Hello !
I recently bought my 9th slot on GW and can now create my first faction character ^^
Well I dont know if I should create an Assassin or an Ritualist.
I just wanted to hear to opinions from people that played both in PvE
Atm I'm leaning towards an Ritualist I think, but I need some help ^^
Thanks

I made both of those 2 times and delete them 2 times, now i have a assasin again. Be sure you really going for that character do not stop playing in Kaieng Center :P!!
the 2 bad sides ( in the begin )i found was:
Rt- not alot spirits you can make
- always dieing if a afflected explosing next 2 u
As- 1 block from your foe and your combo is gone
- because you are trying to find the best combo you will get a headache and stop playing it.

I would personally go with a Rit with a PvE slot and a sin with a PvP slot seeing as how sins will have a hard time in PvE, and i know first hand... Plus i think that the ritualist is a more versatile profession.

It took me almost 8 months to finally fall in love with Sins. They're a pain to get going, afflicted wipe you out with soul explosion and there's very few good skills until late in the game. But...Once they're up to speed they can be unstoppable and they're so much fun to play!
Rt's on the other hand I've never had fun playing but I'll soon be freeing up a PvE slot and making one...and this time I'll stick with it!

Ritualists are fun. I was extremely amazed when i first started how much damage u can do at such a low lvl. I came to the desert, set up spirits and watch them blow the poop out of everything. I have never gotten into sins as i can't play them well, even though i can play a mesmer quite decent. Go rit for pve!

playing an assassin is a tad harder, but you also gain a lot more fun experiences with him. I've tried both, and the rit is somewhat boring to me, the recharges on most spell are just too long to make them good enough for a PvE fight, at least in my head. Sins on the other hand can be an extreme nuisance, but it's just because they are so different and awkward to play.
To play as an assassins is easy, to kill foes is easy, to survive is what makes it hard.

When I started Factions I made a sin and gave him a rit secondary. I actually used more rit stuff early on it help
when fighting afflicted. Then once up to speed I used only sin skills. My sin was the first character I used to beat Factions and had a blast doing it. It is a class that has a steep learning curve but once u do learn one well they are amazing. Oh by the way a rit was the second character i've used to beat Factions and they can be alot of fun as well. Early on channeling magic kicks but. Well good luck on whatever you pick.

I'd say choose ritualist...It is so much more versatile than the sin...
I played both, not for long but did. I found the sin to be as other have said above, it takes time to get into playing a sin, i have little pacience so i didn't keep mine.
As for the rit, it can be used for so much. It can be used as a basic dmg dealer with channeling ofr dmg spirits, it can be used as a healer (some say better than the monks tho i think it's tosh), and it can be used a s a modded minion master, i personally liked my rit tho i deleted it because at the time all anybody wanted me to play as was a healer and as i already got a monk i didn't wanna do that so i made a char that would defff not be asked to heal (also ask around ou'll find i play my monk a lot but am isick of healing so you can understand why i didn't wanna play my rit it people were ging to expect me to heal all the time :@)
so yeah... Rit imo

I'd go with Ritualist too
I'm a big ranger player and if you've played it a bit you can see its quite good at a lot of things (multi purpose)
Ritualist is like a multi purpose monk + more so they are good :D
And there are some really nice build for them out there!
Assassins are awsome for soloing bosses though so if ya need greens it would be a better choice probable

I have both, love both :)
I fell in love with my sin the second time I made her, and now she is PvP-ready with all useful elites, which I did in the space of about 8 days I think. I just fell in love with playing Sin, when they work how you intend, and you get a good build sorted they are SO MUCH FUN.
Now, they are much better in PvP than PvE, but as long as you have at least a couple of real people in your groups (doesn't work as well with hench) then you'll find the whole teleporting in and out thing much easier. You become more of a target with hench as you have to lead them, but flags does make that easier.
My advice is get to level 20 then head over to Kamadan and play through NF, I didn't find the factions missions much fun at all with a sin :)
My rit is also one of my favourite characters, especially so before they AI scatter update which made UW farming 10 times slower. Also useful in both PvE and PvP, and great little farmers. They can do damage, they can tank, they can farm, they can heal, they can prot, spirit spam...they are one of the most versatile classes around and that's why they are also great ^^

I also say Rit...but I think that's because I'm a casting type ^^
It's fun to play but if you go for a Rit with a lot of spirits it can be boring because it takes pretty long to set up the spirits. If you finally got the most spirits up, the fight can be over already :P
Have fun playing with one of the classes ^^
