Just installed the game.
I made my first character, and went through the tutorial. Everything was great, but then I finished the tutorial and Atlas Park was loading... crash! Back to the desktop. I got this error:
dwwin.exe - Application Error
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc000012d). Click OK to terminate the application.
Now whenever I load the game and try to go back in, it starts taking me to Atlas Park again... and crashes before it loads, again. :/
It only gives the error the first time I try to load after restarting my machine, but it always crashes.
I tried working in safe mode... that actually lets me get into the game and play... but eventually it crashes anyway. I managed to go up one level before it crashed, but I can't keep playing for 15 minutes between crashes. :) I could use some help!
I've run dxdiag... all my tests are good, my drivers are all up-to-date...
Any ideas of what I can do?

One thing that might help would be to change your graphics on the game to a lower setting. Sometimes if your game graphics are set to high it can cause it to lag and crash. Another thing is a virus program could be causing a problem with it running. Just two suggestions. The game graphics can be adjusted up in the right hand corner you pull down the tab and click on options. I am not a computer know everything person so there might be someone who knows alot more then I about other things.

first thing to try is verify all files
then try running the game in safe mode (which i cant remember how to do right now!)
then itll be a full reinstall of the game im thinking

The game was just installed so odds are good that reinstall/verify won't do it.
I say, make sure your graphics and sound drivers are updated to the latest and greatest. Also, as was mentioned earlier, try lowering your graphics settings in the game (create a new character and do it from the tutorial since you can't seem to load Atlas Park).

Having made a quick trip round the googleverse i found a couple of things that might help with your crashage.
First run a scandisk on your computer at the most advanced level, it could be a corrupt .dat file being referenced by CoX.
Next, read this file and have a look what is the main causes of your crashes(C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson\drwtsn32.log);
as dwwin.exe is doctor watson crash debugger instance. ( on a side note, if this file is stupidly large (ie greater than 100meg) delete it
Have you run windows update recently? it could be an MS update being fussy with your pc. try running it again, there may be another fix.
After this (and all of the other suggestions) try reinstalling the game from a clean state. more often than not this will help fix you right up.
