-I have been trying to figure out to completely turn off water effects so that its a static image or to GREATLY decrease these efefcts. the game with my current config plays REALLY well up to 75 FPS, but AS SOON AS i get near water, lava any water effects it goes down to 23 and the game play goes slow till i leave the vacinity of the water effects. i have already tried config numebrs for water effects and also tried in game mene changes to dumb down the water effects. Does any one have an idea or solution to not have water effects AT ALL? or even replacement image/bumpmap/effect files for this? I have tried MULTIPLE config files and settings like mentioned before and that has not put this issue to rest.
Machine Setup:
-AMD Sempron 2800+(yes i knwo not a gaming CPU)
-BFG Tech 5500 OC 256 MB Video Card AGP 8X
-1 Gig of DDR 3200 Memory
-200 Gig Hard Drive with 170 gig free
