I have a MA invul scrapper and I must say that invul is not so good. Was it ever any good? Any solutions advice or whatnot.

It's never been particularly good.
The problem is, it's a secondary resistance set. So the resistance is about 80% as effective as if it were a primary set...
Because of this, and the fact that Scrappers have noticably less hitpoints than tankers, Invuln becomes a crappy secondary. :/

I recently made a spines/invul scrapper, and I haven't really had any issues with it. I prefer it to playing regen which doesn;t suit my play style. And my /SR, which i love, is a real endurance hog compared to him. Maybe the issue is what powers you take as you go up in levels?

It's really one of those power sets that just has to suit the way you play. It's not great, but it's not bad either. Each of the secondaries for scrappers has good points and bad. I for one love regen, but I hate the fact that it has almost no real defense to it until you get MOG.
Some people love invul, and others hate it. You just have to figure out if it fits you or not.

I have a katana/invul scrapper, lvl 50. he is by far my best alt. he takes damage great. I must say though at earlier lvls, like at lvl 21 & lower he wasn't that great. but once you are able to put SO's in the enhancements, it got so much better. I love it, I can take so much damage & give out plenty of it too. wouldn't trade out invul for anything. but having unstoppable helps quite a bit if I get overwhelmed in a fight. just be careful of the side effect from it. =)

Invul is great. I don;t know what level your scrapper is, but invul rocks. Get him up to level 26 or so then make a judgement. INvul is one of my favorites for scrppers and tanks.

I was rather surprised by the Invul set, it was really endurance light. Whenever I make a new toon i'm usually the 1st one taking a knee, or eating a blue. With Spines/Invul, I was able to focous on a streamlined build from the get go. It was a bit tough going for a good while with only 2 attacks, and finally build up and spine burst later, Sands of Mu FTW! He just reached 27 and has ripper and cruises through mishes eating insps only when going from group to group for a prolonged time.

I know I'll be taking Tough hide once i get to it on mine. I'm used to defense based armors, and anything to help negate Unyeilding's -def is a plus in my book. I'm considering Elements since Fire, and especially cold is quite popular in PvP, and toxic, although not encountered often, is always annoying to deal with.

On scrappers I usually take everything in the set, Tanks I skip resist elements and/or resist Energies.

imo i think that invul not the best, i think that regan and SR are the best for the scrappers...however i do have a spines/invul, only for herding and PL'n. Spines is the only set that i'd take invul with other that that take something else

Well I decided to stick with it and here's my build. Any help and or advice would be appreciated. I didn't take Dull Pain because I think Aid Self is more useful because it comes up more often.

I'm with Path And Starwolf on the Dull Pain, I have it on my tank and it's a real handy thing to have, for those times you solo or when the healer is a tad overwhelmed.

As someone who usually plays both defenders and scrappers, I have to agree with Path, Star and Dead. I'm not fond of Dull Pain, but there will be times when the healer/defender gets overwhelmed. Trust me on that one....especially when there is only one healer on a team of 8.
The other comment I would make about your build, having played with MA quite a lot, is that Crippling Ax Kick and Cobra Strike are pretty meh in my book. Gothprince on Infinity is MA/regen at level 35, and I respeced out of Cobra Strike quite some time back. Disorient is nice, but most of the other attacks in the set have a good chance of the same effect and deal damage as well. I had Crippling Axe Kick on him for a long time, but I started to notice that I rarely used it and eventually respeced it out. The animation is too long for a rather low damage yield.
Thunder Kick, Storm Kick, Crane Kick, Dragon's Tail and Eagle's Claw are all you really need for a steady chain of attacks and decent DPS IMO.

I agree with Knick on the powers to leave off only if you are Higher then 20. One thing about cobra strike which is very very nice. Yes it does not do that much damage, but it is a disorient. When I use mine it never fails. Even on boss's. My MA/Regen is 50. Have tried all the powers. I personally have all the attack kicks and cobra strike. They are all very useful in different ways. Crip axe kick you use after you disorient or knockdown the person you are fighting. Does good damage IMO. Also for invuln take your passives. If by chance you have your toggles knocked off you will be happy to have some resistance without endurance cost. And take dull pain with First aid if you can somehow fit it in there. Just try things out on the test server and see what you like for each build.

My main is an invu-tank (almost Lvl 50) and I would recommend to take every single power in the set.
Full slot dull pain and invincibility.
Dont't underestimate the auto powers.
The resistences really make a difference.
I tried it once, respected them out and replaced it with other powers.
The damage I took obviously increased.
My health never before dropped that fast.
Some Death Mage almost killed me and Behemoths were a danger all of a sudden.
So I respected back to my original build and everything was fine again.
Invu isn't a set for the careless players, but a great one for all who want to solo often.
I'm listening to real music.
Real Rock, real Gothic, real Rap, real Soul, real Funk...etc
(If you feel insulted by any of my posts.
Remember first, that I'm not writing in my native language.
You might missjudge me.)

ok was invuln ever any good, i would say it was once the best set and did what it said on the tin, esp in tanks, it got nerfed in I5 and i cried as i was currently lvling my invuln katana who was 39 now 41 thats how little i have played her since invuln was nerfed, its been called the biggest nerf in coh, and i would agree. it used to be super uber.
