Online video game addiction is the fastest growing addiction currently. There are currently more people addicted to the internet than smoking and alcohol combined. Reflect upon your Guild Wars experience. Think about the time you've wasted.

What do you think you accomplish playing this long?
Think about these questions. What are you accomplishing by winning that GvG battle? Is it smart to not go see your girlfriend so you can help your guild in Hall of Heroes? How will that help you in school or at work? Why do you play Guild Wars?
Do you think that you could leave the game permanently? Most of you will say yes, but almost none of you could leave the game permanently, even if you say you could. If any of you are addicted to alcohol, gambling, or tobacco, you will understand how hard it is to quit an addiction. I quit Guild Wars months ago, yet still in my heart I am addicted. I talk with players, but I do not play the game.

A little escape and some fun and enjoyment.
I guess I don't really feel guilty for doing something I enjoy. However, moderation is the key to just about everything in life. Sure, GW doesn't do much for my family or work; but it does help me maintain a little (in)sanity, and it helps keep me mentally active. Nothing wrong with that, imo.
I am appreciative of many of the people I have met via GW, but GW doesn't rule my life. And unfortunately, atm, I am beginning to loose a little of my initial enamor with GW. Kinda want to ask the question, "What do you do when GW ceases to please?" However, not appropriate in this thread, and I kinda know the answer anyway.

When you're bored with Guild Wars, quit it. If you're bored playing some regular video game for 12 hours straight then you stop playing. :)

October 2005! I was in Lion's Arch Am 1 the entire time of the Halloween Event.

Longest period of time playing?
I think it was 16 hours, it was b4 the hour messages and most of it was standing somewhere outside the refuge in the jungle talking to a guildmate.
Hours per day?
I play about 1-2 during the week if I play at all...Monday's I don't cause of Heroes, lol and the rest depends on wakefulness and rl...weekends, I tend to play 5-7 hours, tho a lot of it is again..talking. lol
What do you think you accomplish?
Well, for me, I have gained a great friend...the person I spent 16 hours playing with. We have yet to meet (he is in Michigan-I am in Colorado), but he has become a great friend to both my husband and I. I have met wonderful ppl that live in Australia and New Zealand. I have also learned more about those areas of our world. I have aquaintances in about 7 states around the US and have gotten a glimpse of parts of Europe from this website that I would never have had a chance to if I wasn't involved with the game. I have to say, that I am addicted...would I still be addicted if it wasn't for the ppl? No. I keep coming back because the ppl make it new for me. It's a chance to talk real-time and cheap with ppl I wouldn't be able to otherwise. Playing the game with different ppl makes it new. Granted there are some jerks out there, but for every 10 jerks I run into, I meet at least one person that enriches my experiance. So, I have to say out of all the addictions out there...this one isn't really so bad for me to have.

How long Have I played? Ever since the end of Beta x.x
Longest I've ever played? 1 month!!! I just decided to not turn my cpu off... yeah, I was on the same char for 1 month, NONESTOP!!!
A day you ask? 2-4 Hours weekdays, and probably about 5 hours on weekends...
What am I accomplishing? I think I'll have to get back to you on that =P Lol, j/k. I kinda get to know a lot of people around the globe... Korea... Europe, Canada... IRAQ!!!! ( Guild Leader was sent there ) like 30 of the states... Hawaii is one of em... and omg so many other places!!! Plus, I sometimes need to get away from school or my parents, who will tell me to do everything around the house, even walk some dogs, even though I'll have a broken arm X.x;; And.... Lets say I'm a Sim, and I need to spend Simoleans to buy some stuff to make me happy... right now my bar is red... *Buys Guild Wars with simoleans* Now my bars green! :D

Depends on the day I have something pretty much every day of the week but on average 1.5 hours a day lately more on weekends =)

Make money for the eye doctor and the ppl that make my contact lenses
I used to be addicted to GW and my mom kept telling me I'm a zombie and would play on average 4-5 hours on a WEEKDAY! but after a bit I had to catch up on stuff like sports, music, my social life and Guild Wars so I lost time to play and after a while when some stuff freed up I could play Guild Wars again but I wasn't completely addicted so I guess once you get over the first few days of breaking an addiction or habit then you're not so addicted anymore^^

I don't know, my computer is always on, and Guild Wars is usually running on it, minimised or whatever. I do other things too, and if my Daughter wants me to watch TV with her, watch a Movie or just simply play games - I walk away from the desk. If my Son ever wants to go 1 v 1 on Counterstrike... then I go do that too. If I wasn't sat in front of this screen for the best part of my Evening, I'd be sat in front of a TV screen. At least being here I'm doing lots of things, keeping my mind active, chatting, and having fun.

46hrs with the odd hour break for food & not counting when I fell asleep! It was the NF release, I played my Dervish through non-stop.

Some days none, some days 8+

I don't drink, smoke, spend cash on other activities or cheat on my gf who's in another country studying. I have no vices so this stops me going mad... :/

I keep myself entertained and socialise at the same time. I don't know the people in real life, and prolly never will, but it's good to make these friends and chat + laugh with them. Also, i don't have a GF or a job (tho i am looking so don't go on that) so nowhere to go with no money, why not play GW to pass the time? it's fun, social and free.

Am I addicted, yeah. I can honestly say that I could never stop playing gw, but unlike other addictions, this is one i can control (just look at my xfire profile, allanon6666).
