| The London Congo - Red Nose Day 2007 |
|
|
|
Hi Guys,
I know I'm not really active on these forums anymore but I have to get the word about this event around, as some of you know Red Nose Day is back, this is the time of the year that people do stupid things to raise money for a good cause.
I wanted to do something this year so I thought I'd organise an event - I deicded on... a conga line.
All the info can be seen on www.olihaydon.com or www.myrednoseday.com/conga - But the basics are like so:
Meet at Trafalgar Square at 10.00am on Saturday 10th March
Start the conga at 10:30am
Follow the route through London past all the major London radio stations and attractions.
Conga ends at 4.00pm.
You dont need to come for the whole time but as long as you are there it will really help. You don't need to bring anything and if you want you dont need to get sponsored. Some people are just turning up as we have a collection bucket at the front of the conga where people can put in any change they want to donate.
I have contacted the radio stations and posted of loads of other message boards, I hope the turnout is enough.
Thanks
Oli

idea for spreading word: Take a bunch of sticky notes to a tube station and stick them on the escalators (you know, the really long ones.(also you will probably need to write something on these notes)).
Hippies do it with all their protesting malarkey so I don't think the people of London would mind someone putting something worthwhile on the walls.
Edit: on second-reading, I didn't mean stick the notes on the escalators themselves hehe. I meant the walls.
