Check your in game options. Probably they got messed up somehow.

Checked, everything ok
Windows media not working too
master sound on and maximum
Album Of The Year IMO
Studies show that 92% of teens listen to rap. If you are part of the 8% that listens to real music then add this to your signature.
Nile is probably one of the best bands ever.

Make sure that your computer is not under warranty when you do this. If it is, you're best to call your computer dealer (Dell, etc.) and get them to help you through it.

^^ or u can do that, but i tend to think tis an o/s issue with drivers or the sound options menu (card is unselected) windows does that.

make sure your sounnd quality is on max.
Edit----
If it is, try it on a different level. I used to run GW on half quality sound and then it started cutting out. the problem was fixed when I set it to max quality sound.

If you're using a prebuilt system such as a dell or gateway (I'm assuming you are because if you built your own you'd know what to look for) then you should locate your audio drivers on the disks that came with your computer and reinstall them. If the sound didn't come back after rebooting, and the settings haven't been changed then you either have a driver glitch or your board went out on you. Reinstall your sound card and see what happens.
Also try reinstalling directx as well. This should cover all of your bases. After you get the drivers reinstalled check all of the audio settings in my computer and in the windows taskbar audio section. Make sure they're all set to on. If that doesn't fix your problem then your audio card might have screwed up on you.
Before you go freaking out try to find someone you know that has extensive experience with computers to take a look at it for you. Never trust the people at places like best buy or the like to fix you up for the minimal cost. They get paid to sell you upgrades when you have a problem whether you need it or not.
After you have a friend look at it and you reinstall the drivers come back here and post again.
