That graphics card is a little weak. I sugguest at least getting something close to this.
That motherboard supports a PCI-X graphics card, so why not get one? After rebates, its only about $34 more. And you will get a lot better performance out of it.

-To start off 250gb is a good start, but I always try 2 hard drives, not for RAID (I didn't notice much) but just for organization...I'm crazy like that. I also dislike WD because 2-3 were DOA for me. Although I do have an 80 thats held up for 2 years.
-I can't find the latency on your RAM so I can't tell if you are getting a good or bad price for 1gb.
-Case looks very nice, but a fair warning...built-in Power Supplies are pretty notorious for going out.
-I've never heard of MachSpeed before, although I tend to stay in the boundries of famous mobo companys such as Asus or Abit.
-I absolutly love the AMD X2 series. I have a 4600+ and a friend 4800+. Excellent choice
-If you take your time and wait for some sales, you could get a 19" moniter for easily under 150 US dollars.
-G series is awesome
-I also have an FX-550 our old dell, Its alright.
Overall a decent setup. I would check into a few things first however. Firstly, check reviews on that specifc WD model hard drive and see if you see a pattern of failures before purchase. Second, check the RAM latency, Ideally you want a CAS latency of 2-3, lower the better. Third I highly reccomend the ASUS A8N SLI 939 motherboard. It is under 100 US dollars but well worth it. I've built 3 computers with that mobo as a base and all of them have run flawlessly.

Ben is always my first place to shop for anything. Great prices on good stuff, often its only a few dollars with rebates and such
Pricegrabber.com
Check the prices on your items, you may find it somewhere for 20 US dollars less. Watchout for shipping and taxes however.
Good Luck on your computer!

I definately agree that you should use a PCI-x videocard as they're the better performing ones available. Also, I'm a little bit worried about the motherboard, I haven't heard of Mach Speed Technologies Inc, however I did some checking around on their website.
One thing that stuck out is that they have won no major awards or recommendations for any of their product line since they started in 1989.
Since the PC Chips debacle a few years back, I've been very wary of smaller companies, as they tend to have very poor support and RMA departments, and if you're in need of a BIOS update or driver patches, they're almost never there.
If you're looking for a lower cost board, go with AOpen at www.myaopen.com . They've been making products for a long time and have very good products.

Actually Smurf, how much are you looking to spend? Maybe we can help you find a nice deal. Also, what exactly are you looking to do with the machine?

This is what I did when I first started building computers.
Go to ABSPC.com or Cyperpowerpc.com and "build" yourself a computer to something that suits your price range. Then use pricegrabber.com and other sites to find the parts that you used to "build" your computer for a much lower price. Its way to make a good template and get some extra experience on parts. But I do not suggest buying from them, simply because building your own computer is much, much more fun.

So around 1200 US dollars? That is what I spend, sin moniters (got to love after thanksgiving sales though). My setup is
Thermaltake Armor Case (HUGE, and nice) $110 on sale
Ultra X2 Powersupply $80
Asus A8N SLI-Deluxe Mobo $110
AMD x2 4600+ $230
(x2) Samsung DvD burners $60 (30 each)
EVGA Nvidia Geforce 7900 $240
Floppy Drive $8
(x2) Maxtor Hard Drives 120gbs $120 (60 each)
Corsair Xtra low latency 2GB $280
I "borrowed" a moniter from a friend until I could buy my big ol' 22"s (yes I have 2 22"ers <3) and I used the keyboard and mouse from a friend and planning on a new mouse soon.
I set myself up very nicly, but I took over 5 months to buy all the parts at the preces I wanted to pay from them. And I didn't pay tax since I ordered out-of-state and free shipping was a criteria when I bought it.

I would have a flat screen, a PCI graphics card seeing as you can and slightly more than 250gb. If you play online games then it's not really enough. I've already used up my 250gb on my computer in 2 years. Maybe you could buy a 1tb external hard drive or something to give you more options in the future.

Is there a FutureShop close to you? That's where I got my g/f's computer and it does fantastic with GW. This one comes with Windows Vista, so I'd use the left over funds to buy a gig or two more memory:
