About 2 weeks ago I was recruiting for new VG mates in Mercy. After sending the message over the Broadcast some of the players started to pick on me. I returned fire and picked on them, what I thought was in good fun. After we went back and forth for awhile I found out they were already in another VG. They told me there VG name and said there VG can beat mine and anyone from there VG can beat me. When I called them out they refused, with good reason he was on his alt a lvl 5 Corr. The constant bickering from my VG to his has been steady for the last 2 weeks. Today I was in Nerva on my level 36 Stalker, a level 34 Brute from that VG came to me and wanted to fight. This is the same guy who had the lvl 5 Corr. I said “Lets Go !”, then he said he was busy and then we talked trash to each other. Finally he agreed to go to the arena and fight, to settle things.
I WON ! !
After we left the arena he made 100’s of excuses why he lost. His fellow VG mates also said it was not a fair fight. They said I ran from him and me being 2 lvl’s higher was why I won. Honestly I did not take it easy on him and only killed him one time. We both ran from each other when we were getting beat. I felt it was a fair fight. My Stalker is a Claws/Reflex, his Brute is a Fire/Fire. Anyone who has a Super Reflexes Stalker knows fire eats them up. He did not turn on his Blazing Aura to try to stop me from the Assassin’s Claw. He had no protection from knock backs, so I would hit him with Focus and then jump on him while he was on the ground. I have Super Jump as my travel, he has fly. He was flying around the ceiling so I would not AS him. I have a jetpack, I flew next to him and hit him. I announced over broadcast our levels and info and asked if it was fair and it was split. Of course my VG mates said it was fair but they don’t count. I feel it was a fair fight and he is a bad loser. Was it fair ?

He had blazing aura and didn't use it? That alone makes him a dolt in my book. But after reading through - he's just a sore loser. AND bad at PvP. Also, you *did* tell him and his fiends that the difference between your levels only comes out to three Enhancements and a power?
You won fairly.

Well, it's like Abyssal said, if the guy had done his homework on what works in PvP he may have won that fight. Every seasoned player knows Assassins Strike is Stalkers best attack, shut that out and you have a good chance of bringing them down. And I know it's eveyones choice of what powers they want to take, but if you pick a set like /Fire or /Dark for a scrapper, Brute, or Stalker, you should plan on getting the leaping pool and pick acrobatics so that knockback doesn't become an issue. It's why I usually avoid PvP, my stalker isn't really built for it( though I have gone toe to toe with a tank and held my own for a good 2 mins, didn't win, but I did put a good dent in his HP). If the guy could hold his own like he bragged he could, he should have kept his mouth shut in the first place. Like they say; If you can't walk the walk, don't talk the talk.

My take, as a non PvPer, but as a competitor...
If you step into the arena, there should be no excuses, whatever the outcome, live with it, learn from it...
I know he saw your level prior to going into the fight...correct? correct. That's the first thing you notice about your opponent. So, that's a non factor. If he's complaining about you not standing still so he can hit you, well, I don't need to comment on that one...
In my opinion, there is no such thing as a fair fight...if you want to win, you do what you have to do (or did we have a Geneva Convention in CoX that I don't know about...lol).

What Abyssal says is funny to me. I picked up Evasion at level 35 but left it off because of all the toggles I have running together eats a lot of end. Even in missions I use it rarely. And the 3 Enchantment slots I got at level 36 are empty because I don’t want to waste my infamy on them, I will get level 40 Enchantment when I get to level 37 and fill them. I closed my inspiration tab and said to myself I will not use any, I try not to when I PvP. I had to use 2 blues when I lost all my End and all my toggles shut down. He emptied his inspiration tray while we were fighting to stay alive, not a problem to me. But I agree, him not using that Blazing Aura was my biggest surprise and his biggest mistake. I almost asked him if he was gonna turn it on anytime soon. Now he wants to fight Godless my level 36 Ninja/Dark MM….. lol

All i can say is good job, i despise people who like to start things they can not finish, and who make excuses after talking so much sh*t and they end up losing. Also i think it was fair considering he had that fast heal that healed about 1/2 to 3/4's of his hp, and you had AS, which it evens out some how. Anyways, if they keep giving you trouble, just let me know, im sure i can get one of the vg's im in to spank them around or i could just spank em around with one of my lvl 50's >:)
