Does anyone know if there's something going on with time cards? My account's been deactivated for a while now, but I felt like playing again so I went out to grab a time card. Bestbuy, Circuitcity, and CompUSA all had no NCsoft time cards for any game at all. It's just very unusual.....

I dont think anything is swrong. They may just be low on inventory. Did you check with a salesperson? I hear there are sometimes decent 'deals' on timecards through websellers. You may wish to check some of them also (such as Amazon.com). Good luck.

Yeah, it looks like they were just out of stock. But it's very odd for every freakin' store in the area to run out at the same time....

Maybe there was a sale or a dispute with local retailers about the sales. It happens. Sometimes they just don't ship stuff to your area, ya know? There can be a rush on certain items all the time. I remember when all the local places by me had to Dr Pepper back a ways because of a problem at the distribution center or something...it was weird and not fun.

I've had the same problem, and in two different states mind you. From what I understand, after speaking to a couple different sales people, the demand for them is a lot lower than it used to be. I guess most folks renew online or purchase the long term plans to save money.

All right, it's been over a week now trying to get my hands on a freakin' time card and now I think I found out what's happened.
As many of us know, any PlayNC time cards can be used for any PlayNC game; regardless or what box art the card has. It now seems to encourage people to grab time cards to try out the game, and to dispel the notion that the time cards only work for one specific game (meaning you have to hunt for that specific card)-- they are now phasing out the old time cards.
The new time cards are half the price, but are also 30 days instead of 60. Also the cover art has multiple PlayNC games to emphasize it works for any game. I found out when I was checking the Bestbuy site to see if they had any time cards in stock yet.

Now I can go grab one tonight and finally play the game again.....

I could have sworn that I heard somewhere that those gamecards were offered for a slightly lower price than the normal subscription price. Is this still the case or could that have just been a special?

Must have been some kind of special. Time cards always cost the same as the most expensive billing option.'Cause when you pay in bulk and get a year at a time you get a price break, but even if you buy a year's worth of time cards it's still that $15 a month.

Sometimes you can find a sale, with the 60-day cards going for as low as $15, which is like a free month of play. But at full price, the doubles are usually $30 ($29.95 or so), and the single month ones are $15-$20. What I've found people tend to do is wait for a sale and grab a few cards at a time. If you end up not using them, you can always sell them back and can even make a profit.
Auto Assault just had a huge sale on the "Auto Assault" time cards a few months back, going for even $10 a pop. Those were gone before I had even heard about the sale...

Not always. You can find online sellers that sell them for less including shipping and handling. You just have to look.

Oddly, at my local CompUSA there were plenty of the CoX 2 month cards, just not on shelves, the guy who sold it though said they were less popular then they use to be. (hinting that there wouldn't be any more CoX ones.....)
