| First ever usable Items I crafted |
|
|
|
This is the first ever usable item I crafted. I was pretty excited about it since it was also another server first in Tanvu item.
What was strange though, I was forced into settling for B grade by some complications at the end of the crafting session for it, and yet, when it was done it came out an A grade item. Is this because I used all A grade materials for it? I still got the quailty bonus at the beginning of the session for using those materials though, so I'm not sure why it came out A when the crafting ended saying it was B.
Here's the second useable item I ever created which I promptly shipped off to a guildie since I couldn't use it. I must remember to take pictures of the item stats too before I ship them off.

Sweet! Nice work, master Merin.
On a completely different note, how did you manage to have so many button on your screen? Specifically the row with CS1 (ctrl-shift-1?) to CS=, and the vertical colomn on the right. That is pretty darn handy.

There are options in your interface settings to turn those on and off. I forget the actual name of the options at the moment, I think they were pretty straight forward.
I would have had the ones on the left too, but they cover up my spirit bond and finishing move (no that Umbral Burst is even worth having) buttons. I hope they fix that soon...
Something else I don't quite understand is the damage on the spear I made. It says 13-38 (14-43). What does the 14-43 in grey mean?

Could it be the very last step of the crafting process that gave you the grade A? The one where you use 100 points as opposed to the one with 0. I've noticed before that it seems to boost the quality of the item.
Just a guess on the grey numbers damage... but could it be related to your skill for that weapon? I've noticed we can equip pretty much any item regardless of what Level the item is, but maybe we don't get the full effect of it until we reach that level range? Again just a guess.

I suppose it could be that on the quality increase. I always assumed it was just a prevention measure. You know, pay the 100 ap to prevent losing quality on the last step, but I suppose you could be right.
As for the damage numbers, it shows that even when it's not equipped. Also, the second item I made that was unusable by shamans but also had the damage information in the same format.

The grey numbers in brackets for the spear represent its damage with the bonus from being "Kojan Style". Kojan style weapons start with +1 to piercing damage and it goes up the more pieces of Kojan gear you have. (Kojan style also adds bonuses to mental and physical spell damage)
As for why you got an A grade item when in your last step you were only at B grade... It is because the secondary component you used (the hilt or whatever it is for weapons) was grade A. The quality of the secondary component will pull your final grade up or down a bit depending on if it is higher or lower than the result you ended up with.
So in your case, had the secondary part you made been grade C, you would not have finished with a grade A item, it would have remained a B, or if you were very close to the C/B line, it would have dropped to a C.
Anyway, there it is. The refined resources you use give you the initial quality boost, and the secondary component you use gives either a bonus or a penalty at the very end after you finish. The 100 point action at the end doesn't give any bonus, it just prevents you from losing quality on that last step (since your only other option has a penalty) so it's always good to save the extra 100 AP if you can.
