Ice/Rad is the second best overall corrupter build for PVP and in PVE anything/Rad is a welcome addition to a team...Ice/Rad is no exception there.
Massive dmg, great secondary effect, a nice quick-recharging hold, and some good AOEs.
Have fun with this build, you will be impressed from lvl 2-50 I assure you.

I dare to disagree, id say ice rad is better then ice cold for PvP (with ice/cold you wont be able to solo to well in PvP) and generally id fidn the debuffs from teh rad better. Ice is good for two things, 1) the slow on pretty much all the attacks and 2) the holds.
However ice is a big end muncher ill warn you now, so get with teh stamina at 20 if you try it

You can dare to disagree all you want, but you would be incorrect. Only until lvl 35 can the ice/rad beat out the ice/cold because it is an early bloomer and all debuffs come much much earlier. When /cold gets sleet and heat loss, it's over. If you have a lvl 50 ice/rad that you would like to test against I will be more than happy to meet you on test with my ice/cold for a demonstration.
At SC level, the edge goes to the ice/rad, one you get Warburg and above, ice/cold hands down. Let me exlain why...
Infrigidate - -def, -speed
Sleet - -def, -res, -rchg, -speed
Heat Loss - -res, -end, slow (team +end rec, +end)
Benumb - -dmg, -end, -regen (special - all secondary effects are weakened dramatically, i.e heals are cut in half or less, debuffs do less to you, holds last shorter, etc etc)
Snow Storm - -speed, -rech, -fly
BS Web Envelope - -jump, -rchg
BS Web Cocoon - Hold, -jump, -rchg, slow
BS Shield - +def (smh, lthl, energy)
Artic Fog - +def, +res(fire, COLD, energy, slow)
As you can see with Infridge+Web Env+Snow Storm+Sleet you will have them rooted on the ground, not moving anywhere because of the slows, everything you throw at them afterwards hitting them due to the massive -def, -res you are throwing at them. Then, you hit Benumb, and ALL their secondary effects don't do a thing to you, meaning their debuffs are worthless, which since the main ones are toggle anyway and you are spamming two quick recharging holds on them (Freeze Ray and Web Cocoon) dropping the toggles they wont be on you anyway. After their first round of attacks, they won't have any powers up to affect you with anyway so feel free to stand toe to toe with them to get off Heat Loss which will drain their endurance, we, give you your own Speed Boost for 2 min....nothing can match that, not any corrupter anyway.
I have both toons at lvl 50, so I speak from experience and you can also verify this on the CoV forums in the PVP section, that nothing stands up to the ice/cold corrupter in high level PVP post lvl 35, sorry.

I would have to agree with Neo 100%......for the arena.
In zone PvP, the ice/rad has the advantage due to faster recharging/animating debuffs (most of which are toggles anyways) which leads to the ice/rad being able to dish out the burst damage alot quicker than the ice/cold who has to work up to being able to do what he does.
That's not to say ice/cold isn't any good in zone play just I would give the advantage to /rad. But in 1 v 1 arena matches, the /cold should do it almost every time.
YMMV.

I have a Dark/Cold Corrupter, and all though I havent PvP'd with it much, I have noticed that most mobs take so many De-Buffs (ie...To-Hit, Defence and Slow) that they begin to run after like 3 hits...pluss the Darkness gives me tenticals for incapasitate (no movments). It souds like it would be a good PvP build...
What do you guys think?

Dark/Cold is one of the best dueling builds in PVP, but that is as far as it goes, unfortunately. In arena, the only thing an ice/cold doesn't have is -acc. Dark fills in nicely to make that happen and can wear down an opponent. Now, it will take much more time to kill someone due to the lack of burst damage, but you should win more than you lose in duels. One of the best duelers in the game...Hans Blix...has a sick dark/cold build he PVPs with on test, no one will fight him anymore :)
Anyway, stick to dueling if you do PVP. Team wise, the damage won't help much and the buffs on the other side will override your -acc from your primary.
Good Luck!

I have a Energy/thermal, it seems to work great in the regular game mode. Melt armor and heat exhaustion really are a wicked combo to use on a boss. does anyone know how this build does in PVP, any tips to make that build stronger?

