| First Mastermind Questions |

Finally getting around to installing Villains and I've decided to make a MM; since it's basically the most unique toon in the game. I'm gonna go with Robots/TBD and I have some questions about my possible build.
How exactly do the minions keep up with you if you go faster than just sprint? If I super speed, super jump, fly, or teleport, will they get left behind?
For the "repair" skill at level 18. Is that the only way to heal them, or can I use aid other, or some other type of healing on them (say teaming with an empath corrupter)? They are robots after all.
If I were to go with invisibility from the concealment pool, can I just basically sit in the middle of a battle (AoE damage excluded) and let my robots just kill. Also, do they hold the aggro exclusively? Say they do get defeated, will the mobs just ignore me and reset back to their original locations?
Just a few questions I'd appreciate help with. With these answers I'll decide on a secondary and build my MM to level 50 from that.
Also, where can I get the most current database of powers? My HD died the other week and the current builder I have doesn't even have thugs in it's mastermind section, nor do I have electrical armour in the brute section. Thanks.

If you 'speed' far enough away from your henchies during travel they will respawn at that point. I'm not sure of the distance but I would have to place it somewhere in the neighborhood of 70-100 yards on Zone maps due to my own use of Teleportation and how far I have to go before they will 'respawn'. It appears to be a somewhat shorter distance on instanced/inside maps, but that could be just how it appears to me.

Healing and Repair are considered the same thing for game purposes. Personally, I have not used the 'Repair' feature on my Bots because I have the AoE heal in my secondary (Dark Miasma). If you are a Bubbler, or somesuch, you may wish to have the 'Repair' power or 'Aid Other' or just carry a boatload of Respites to drop on the Bots (yes, they do work).

Nice if it worked, but any 'Stealth' power other than one from your Secondary Powerset will cause the Bots to be unCommandable per the Devs. I believe they will also lose the bonus from your Inherent; 'Supremacy'. So, this is not a good idea. As far as aggro; unless it has changed, once your Bots are defeated the remaining mobs will seek you out like a dog after a steak.

Wish I could help you here, but I dont generally use a Character Planner (I'm too lazy to follow instructions even when I write them myself), and I 'wing it' most of the time just for fun. Perhaps someone else can direct you to the proggie.
Good luck, and have fun with the MasterMind.

Thanks for the timely reply. Couple of more questions for those answers :)
When you say "respawn", does that mean they reappear nearby me, or do I have to call them into existence again?
On the repair note. Do you have any trouble keeping your assault bot healed with twilight grasp? I've looked at a guide on here for robot/dark and they one person said that the assault bot had a good amount of HPs and that repair was better for it. Comes down to repair for 100% or twilight grasp for some 40%, but requires a victim.
No concealment, phooey! Does shadow fall and super speed kill communication also? Just sometimes, it'd be easier to just run to the end of a mission and touch a glowie, than to bring out the army and fight my way to the glowie. Probably quicker too, seeing as how it'll take a certain amount of time just to do the upgrades and such.
One last thing. I upgrade my account right? Just go under city of heroes and upgrade, put in the 20 digit code and I'll have access to city of villains and another 30 day of time added to the account. Want to make sure, I've heard of people getting screwed while doing this, anything from double billing to losing their vet rewards altogether.

The former of the two.

I'm not an expert on the Repair, but I can say that with over 400 points a pop, AoE capability, and just the right amount of accuracy, Twilight Grasp is one of the best heals an MM has at their disposal.

You can still command your pets via stealth, super speed, and shadow fall and anything else that lets you attack while toggled. However, anything that prevents you from attacking also prevents you from controlling your pets. This goes for when you're mezzed too. And your strategy is quite viable and works very well. I myself do this whenever applicable.

Yes you want to "upgrade" it. I'm sure if you need some help some one out there can pull down some instructions. Alternatively you could search the forums. This is a pretty common question and it's been answered several times before.

Yes. They reappear by you or at least on the ground at the point you passed over when you reach the 'respawn' point in your travel. This can be problematic in higher level outdoor areas where plenty of mobs are below you as you Fly or Teleport. The Bots 'may' take damage depending on how far and fast you port away from that point.

