I know this question gets asked a lot but......
Can someone let me have a trial key?
I just wanna see if I like the game before I but it. I'm kinda on a strict budget so I dont really feel like wasting 50+ bucks on something I'm not going to have fun with.

You have to install the game to be able to play it. All a trial key does is unlock the game for you for 10 hours or 10 days or something. Then you have to use a normal key to continue playing.

14 days or 10 hours, whichever comes first.
In details, you get 10 hours to play and you have to do it within 14 days. For an experienced player with ingame friends 10 hours might be enough to finish a chapter, for a beginner it's hardly enough to know why GW is an awesome game, and 10 hours makes the life of Trial Gold Farmers* a hell. Of course if after the trial you decide to buy the game, you can add your activation key to the trial account, to make it live, so you get to keep everything you gained during that trial session.
Also, when you buy the game you buy an ACCOUNT. The client is free to download (though prepare to download 4-5gigs...), but they pack it on CD/DVD to the retail version of the game - but after that you still have to patch the game which means up to 1-2G of download, depending on how many patches were released since the version on the installer disks.
And sorry, I don't have any trial keys anymore.
*Those who get a trial, get someone to level them to be able to farm gold in the shortest time, activate a bot to hoard a lot of gold then sell it on e-bay and such. Highly illegal.

Hmm... Missing some details.
1.) Did he signed up for trial when you gave him the key, and then tried to use it AGAIN when factions came out? Because then it's obviously unusable.
2.) Did he try to add a trial key to an existing (trial or real) account? I think you can't add trial keys to existing accounts, and even if you can, you obviously can't add a Prophecies trial account to any acc that contains Prophecies, even if it's an expired trial (e.g. you get two proph. trial keys, you register with the first, you can't add the other one, even if the first expires...)
3.) When factions came out, there was some bugs around keys. When I tried to add my preorder key when I just got it, it also said that I have the rights it provides. Half a month later it still said but I could add it, and I got the preorder items and things. Also there was the same bugs about trial keys when F was released, but they corrected it in like a week or so.

I have a friend who is planning to buy Nightfall soon, and as I discovered when I bought Nightfall, there is an epic trial key in there... so when he buys Nightfall, if you haven't already found a trial key, I'll get that one from him for you. May be a week or two, though.
