OMG I hate the Gate Of Pain

is it possible to run gate of pain? i can never beat it no matter what kind of group i am in.

I don't think you can run it, my group was 3 w/mo, 2 monks, and 2 ele's with a single Rt making support spirits. Most of all you have to pull a single group towards you and take them out little by little.

make sure you got some interupts, it really helps.

btw: gate of madness is much more frustrating, every amper can tell you that :P

The only advice I can relaly think of that is very helpful is (assuming you aren't a ranger, I really have no idea) to bring one of the ranger heroes or have someone else in the party bring one. Set up the hero with Broadhead Arrow and have it daze the Torture/Terrorwebs so they don't wipe your party.

edit - as for gate of pain, keep your group spread out, interrupt the torturwebs skills. and as for getting to the tortures, it's already been said, kill little by little. can't really put it any other way

I hated gate of pain at first, bnow I can complete it first time, gate of madness....always found that one easy.....

the trick to gate of pain is prot bond, equip it and some e-management and your fine

What I did was bring 2 monk heros (I was an SF ele) and a nuker.
Torturewebs own your party so I flagged my hench back, manually casted Prot Spirit, Spirit Bond and Shield of Regen on me.
I ran in first and soaked up all the damage then cancelled the heroes' orders, making them run in and kill the torture web.
It's slow but it works.

Also, going in with humans is 10 times easier.

Gate of Pain was one of the few I couldn't hench but is fairly easy so long as you interrupt the Terrorwebs. Last time I helped there our Warrior took Head butt & Plague Touch, Prot Spirit negated the spike damage and that just left regular healing and mob management.

The most likely reason for failure here is rushing. As with most missions toward the end of the game you have to take your time and consider your approach.

Well, Gate of Pain is relatively easy to hench for masters, there are just a couple of places where you have to pull very carefully and be ready to make a hasty retreat if you get more than you were asking for. Also you have to choose your tools according to the task. When doing it with my ele I just pounded the dryders into the ground before they could do anything (she could actually solo most of the stuff there). My ranger dazed and interrupted and let other do the killing part. My monk had the easiest run - Prot Spirit on the tank and anybody else near the monsters, then spam LoD, /dance.

Gate of Pain isn't really that much of a pain. I managed to beat it twice in the same afternoon with 2 different teams. The second time I had 2 rangers with me, and we used heroes to fill in the gaps. If the heroes have good builds, then you can make it without too much trouble.

Gate of Madness is a completely different story. 2 of my teams (I already beat NF with my ele, now I'm going for my dervish) nearly beat Shiro, but in the end impossible odds comes in too fast.

Last time i'v beaten this mish with my ele, it was pretty easy (got masters) with henchies and heroes. Just use a Power Block Mesmer, it totally owns the torures webs and all other casters as they us only one element.

The Gate of Pain can be an annoyance but ironically, it was one of the few missions in NF I was able to do with heros and hench.

The key to this mission and The Gates of Madness, Much, Much, Much harder than Gates of Pain, is interupting the enemy and having party-wide heals. Unlike some missions, everyone in your party will be under pressure so skills like LoD, Heal party, Heaven's Delight are a big help. Also make sure everyone has a rez, Rebirth is very useful here. (If you arnt a monk then equip Dunkoro with these)

For the mission, I ran LoD with party-wide heals then I took Dukoro with a near identical build to mine, Tahlkora with a ZB + Aegis protect build and Zhed as a SH Nuker. Then I took Gehraz (Dervish) as a Tank, Odurra (Mesmer) for Inteupts, and the rest is really flexible, you could use another nuker or a another tank, your choice.

If you still find the mission a big problem, try taking Magrid (Ranger) with BHA and interupts or try taking Tahlkora as a Barrier Bonder to reduce damage.

well when i used it i used my VoS build, quite witty if you asked me. I was D/W though. Totem Axe helps alot. btw

on this particular mission its actually quite useful. most damage comes from spells, and fortunately for you, spells can't hurt you. i use this build in AB too.

but anyway back to the point. i used hench/heroes for this one.

just make sure you have interupts and AoE healing

I henched this pretty easy actually. I brought both ranger Heroes and set them up with interupts. they kept the terrorwebs from doing much at all, while the rest of the henches and i polished them off.

Yes im an AMPER and ill be doing gate of madness tonight at some point and would love any help from anyone who also needs the mission or is just bored :P

Meh madness is just long and requires skilled pulling and good tactics.

Gate of pain however...is probably one of the easiest missions in elona in my opinion.

Pull one group. Get a ranger/mesmer/warrior interrupter to interrupt meteor shower and if he fails everyone scatter. This said I have puged this twice. If I did it with heroes and henchis it would most likely be easier.
