Sick of people leaving the group right away in RA? I am dead sick of it... but here's my idea...
Maybe if you leave, it will penalize your faction... there's an idea. Discourage people from doing that... because it ruins pvp.
And if you're one to counter this idea with something like "what if you have to leave because something comes up?"
Come on... how often does that really happen.

Or how they do in DaoC (Dark age of Camelot), your character sits down and is immobile for twenty seconds before you are logged off. Simple yet effective in having the opposite team get the faction that they should earn.

The leaver title would be a good name. Say if you left x many games u get Leaver. If u get x+20 leaves u get Master Leaver. But that would discourage people from leaving the game so it's a very good idea! Saying that some people have to leave the game if they say had to go out or have dinner, also it could get confused with lost internet connection.

Uh, RA isnt even serious PvP so why care?
Edit: Imagine that you get in a group with 3 W/Mo, child is crying, wife is dying, phone is calling, cell-phone is calling, car is getting stealed, food is overcooked already, other children screams for food, third children needs you to drive him to his football. Would you leave your battle in RA and settle thing, or would you stay?
Just an example why some leave RA :-P

PvP is PvP in my opinion, the only thing that doesn't really count as 'real' PvP is Hero battles in my opinion.
Anyway I kind of like this idea but there should be restrictions to it. The player should only be allowed to leave during the timers at the end of the match and at the start of the match. Also if the match lasts for a long time say 5+ mins then the players should be allowed to leave with no penalty.
The problem with a Leaver title is that it would have to be forced onto you or else people could just turn it off. The title should only be shown in PvP arenas so that people know that you like to leave in RA etc.
But still people may have to leave cause of an emergency or other problems in RL. Parents may want you off the computer or you may have to go out. You could easily say just 2 more minutes but doing that kind of thing is what can start to ruin ya social life etc.

This sort of thing can happen a lot to people. People only leave RA cause they dont think they have a good team or if something has happened in RL. This may happen more than you think and it wouldn't be fair to punish those whose life could be going to the dogs just to keep 3 other people happy in a game.

wow all this fuss about RA leavers? i don't really see the problem with it...if you just play for fun and don't care about faction and stuff like that then live with the leavers, don't get angry...they just want a good team to earn gladiator points. i'm sure anet knew that there wud be leavers when the gladiator system was put into the game...i'm glad r3 myself and yes, i've raged alot, why? because simply, i planned my time and i didn't want to play in a team with mendin wammos or with other builds that can't bring it to 10 victories, because i don't care what the others say, it's just a game, i say sorry before i leave and i aint the only one...sure there are lots of 10 winning streaks with newbies in teams but those are nearer to exceptions and luck than skill. really, i don't see the problem, it's a random arena and nobody forces you to stay in the team, if u get a leaver, just leave too and enter again straight away and let other team be happy^^

Also about the leaving title, that would end up having more leavers actualy. Let's look at it this way:
RA "PvPers": 100
Title Hunter PvEers: 1,000,000,000
So the PvE people would just see this as an easy title to get and +1 against Koabd

Yeah,i love titles,there might auctually be parties of 4 just to enter and leave the game to get points,which would boast the other side but still might ruin the gamplay.

Well in other MMOs you're penalized for leaving. In WoW you get a debuff which stops all access to PvP for 15/30 mins (can't remember which one).

How often does something come up? A very very lot!! My grandad lives with me and my family, being a very ill man when my mother goes out to do shopping, or wants to go into town or some thing I'm normally the one looking after him (unless social services allow her carers). He will ring his alarm and I will have to help him, and this happens a very lot and can take up to half an hour to an hour! So I will normally have to leave....or just leech. What ever way your all ways going to have to moan at it.
Personally don't like the idea, and would hate it to be implemented (no offense) although I too hate leavers I don't think there should be some thing as harsh as that.

imo that's a pretty useless idea. I myself leave only because something happened in RL so i gotta leave unexpectedly. I really don't get what the fuss is. Things happen...
Also the title wouldnt be such a good idea because you cant see titles in PvP or missions and stuff. So what would be the point? I mean, you can't stop someone with a title of RA leaver from entering a RA match so when he's in your team u wouldnt even know.
People like freedom and this is the least serious PvP so just let em keep it.

That is the most narrow-minded statement about RA I've seen. PvP is still PvP, regardless of how you look at it. RA is just as intense as anything else. Maybe with less reward but you see the most originality in RA than anywhere else. I hate using cookie-cutter builds to get in a team which is why I avoid HA and, to an extent, TA.
Sorry if I offended but that's the way I feel. I love RA as much as you may love HA (if you do).

Now thats a bad idea. :) Then people will farm for that title so they have another title maxed. Also some would just farm it cause it will give them another title.. Nah just let it temporarily replace the title you have active.

I agree that the leaver title is a bad idea...
MY idea was that you should be penalized by either losing faction, or not allowed in pvp for 5-10 minutes
(if you are really leaving for something thats come up in RL, you won't need to come back for 5-10 minutes.)
That simply discourages the people that leave because they want a better team.
and the only people I ever encounter leaving are the ones who leave the second they join... and those are the ones that leave because they aren't happy with the players on their team.

what about banning you from the pvp-part of gw for half an hour or so... because if you really need to do something you will be busy doing that for at least half an hour i geuss...

umm I think if you get banned from PvP for a while the server should be able to distinguish between lagging out and leaving because some of my friends I know have really slow computers and if something happens they lose connection and it won't be fair if people like them get banned for losing connection
