Troll tusks sell to the merchant for 8 gold each, BUT, there is a collector in snake dance who will trade you a weapon for 5 troll tusks. you can sell these weapons to the merchant for 125 gold each, thus making tusks worth 25g each.
Charr carvings are traded for alcohol during wintersday, and halloween celebrations annually.
EDIT: Stone summit badges, alpine seeds, and any other collectable 8g value drop from the south shiverpeaks all have a collector somewhere who will give a weapon worth 125g.
Except tundra giant bracers, these are worthless.

Yes this would increase the value, so if you have say 5 of them you can do this ( if you farm trolls proabably ).
But its unlikely i think people would want to buy them for this purpose, its a slow way of making money because usualy when u try and buy something, a very small amount of people have the item .
If your in droks where loads of troll farmers are then maybe its profitiable.
Usaully people want the collecters item because it offers perfect stats.
I shall tell you the one outside droks has a cesta which is 20%
half skill recharge of blood magic.
If you look in the right place , ill give you a hint theres on at a factions weapons maker in a small outpost in the city,
you can get a wand which gives you another 20% halfs blood skill recharge.
Say if you have a blood skill which has 10 recharge, with the
40% HSR it will proabbly have an average recharge of 8s .
Something to be wary of is if people try sell you these weapons
as perfect weapons.
An interesting thing is if you have two items with HSR or HCT ( halfs casting time ) they do not stack, so they calculate seperatly.
It is therfore possible to cast meteor storm in 1.25 seconds ( thanks to somebody in my allaince for telling me this yesturday :D )
Yes at some festivals collecters will give you items for say
3 charr hides, that you can trade for 200-300 gold.
An example is at christmas you could trade 3 gargolye skulls for a spiked eggnog, this gave you 3 minutes of drunkeness, i actully got my drunkard title in a week

I think this calculation may be incorrect. I use a 20/20 wand and 20/20 offhand purchased from Gertrud in Vasburg Armory and I find that I can sometime cast a Meteor Shower in 3/4 of a second. This is due to what you said about the HCT being calculated seperately. Basically, from what I've seen, the game takes one of the HCT's and calculates it based on the 20% chance, that would give you a 3/2 or 1.5 second cast time. Then, it calculates the other HCT based on the 1.5 second cast time. If you get the 20% chance on the second HCT, then it's 1.5/2 or .75 seconds. I hope this helps. I can't verify that this is the case due to the fact that I can't run a stopwatch that fast, but I do know that I've cast MS so fast that I thought it got interupted....until I noticed the Meteors falling from the sky.

Yes your right, apologies, i thought MS was a 5 second cast its 3 seconds isnt it.
If youve used ranger interupts sometimes spells seem longer then they are when you have to respond to some spells in like 0.3 seconds, so 3 seconds is like ages to me xD .

na, its 5 secs
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Meteor_Shower
so if it did cast at 1/4 the speed it would be 1.25secs if that is how it works.
