ummm i really like my 60 mage... u think i shuld roll one again except a gnome or sumtin if i do wut professions shuld i do.

you should really roll something new. for me it makes no sense to make 2 of the same type of charactors. but if you are dead set on making the same type go with the opposing faction or even put it on a different server.

It's always good to have two different types of characters to choose from. What gets me every once in a while is that I only have one high level character, so if there is no need for another caster or Warlock specifically, I can get left out of even guild teams.
I'd stay on the same server and faction too. You cannot transfer materials from Alliance to Horde, or server to server. Unless your character in game is independently wealthy, and gold is no issue for you, I would roll up a character and give it tradeskills to enhance your current main.
For me, my main is Herb/Alch. For my transmutes I need gemstones. So my primary alt is coming up as a Mining/Jewelcrafting. Once I get it leveled up, I can get the stones to make the meta gems with my main, then send it back to my alt to cut them. Gems are one of my biggest expenses in my gear right now, and once it's leveled, my Alt will also have a marketable skill selling cut stones.
Think about what you current main's professions are, then choose something to reduce the cost of materials that you cannot get with their professions.

k i have a 60 mage a 10 hunter and im about to make a shammy but i guess wut ill do is tailoring and mining for my Hunter then blacksmithing and jewelcrafting for my shaman.
But how does herbalism or alchemy do anything with gems

Back on topic though, I say, Blood Elf Mage, Tailoring and Enchanting. BE's get the Enchanting bonus which is nice to start with.
