So... if you click here, SwissArmy Game History you see a list of my heroes and pictures.
I started looking at my costume choices and noticed that I stay pretty basic with most of my outfits. I definitely have a preference for the basics tights outfit for most everyone. And I find that there is nothing there very dark or scary and if I add details to the costumes they too are very basic.
Do you find you have certain costumes or costume pieces you use more then others?
If so what are they? I need some ideas for different looks...
What have been your favorite costumes?

Oh how I cant wait till tyla comments about me on this thread ROFL. She is always telling me that I make the same type of costumes.
For me I have noticed that I like the dark vigilantee type hero. I tend to use sleeveless trenchcoats with hood. Then adjust with different armors and things from there.
Also I really like the techbot armor. Something about it. Thing about me is once I find a costume piece I like I seem to use it on EVERYONE lol.
I am trying to be different on my characters now. Constantly tweaking and changing there looks so they dont always look alike. I have been waiting so long to get wings for a character I have been wanting to make.
I also like alot of chest symbols and find myself wanting to use the same ones. Being an altiholic is tough.

Same here....XD
There are several combos of costumpieces I use pretty often.
I manage to make them look different, but some pieces stay the same.
Most often the basics...=P
Spandextights...jewelbelt....plain shoulderpads...etc.
Pretty rarely the fancy parts.
I like few eyecatcher on my toons.
I dislikde the player who try to put every spectecular costumpiece on one toon (painshoulderpads+trenchcoat+helmet+bikerboots+robotarms....etc).
PS:
But I get a lot of positive comments to my outfits.
Mostly because I'm straight and recognizable.
My heroes look heroic and my villains look mean.

i try to keep the theme the same for each toon. I like to keep it so it is visually recognizable who the toon is by keeping the head or other details the same throught its costumes.

All of the toons I actually play are each based on a concept. Often, like in the case of my Grav/Kin Posey Punk, the concept leads a certain direction in costuming.
When the concept does not automatically have an obvious costume coorelation, I start them out in fairly classic, simple costumes. My Storm/Elec is an example of this. His background of being a Ph.D candidate in Meteorology didn't seem like it had a natural costume coorelation. So his first costume was standard tights with one of the "Pattern #" patterns in Red and White, Bryce's (Path of Wrath's real name) two favorite colors. As he evolved over his career, so did his costume(s). Two of his costumes use the full Justice pattern (on tights because the armor is so clunky and un-Bryce-like). He also has a Hami costume to go along with Big, Raz, and Red and the whole X-Men motif.
I am very fond of the costuming aspect of the game. PoW has probably gone through something like ten costume changes...full costume changes. I very much like it whenever new costume items come out.
Path of Wrath - Storm/Elec/Elec Defender - 50
Miss Trinidad - Ill/Storm/Ice Controller - 50
Miss Cote d'Ivoire - Dark/Regen/Dark Scrapper - 50
Posey Punk - Grav/Kin/Stone Controller - 50
Mr. Azerbaijan - Kin/Psy Defender - 40
Laccolith - Earth/Rad Controller - 30
Geriatric Justice - Willpower/SS Tanker - 21

I'm the same way. My controller has the same goggles and Soul patch on his 3 main costumes. and my scrappers have the same, or very similar heads, with only minor differences.

Yeah, I tend to lean toward the classic costume design myself. I find that there are several pieces that I favor, mostly the folded style gloves and boots. The just have that retro feel to them...at least I think they do. I often receive compliments for my costume designs, so I guess I'm doing something right.

i tend to have very regal looks about my characters, and am influenced by a lot of Justice League stuff. I am a big fan if the Tanker (tops with skin) shirt for ladies, and Patent Leather or Metallic (often with either fat stripe 2 on legs, or starshot EVERYWHERE) everything for everyone lol.

Armor...that seems to be my M.O, Nas is always saying "another armored toon eh?" so as of late I've tried to move into the realm of tights and such. The one thing that carries over to all my toons is the fact that they all keep their faces completely covered.

I try my hardest not to make two toons the same. I go out of my way to design toons and outfits that I would hope no one would duplicate (tho that is not really possible).
Some particulars I am extremely fond of: 8 foot tall women. Clawed monster legs or hooves. Horns from shoulders or head. Veils. Facial tattoos or spots.
Recently I found that if I am out of ideas, I spend a little time hitting the random button on the costume screen to get some ideas. Most times there is something there that I can use as a base, or see a cool combination that I would never have thought to put together myself. What can be more random that putting a plaid skirt on a woman with a monster face, robot arms, cat ears, and heavy armor top?
My current favorites are Ixian and Tohrment, neither of which look like your typical superhero.
Lunar...I didn't even have to say a word.