Energy is not a primary usually paired with /Thermal in high-end PVP since it lacks a decent secondary effect. Can you tell me a little more about what kind of PVP you want to use him for and if you do respec him, is he going to be a combo PVE/PVP toon or dedicated PVP, because that will make a large difference in how he/she is built.
Thanks,

PvE = Player vs. Enemy. This is basically missions, TFs, hunting in regular zones.
PvP = Player vs. Player. This is what you're looking to do in Siren's Call, and other arenas/dueling/player fighting zones.
I also must say that with the Ice/Rad set...you're chance of upping your damage output is increased and you have a built in hasten that recycles your attack chain faster. I just started a Ice/Rad and so far it's pretty nice. I'm at level 10 currently and with the debuffs that i have currently, i can last a lot longer in a fight. This is actually the first i've played with any of these powers so any advise that can be given...please post me some good builds...i'll take PvE builds first and if there is no difference, throw around some PvP builds as well.

PVE = Player vs Environment (meaning everything but PVP) it's how you level your toon up...missions, task forces, etc.
Ok..let me try to explain a little so you can get a complete PVP perspective as that is all I do anymore in game, PVP and PL toons for PVP.
Zone PVP (Siren's Call, Recluse's Victory, Warburg, Bloody Bay) - If you were to mostly PVP in zones, you want a build that can not only do well 1v1 because often times you don't have the perfect team available or you may want to (ugh) join Fight Club for some zone 1v1s. This build could be very well rounded around attacks and your seconday buffs/debuffs. It is the most like a PVE build you will find in any kind of PVP.
Arena PVP - The most competitive form of PVP in the game and hardcore PVPers like myself, build each toon for a specific purpose. My fire/thermal, for example, has only two attacks (Fire Blast and Blaze) and ALL the buffs/debuffs/heals from the secondary. AND you will want to have unsupressed travel powers which means slotting your movement powers like hurdle, swift, combat jumping, etc fully (3-slots mostly) and also you will have 2 travel powers (SS/SJ) to allow yourself to keep up with the rapid pace of arena PVP. My thermal has the concealment pool for stealth/grant invis/phase shift, becasue you will be THE target to kill due to your ability to keep the team alive...phase shift can save you over and over. This is the tightest build you could imagine and the most specialized. If you aren't 100% PVP, you probably want to go with a more zone-oriented PVP build so you can still play him in PVE a little better.
Anyway, zone means more attacks basically to sum it up so you can do some damage and maybe less of the pool powers or the secondary powers. It's really up to you, but either way, as long as you have the major debuffs (Heat Exh and Melt Armor) and some of the heals/buffs you will be fine.
Have fun, PVP is a great adventure. :)

Here is an Ice/Rad build that will do very well in both PVP and PVE, the only thing you are really missing from PVE is Mutation for the LRSF. But that could be replaced by one of your holds if you prefer PVE over PVP. This was my Ice/Rad build before I SHOd him out. The slots are much different with Hami's but this works okay too. I can say I am LOVING my new 50 Fire/Rad...so much more damage output than my Ice/Rad. If you find yourself wanting more burst damage while still crippling your foes.....try it out, it is quickly becoming FOTM (which may shy you away from it). Both ice and fire/rads simply tear things up in PVP, fire/rad much more so on a team than ice/ but both still do very well.

thanks for the tips, but one more question. My toon will soon be a lvl 50, do you still recomment phase shift for pvp. Is a lvl 50 thermal not strong enough to heal himself and escape danger?

No, spike damage will kill you in less than 3 seconds if the other team is good. Phase will save your life.
I have been PVPing with my 50 Fire/Thermal for about 4 months, and I wouldn't change the concealment pool if you paid me :)

Ice/cold is not better than ice/rad. Heat Loss is 1 small +rec depending on baddies so if you are soling in RV ice/ice is worrse. And i would love to meet you with my fire/rad in the arena!

Welcome to GameAmp, FitzRoy. And kudos for digging through our pile of old threads and gems. That last build Neo posted looks pretty solid. You could follow it on your way to 50. And since I don't do PvP nor post-50 play I can't say much how it will do there.
