Sometimes when I play CoV my computer freezes up, I get kicked and can’t log back in. This will happen to me 3 or 4 days out of a week. And I will get a pop-up window from my PC that says “Virtual memory is to low” when CoV crashes on me. I know there will be lag in CoV but I always feel I am getting it worst then anyone else. There have been times during peek playing hours that my PC will freeze up and I cant play for a few hours. I have turned down my graphics in CoV and run in “Safe Mode” also. When there are a few people playing I can load into a mission in 6-8 seconds, often beating other players who entered before me. I only play on the Pinnacle server. I get most lag traveling in zones, entering the VG base and when I team with a lot of MM’s.
When I surf the internet my computer runs fast. Downloading porn and music only takes me a few minutes, depends on size. And playing pool on Yahoo goes fast. But CoV is my first on-line RPG and I am not sure how much lag is normal.
I have had computers in my house for 12 years and have been on the internet since AOL was charging by the hour. I have never taken any formal classes for PC’s but I can fix most problem myself.
My computer is 4 years old. I bought it at an electronic store, it was a factory box computer, nothing special. When I bought it it fit my needs at that time, surfing the internet, music and porn. It had 512MB of RAM, I increased that to 1 GB almost a year ago because of CoV. That was the only upgrade I made to it. I know the video card sucks and would consider replacing it if that was the problem. I run the Defrag, Disk Cleanup, virus scan and spy ware checker once a week.
My computer has :
Windows XP
AMD Athon XP Processor 2.20GHz
1 GB DDR RAM Memory
160 GB Hard Drive with 95.5 GB Free
Intergrated NVIDIA GeForce MX 64MB Graphics Card
Cable Internet with almost 4 Mbps
Is it CoV lag or a P.O.S. computer?
Am I the only one who has this much trouble with CoV lag?
Is the lag I am getting normal for CoV?
Should I get a whole new computer or will updating the video card fix the lag problem?
Does anyone have any naked pictures of Dr. Ruth?
Any feed back is helpful.

when it says your virtual memory is too low it means you pc will not be able to run the game any more, coming to this state to offten wil lcause your pc to burn out. Next tiem your on count how many loading screens you pc can handle before you get this popup, and then deduct two and make sure you use that as you total amontu of loading screens when you play CoV.
Failure to do so will lead to a slow death of pc and genreally run it down so you cant enjoy it as much :(

First thing you might want to try is increasing your virtual memory on your computer to do that go to start then control panel go to performance and maintenance then system then advanced then settings go to advanced again at that point in your window you should three sections the bottom will say virtual memory click on change then custom size and change it too initial size 1536 and maximum size to 3072 then click on set and okay you will probably have to reset your computer to make the settings stick. also by looking at your specs I would say your graphics card might need replacing that might be where some of your problems are coming from. You might also want to try going to Nividias official site and see if you need some updates on your video card drivers. Hope that helps
Thanks to Death Fetish for this cool "siggy"

Thank everyone for their advice ! ! I bought an $80 256MB video card. I installed it and played CoV for a few hours tonight and didn’t freeze up ! I have also increased the Virtual Memory. With the graphics set at the lowest, where they have been since I have been playing CoV, I get no lag. When I set all the graphics to the their highest settings I gets a lot of lag. But not even close to how bad it was before I got the video card. CoV just runs slower I don’t get disconnected or freeze up. I have made what I feel are the right settings for my computer to get nice graphics and not a lot of lag. I had no idea CoV had such wonderful graphics. I have been missing out on them since I got the game. Thanks again for your help !

Well here to tell ya, speaking from experience...the graphics are great, however, I can't enjoy them all :(
I had to change my Virtual Memory setting when I first started palying CoV, CoH was fine, but CoV kept crashing on me as well with the little message. Ever since I changed it, I had no problems with crashing (execpt when they have known issues they need to fix).
Glad to hear that you got a cheap upgraded card and can now play the game with less lag (until you hit Grandville that is).
