Pile him. Get as many people as possible, and then pile him. MMs work good against GMs, but if you were to get a big team or two of low levels, id suggestasking a 40-50 who can heal, to come help. Deathsurge runs alot, so a good dom or three would work well to lock him down. Not necessarily hold him, just immobilize or something.
ALOT of debuffs is very effective too.

Deathsurge is impossible to solo apprently, no one has proven this wrong yet so yeah

Pack some blues, he has a habit of draining end (when he stands still ¬_¬)

No GMs have been soloable since i7. Pre-i7 it was actually possible for a person to solo Deathsurge, Scrapyard and sometimes even Caleb. Good ol' days. (Then again, it was no fun killing GMs by yourself)

They did some major revamp on the GMs to make them much tougher. One thing was making Deathsurge run around like a sissy kid.

One lvl 50 stone brute and a kin corrupter can take down deathsurge, and the kin corr just has to stand there with speed boost, and power syphon mixed with an occasional heal.

I have fought DS many a time, mostly to lure him away from a weakened teammate so they could get away, sure it may have cost me my life a time or two but it was worth it and yesterday, my team and a few other teams fought him, he killed me but I used self rez and casted howling twilight and revived the others who had fallen and we rejoined the fight, sure I may have gotten 3,000+ debt but I did get my Surging Badge. :D

LoL ya a stone brute paired with a Kin Corr is a brutal combo. Deathsurge can be beaten with this combo as the wife and I have done it. Mind you its a long fight but with the stones defenses and damage mixed with the recharge times granted him by Speed boost and pwr syphon, fulcrum shift, and even some transfurance and syphon speed mixed in there it is do able. Since Syphon speed slows the target way down it makes it so deathsurge doesnt run off (as fast).

Considering also that a stone can stand and fight deathsurge even without a kin it just ends in a draw since the stone cant recharge fast enough to do enough damage to bring him down before he heals.

Killing deathsurge is more about the team you choose than anything. They say lvl doesnt matter fighting a GM but I have found this to be not true. 4 LVL 50's can achieve what 2 teams of lvl 20's can not. Simply because there is more attacks available to the lvl 50. But if your going to fight a GM choose your team wisely your going to want damage mixed with debuffs/buffs.

An example of a bad team would be a team of 6 healers, and 2 doms. Simple reason is not anywhere enough damage being dealt out. To me a good team would be 3 Brutes, 2 Kin Cors, and 2 Healers. But I could always be wrong... just unlikely LMAO j/k

I've done it with a team of 4 before. That might have been before the toughening you spoke of though. The only powersets I can remember were a /dark MM and myself, a claw/nin stalker.

What sort of villain are you? The term self-sacrifice has no place in a true villain's vocabulary.

But, yeah, it's a game, and teamplay is important. :)

I took ol surge out the other day, there were 5 of us, 2 cors, 2 brutes (for the most part, when we got him down to about 25% health a mm arrived and then we destroyed him!) so yeah its more about muscle as GM's regenerate pretty fast, and though i think they had their hold resistance slightly lowered a while ago doms dont do so good in small teams, but thats no reason to exsclude them, cause numbers chrunch numbers :)

i saw my friend lvl 50 stalker hit Scrapyard one time i was standing right next to him he hit one time, I swear i am not lieing he hit one time and dead and got a badge. build up the AS wam dead.

do you mean he 1 hit the gm with bu+as, or do you mean the gm 1 hit him? cuz i have hit scrapyard to have him disappear becuase of a glich but you dont get the badge for it,ive seen a team of 2 corrs take down the DS before a fire/rad and a fire/dark :0
