Ok, I know that there have been a few ideas offered and jumped on of late, and many of you may be saying "What? Another one?" However, I ask you to hear me out. This is not really my original idea, but it is one that I came in contact with before I ever joined you all here.
The idea came from a PuG, yes, one of those, that I ran some missions with on Pale Walker sometime last year. I had forgotten about it until tonight because at the time I didn't have anyone to try the idea with without making them all myself. Ok, I know, enough of the long winded rambling and out with the idea already.
The SG that I came in contact with on Virtue is one where all the toons in the group were based on the signs of the Zodiac. Mostly, they were male and female versions of the standard zodiac, i.e. Leo, Virgo, Aries, etc. I was thinking that we could do something like that only add the chinese zodiac into it as well for the extra options.
It's something that I've wanted to try out since I think it would be fun. We could make it on a server where we don't commonly play like Liberty, Freedom or Pinnacle, to name a few. Part of my reason for suggesting this is that Triumph is full for me, and it would be nice when an amper needs help on one of those servers to be able to help them out.
Ok, hit me with any ideas or critical comments. Let me know what you think. I will say that should this idea be something even a few of us decide to do, I claim the male Leo toon.

You just want company on Guardian, Star....lol.
I've been looking at SG listings on the servers, and most if not all have some sort of Zodiac SG though most seem to have one or few members in them by the prestige amount listed.

Well if you do decide to do it on Liberty Knick I can have my Sg coalition with you. We have 8 tp units with 2 beacons per unit. So you would pretty much have every zone you needed to go to. Just let me know.

Well, either Liberty or Guardian seem to be the best choices as it stands now. I think those were the servers with the least Zodiac related SGs too. The only thing lacking now is members to put in the roster and actually starting it.

The problem I am having is Alt overload. I dont want to make a character just to have one on a team so it will most likely sit there. I like the idea I have for Kona Creeper but I havent found myself drawn to playing him. And when I have logged on him nobody is on in the SG LOL. They are probably having the same problem. Apart from Thunder I dont know of any other ampers that are on Liberty. Maybe that is a thread I need to start LOL. Also if it is on Liberty I have very limited space for new characters. Since it is my main server.

I try to at least play my many different alts when I can. I tend to log onto a different character each time I sit down. Also, many times I first log on a support type character and see if any teams need help, then if I don't get a response, I switch to a hero I can solo.
So I end up playing many of the alts that I have. I try not to create heroes that I wouldn't enjoy playing. If I find that is happening, I will usually delete them.

Just a note: "The Zodiac Cartel" used to be an old Marvel Villian group that battled with "The Defenders" and Iron Man over the years ( among others ), so doing a Hero version would be cool and very interesting.

As much as I love themed supergroups, I can't participate. Between my GAA characters, my Daywalkers, the new Universe one and a variety of other alts, there's no way I have time to do yet another one.

How I love themed SG! and this one I could join; although not necessarily on a regular basis. But the idea of having an alt available to help others on any given server is good enough motivation for me.
Liberty would be best for me however, since I'm full on Guardian, my main server. but don't make any decision based on me, since I would probably not be the most frequent participant in the group (too amny alts and not enough playtime).
If I could join, I would play either under the Gemini sign (A controller with phantasm and phantom army comes to mind) or the Dog sign (with the classic SS/Inv tanker probably).
I'll keep in touch...

Wow, Marine. I had forgotten all about the Zodiac Cartel. It does make things more interesting. I was going to make my toon to start the group tonight, but Doctor Who took over my evening. I'll be making the toon and working toward 10 tomorrow to make the SG though.
I'm not sure yet what server I'll choose based on the responses, but I will say that the only criteria I would like to see in the names is that the sign the toon represents be in the name somehow. Ideally, I would like to limit it to one toon per sign until all 24 are represented, but I won't quibble over it if someone has a great idea for a sign that's already taken.
With that in mind, here's a list of the signs to be represented initially.
Classic Zodiac: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces
Chinese Zodiac: Rat(Mouse), Ox(Cow), Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig(Boar)
Feel free to lay claim to the one that suits you or that you have an idea for here on the thread. Not Leo though, I've already laid claim to that one....lol.
If anyone has ideas for a name for the group, let me know. Hopefully, I will have my Leo, fire/??? tank to ten sometime tomorrow evening and will be able to make the group.

Oh yeah, I meant to add one other thing. Don't worry, Ron. I know how you feel, but I'm sure we will eventually coax you into making one. If all goes well, the SG should be around for a good length of time.

I will take Libra, and make it an Empathy/ something defender.
This hero is all about balance. They can cause destruction and yet heal the wounds of others. It will all balance out. "I have weighed your deeds and found you to be guilty".

You probably want to decide for sure on a server knick. Oh and I decided I will make a new alt to be in the sg. What the hell. I am Lunar and I am an altiholic =)
Oh they dont have symbols for the animal zodiac do they. I am thinking about the rat/mouse one. I also want to claim Cancer for Korenlei. It is her Birthday month. If she wants to make the toon that is lol.
And swiss I like that idea you have for Libra, my birthday sign. =) Make me proud. =P

I can tell I'm still not awake yet this morning, because I thought for some reason that I had posted that on here already. I'm going to make the SG on Liberty, since of the servers mentioned that is the most commonly agreed upon server. That will also allow a coalition with your group, Lunar.
BTW, Lunar, do you actually get any work done at work? lol

Anyway let me know when you get the SG registered Knick. Then we can get the coalition set up. I will make my zodiac character tonight. Just have to figure out what powers and stuff. That and a Name lol.
What about a name for the SG something like
"The Zodiac of Paragon" Or something like that. Maybe
"The Heroes of the Zodiac" or
"I cant believe they are the Zodiac" or
"We are Zodiac, hear us roar" or maybe
"Zodiac Effect" or
"IF YOU SMELLLLLLLL WHAT THE ZODIAC IS COOKING" or
"Zodiac 316 says I just arrested your *Bleep*"
Okay maybe I dont have alot of work to do sometimes....is that a crime? =P

Thanks for the laugh, Lunar. I'm sure that you are very good at your job (whatever it is) and do it very well(when you work)....
I'll probably make Leo Knight as soon as the servers are up(fragging server maintenance). I tested a build out a little on test, and I'm loving it so far.
Oh yeah, I guess we need to figure out colors and all that too....
