know if you get salvage when you belong to an SG but are not in SG mode? This is something I was wondering just now and could not remember if you do or dont.

There's only one case I recall, in CoV where you get a bit of salvage for completing a mission in the early game, regardless of whether you're in a SG or not.
However, in general, you only get salvage if you're in SG mode...which never really made sense to me.

I'm pretty sure that Ron's got it right. Out of SG mode, you shouldn't get any salvage at all, except for the first story arc from Kalinda in the very beginning of CoV.
To me it makes sense: why would you, as a hero/villain, want to collect salvage on your own, if you're not supporting a super group?
"I don't need that Fir Blog hand"
possibly something about how the public would view you:
"Did you hear about Hero74656?" "no, what?" "He took the hand off a fir blog!" "how dare he!"
as opposed to
"Did you hear about Hero74656?" "no, what?" "He took the hand off a fir blog!" "of course he would, he's salvaging stuff for the group he belongs to, 'The Federation' ". "oh. what can you make with a fir blog hand?" "don't ask me. i'm sure the tech boys in 'The Federation' know what to do with it, though."
kind of make sense?

Actually, I have on occasion gotten salvage drops when not in SG mode. It was usually a case of being on a team at the time or in the midst of a TF, but it does happen now and then.

I dont know, it seems like it would make sense to get it from day one. That way you have salvage that you have recieved from missions and can use it if you start your own base. I usually try to get on an SG just so I can start getting salvage for when I figure out what it is I want to do.
