The steps taken to make flash sigs such as Keo and Magical Samuria will be more then clear if you learn the basics.
There are enough resources on the net that will teach you Flash Basics, just take the time. =/
Please dont be like all those other sig designers out there that simply follow instructions
from a tutorial with 0 knowledge and not knowing what they are doing. (no offence)

Edit:

hint; Button symbol, "on mouse release", "go to [specify frame here]", several layers with images, timeline.

Flash is a powerful tool, as you are starting fresh I'd look for some basic understanding of the program before rushing in.. and as you are just starting play around with some actionscript 1 tutorials. Also use the in program help in conjunction with this to learn.

There are many ways to do things in flash unfortunately a lot of them are bad ways :)). However for a simple signature start small and work your way up. Remember us viewers and try to keep the file size (compress) small.

Avoid actionscript 2 for now... If you go on to it straight away you can end up scratching your head clueless. Most likely because of little oddities like needing delegates (or proxies) to get correct referencing.

If you have no programming knowledge stick to basic flash stuff and work your way up, flash is fun.

So plan what you aim to do, find tutorials that are similar and play.

I cant wait to use actionscript 3... drools.

RE: Crash Course in Macromedia flash program

Stydracos and i gave you advice, Keo offered to send you his flash file. I doubt there is a tutorial out there that offers this, there might be one out there, try googling then, im assuming Samurai and Keo learned the basics as most of us have and as we've said, once you learn the basics it'll all become clear, more then clear infact.
Invest some time into reading books(which even that you can get on the net), articles and what not on Flash basics, you'll need actionscript (as was said) for this, stop(), on(release) goto [enter frame number] .etc for this, why have it all handed to you on a silver plate when you can invest like 10 hours into learning the basics, that time invested would pay off as you've gained knowledge, which imo is priceless, perhaps you've grown hungry for more knowledge so get into the more advanced technique's, maybe you'll want to do this for a living so you'll be going all out into Flash.

Edit:

Making a flash sig off a tutorial would have you achieved very little, you'll miss out on too much of basics, everyone of your flash sig's will look the exact same as you proberlly lack creativity which may be because you lack the basics of Flash.

Everyone here wants to help, we've given you advice and even (Keo) offered an example. Whether you choose to take all this is entirely up to you.

I guess it's just like Photoshop etc...you teach yourself the basics, learn lotsa stuff learning by doing etc...and with a bit of creativity you can design such sigs. I've been playing with Photoshop, Flash etc for quite some years now myself and if you don't get the basics (thus don't understand WHAT you're doing), it's pointless in just learning which buttons to click to achieve something that looks like something, somebody already made...
