| Ranger Second Profession?? |

hey guys,
ive bin having a little trouble lately, im trying to decide a 2nd profession for my new found ranger, im stil trying to decide and cant get any further!!
this is where you guys come in! i have narrowed it down to either: MONK NECRO or MESMER...
any advice on which one of these i should choose and why would be really helpful, with possible builds i could use later on!

(P.S if any of u think i should use a different build with a reason to why, let me know! THX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Rangers are pretty dang good on their own. I usually run a R/Mo with all ranger skills except rebirth. But I personally think the best addition to the ranger primary is mesmer. There are some skills in the mesmer line that complement the ranger very nicely.

R/N - Then you can make a Toucher! :p
But seriously it depends how you play, imo Rangers are like the Swiss Army knife of GW. They do everything kinda well but nothing better than any other class.
R/N if you like playing with conditions
R/Me can be an awesome interupter + use Mes stances
R/W stances again & perhaps some Adrenalin skills since bows chare that V fast
R/Mo for a great all rounder
Check Wiki for builds and see what you like the look of, you can always change it later.

ok thx guys, not gonna make any certain choices right yet, gonna give people a chance to say what they think!
thx again! gary.
P.S checked out GW wiki and definitely like the idea of a touch ranger, so any other builds that affect conditions in the same way would be great! (not just r/n btw!)

Keo makes an excellent point. They really are the swidd army knife of guild wars. I would not use Monk as a secondary with ranger, that experience didnt sit very well with me :p
Necro would be a great choice although you may encounter energy troubles.
And mesmer, hmmm... In all seriousness i would only ever use mesmer as a primary, apart from with a Monk, a Mo/me is effective but not with a ranger i think.
Necro should be your choice. but, it is YOUR choice and it depends how you play.

yet again! great advice!!! thx a lot guys!
i think i might just go with necro, and apparently touch skills are affected by expertise, so this might counter energy problems, also insignia etc wil help counter the energy!

gratz with youre R/N
i have an R/N to, but the only necro skill i used was faintheartedness, that helped well
especially for 1vs1
the rest of my skills, were bow skill, mostly skills that cause bleeding, so the 1 who i attacked, had a -6 health generation (bleeding + faint)
build:
beast mastery - 0
wilderness survival-0
marksman ship - 12
curses-12
no runes

I made my ranger a long time ago but just now started to play her. :) I made a R/E .. a Elemental Barrage ranger". works well but plan on making some other builds with her with other secondary class. ^^

Well they do shoot better than anyone else. But, I agree, they are the most versatile class out there with expertise.

well i am both R/mo and R/me and i use R/mo for mainly condition removals. all ranger cept mend ailment or rebirth. I can also be a very effective one with live vicariously + barrage.

Doesn't matter. AT ALL. You will find that as you develop your character, you change secondaries at least once a day depending on the area, build, and whatever playstyle you feel like that day.
