Has anyone here tried out the Splinter Weapon Variant for BPs in ToPK? Seriously nice! I'll post up a pic of how I have the build config'd, but i wanted to know for now if anyone's done it.

Doesn't splinter weapon only work for your next 4 attacks tho? I was trying out variations with Barrage and I couldn't find a feasible build with Rt secondary.
I'd love to see what you've come up with.

Perhaps swap out the Order Necro for a Splinter rit, he can also use ancestor's rage etc on your pets for big aoe damage :)

I regards to swapping out the orders necro for splinter weapons, don't you lose some of the healing that OoV provides. Not a big tombs guy (just got my spider so haven't tried it yet) but just what I was thinking.
*edit*
looked up splinter weapon and see that it would act as a healing agent but it would be difficult for the necro to keep it on everyone whereas OoV is very easily maintained.

easy, just go Rt/R for more dmg with splinter and 5 attacks instead of 4, i have tried both and Rt/R works better then R/Rt (imo)

If you go RT/R don't you lose the benifit of both the higher armor for a ranger and the points in expertise. Like I said above haven't done tombs with a ranger but seems to me the lose of armor and expertise would greatly outwiegh the 1 more attack from splinter weapon.

Armor rating isn't as big of an issue as it first seems. Usually the minions and your pets pick up the aggro and keep it.

what about energy management?
although a rt has 4 energy pip it still aint enough to spamm barrage whereas a ranger can almost spamm barrage due to expertise which also helps using interrupt skills
next 4 hits of splinter weapon is enough depending on how close the group of enemies to each other are. the nex problem for a r/rt would be rez. although you can use flesh of my flesh, rebirth is still better for rezzing allies which are near enemies.
you cant replace an order because of OoV which is the source of healing for barragers and also a good source of nergy due to br... OoV=>heal party=>OoP is also a very nice heal+dmg combo

if your unsure about it, just try it (its as simple as that). Ive tried both and prefer the Rt/R.

r/rt res:
death pact signet, surely the best res in the game ^^
flesh of my flesh, out of battle res, inferior to death pact out of battle
res sig, meh, what can you say, good combat res, but one use only
sunspear res sig, better than rebirth if you forget its one use only, at which point you have to think, "if i needed a res, the person I res may be prone to deaths in the future (n00bs, idiots, ect.) and will now have death penalty so will be easier for enemies to kill"
I'd stick with what I know and thats rebirth on r/mo's, or death pact signet, and rebirth on order, mm and monk. This provides at least a 3/8 chance that a survivor of a near wipe has rebirth, and the party can start over. Otherwise, if its the rangers who escape, the ressed character has to be quick to get away (running boosts maybe?) and try not to aggro the mob that caused to deaths.

well how about having 5 R/Mo's, 1 Rt/Me, 1 MM, 1 SS, and 1 WoH monk ... I think that could work real nicely, splitner and ss at the same time. and the Rt just keeps echoing Splitner weapon and going around the circle ... also there are mesmer skills to get back energy, so that could also be dealt with :) I think that could work pretty well.
