There has been much talk of the release of COV and I for one am one of the many who cannot wait for this because it will be a new level of Role Playing!!! WIth that said is there any RPers out there who have their own stories they've got hidden somewhere for this release? underground villainous groups you have planned to forge together? Lets hear your ideas....

For one here is a link to a site that is for a Villain SG! enjoy, it also has some info on COV release itself!!!

Re: Role Players await City Of Villains

One of my heroes is Experiment 409, an android created by a man dedicated to making a hero's job easier. 409 constantly wants to do heroic tasks, and takes great pleasure in keeping the peace and helping out others.

Experiment 410 is going to be my first villain when CoV beta starts up. It started to resent the fact that its creator was constantly pushing him to follow in the footsteps of its predicessor. Therefore, it simply removed the pressure- by killing the man. Now it is going to hunt the streets of Paragon for 409, ready to terminate all remnants of the project.

I'd also like to create Eclipse, the villain from the current Triumphant Heroes arc. I don't think I could get around to doing it, though, since it'd be a shame to have to work this arch-villain up from minion class...

It'll be a lot of work, but it'll be worth it in the end, I would think. Heck, you're going to play anyway, you might as well do it.

I'm curious if there's going to be a way to "unlock" like the uberbaddies from CoH. Like will we be able to make Rikti or something in the future or will it be all human based baddies.

Re: Role Players await City Of Villains

I am not planning on playing CoV. My inner dark side is too much like Cthulhu, for you HP Lovecraft fans. I am not in tune with him at all and he scares me. I prefer to stick with the Heroes part. On occasion, the bastard slips past my guard and I become evil, but I don't want it to become a regular habit. He came out too often when I was playing Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. It got to where I was very dangerous on the road. Hate to see what would happen to me if I played too much CoV...

So I will have to see you villians in the arena or on the streets. Pray that my villian stays inside when we meet.

Re: Role Players await City Of Villains

OOOOYEEEAAHHH!!!
I know this is childish but...I have been waiting for COV for the pure and wonderful feeling I will get taking down HEROS!!!
Now hold on a sec not all Heros, just the Hero's I have encountered in CoH who have played CoH as if they were a villan. I do not only speak for myself there are others out there who I have come into contact with that has been jaded by other players. Examples you say...ok..."Left for dead on a team, killed repeatdly because a certain team member doesn't understand they can't RUSH in, teleported 100ft in the air to be dropped and killed, finishing everyone elses mission and leaving yours undone, higher level heros arrgoing high lvl villans and then running them your way (hate that), being asked to be an anchor for higher lvl heros and they say they will pay you...but never DO!! etc...etc...
I have encounterd dozens upon dozens of players who have felt the evil growing within them because of some of these reasons...so much so I have been asked to JOIN CoV teams even before it has been released.
The way I see it if your a HERO be the best HERO you can be...but if you are a Villian you should be as nasty as you can be.
I wonder if the areans will be cross combatable for CoH vs. CoV...that would be cool maybe then the katharsistic healing can begin...

Logically, though, many soon-to-be Villians are the idiots who always think they know what they are doing and think they are bad-asses. Odds are high that teaming with other Villians in CoV will get your butt handed to you on a platter. Works well for me, though, as the constant (if psychologically damaged - see above Lovecraft reference) SuperHero. I will be on a well-forged team, and you will be teaming with a bunch of power-hungry individuals who will not let anyone tell them what to do. We'll see who wins, hehehe.

Re: Role Players await City Of Villains

They should have some Lovecraft based villians! I would love to fight off some of the followers of Cthulhu, etc. Heck, most of Lovecraft's stories were based in Rhode Island, so why the heck not. It's awesome reading his stuff and being able to actually say, "Hey, I was just on Hope St this afternoon."

<-- Is from Providence, RI...home of HP Lovecraft and Brown University (also used in his stories).

that problem already exists on COH. i've teamed with some pretty egotistical heroes in my time and 50% have aggroed when they should've just been more patient! I've gotten into alot of debt that way. Now i've learned to stick with my familiars (Friend list and SG) or solo!

Re: Role Players await City Of Villains

I'm looking forward to City of Villains myself, though I do agree that in the beginning, it'll be rough:

1. Everyone's going through it for the first time, so no resource pages and just asking for store locations for the first little bit. Of course, this means I'll actually get off my butt and explore the areas.

2. The first people to play the game will be doing so simply to fight each other and other heroes, many of whom still have this silly notion that you can walk up to any hero/villain and attack them. YOU HAVE TO CHALLENGE THEM, FOR THE LAST TIME!!

3. As with above, alot of the first players will be the die-hard junkies who "know what they're doing" and "have been doing this for years on other games". I don't care how good you are, every game still has a learning curve, and I'm not about to put my butt on the line so you can prove you're "the Man".

Now I know 2 and 3 don't apply to all people who will be picking up CoV right away, but I know I'm gonna run into my fair share of idiots anyways...which, in retrospect, isn't that much different from a day in CoH.