Numbers are nice, but remember: figures dont lie, but liars sure can figure. I'm not saying that anyone was prevaricating telling you the Stats, but actions speak louder than words. I can keep my Bots up with Twilight Grasp as well as any Defender can keep a Tanker up. Hell, better! At Level 50 my Heals are 450+HP per. This is with TG slotted 3 Heals, 1 ACC, 1 END Redux, 1 Rech. Keeping my Bots up is the PRIORITY. Also remember: your Bots ARE the remainder of your Hit Points. Masterminds are the lowest HP AT in the game until you take into account that you also have ALL of your Bots' Hit Points standing between you and a dirt nap. In BodyGuard mode (although I rarely use it), you will have HP on par with a Tanker. Save the Assault Bot; save the world. But you already say that the Mastermind is the most unique AT that came out, so finesse plays a part in staying alive.
I dont use Repair because I have other powers that are more important since I have access to a Heal. In fact, I would have ONLY the Bots, Equip, and Upgrade fromt he Robotics Set if it werent for the nicety of being able to Knockback any nearby mobs that get too close with the Pulse Rifle.

Actually, I only took Shadow Fall after hitting Level 50, but I do know that it doesnt break comms with the Bots. That is why I worded my original post the way I did. It would appear that a Secondary Set concealment power doesnt affect your Bot control. I havent tested this with any other set, and really dont know of another Set having a similar Stealth power anyway. Like I said, I didnt need it for 50 Levels,
so I dont see a need for Concealment on a MasterMind. You will get better XP anyway as you and your Bots cut a swath through the baddies like a hot knife through butter. Stealth is for Stalkers and AT's wanting to 'ghost' missions. You could take the Concealment Pool and then set up your Bots in the final room of a mission if you want, but I just see that as a waste of Power choices. Believe me, you will want more Power choices no matter what your Secondary Set is.

Yeah, it's true. I remember the Upgrade/Add Game SNAFU of '05-06 well. Follow these instructions to properly Upgrade your CoH game to CoX (ie; CoH & CoV together).
1) First log-in to your Master Account at PlayNC HERE.
2) In your Games List look for the box with City of Heroes in it and your Account name at the top.
3) Click the button that reads Account Details.
4) On the page that comes up look for the box that says Game & Version.
5) Click on the button that reads Upgrade.
6) Type in the numbers and click the ADD button. You are done.
Again, enjoy yourself with a MasterMind and CoV.
I know Mzzkc posted the answers too, but since I had already typed it out I figured I may as well post. Heh!

Just one thing: there are no Empathy Corruptors. And I believe that Twilight Grasp heals more than any other AoE in CoV, so you needn't worry about that.
Incidentally, if you're having difficulty reading Metal's post, I'll summarize for you:
Level 1 - First pet power (Tier 1)
Level 6 - First Upgrade power, second pet from Tier 1 power
Level 12 - Second pet power (Tier 2)
Level 18 - Third pet from tier 1 power.
Level 24 - Second pet from Tier 2 power.
Level 26 - Third pet power (Tier 3
Level 32 - Second upgrade power
The upgrade powers change the appearance and give powers to one henchman until it is killed. It must be used on each henchman individually. Also, ignore metal's attempt to convey the powers they gain. They're hopelessly inaccurate. Go to Paragonwiki:
Paragonwiki article on Robotics
Tier 1 pets start at your level, and, at level 6 when you get the second one, they become one level lower. At 18 they'll become two levels. The Tier 2 starts your level and becomes one lower. The tier 3 is always your level.
In case you can't read my little graph above, here:
By 26, you'll have:
3 Tier 1 pets ('Minions')
2 Tier 2 pets ('Lieutenants')
1 Tier 3 pet ('Boss'
That info's all laid out haphazardly and in no order. Read it if you want to. Do click the Paragonwiki link. That website is better than mo st info you'll get there.
Abyssal Specter - 31 Dark/Dark Stalker
Gravebinder - 30 Necromancy/Dark Mastermind
I've a minor obsession with Stalkers. Maybe not minor.

I'm a good expert on the bots and protector bots have heal and bubbles after u use the equip. I also have repair so that i can repair the protector bot is almost dead or cant heal right off the bat on the others I use it. Repear does come in hand alot. After u get upgrade at lv 32 its fast kill central, so u don't have to heal that much.
