one thing i would like gw to have is that when ur in a town or somthing u can have ur weapon straped to ur side or on ur back or soething depeneding on the weapon ur useing
becuse since u can see mini pets in town y not be able to see ur weapons
people like to show off there minis so y not be able to show off ur weapon and stuff
what do u guys thing about this and if u would add somethings u would like to see change about gw

I personally think the whole minipet idea was a pointless lag enducer. Havings weapons out and the like...WELCOME TO LAG CENTRAL!(also people would get the chance to gloat about how much better their weapons are compared to yours.) For things I would change...well I still stick by the oppinions I ahve expressed in previous threads I have made.
Quit nerfing stuff(unnerf certain things)
Stop adding pointless things
Make rare items rare(again)
Make it so you can have only 1 hero at a time at all times(and get rid of necessary hero's in missions).
Give incentive for making a real human team.

Finnaly, someone who agree's w/me. Those damn hero's are more annoying than henchies, cause hero's are BETTER then henchies.

I disagree. I am a solitary gamer and play GW by myself with heros and hench. I have always done this unless someone I have met in towns/gameamp/guild needs help then I will joint heir group. Beyond that I am by myself so heros really help.
Now having a req hero in a mission that I can agree with.
There are times I do go into PUG's but rarely.

One thing I've heard a lot recently is people wanting a /faction command to see who has faction without the need to go to ToA. It would be easy to set up as well...ANet could just hard code it to always say 'Europe'! :p

Since I dont think anet can afford to make an entire human team smarter...I doubt the 2nd one will happen.
As for the first, I would quit if anet did that.....Guild groups are different, but every time I joined a random group for a mission or quest, I have realized that I have about 1/5th of the chance of finishing the mission or quest, compared to if I do it with hero/hench.
I suspect that in hard mode, there will be no such thing as PuG, the only way it will be possible is either with guild groups(or other fully-planned groups), or hero/hench.
Sorry, but the Hero AI far surpasses most of the players in random groups, its just not worth the time to try something 5 times and fail, as opposed to doing it once with hero's/hench and completing it. Also, I dont have to listen to whining, and no one complains if I mess up w/ hero/hench..
EDIT: Forgot to say, aside from the wasted time of failing the mission/quest, you also waste time trying to get a group together.

they should have a hair dresser bcuz my warrior has an idiot mohawk and it looks stupid :P(i made that warrior for fun but suddenly he became my most played char:P)
Ohyeah BTw it wasnt my means to insult other warriors with mohawk i just think it look stupid on mine :P

- Maybe a styling-npc to change your look for some gold of course
- An added function for the weapon smith to engrave your weapon/offhand (Only once a year), so u got something rare and special too, without farming in DoA to get a tormented, lol

i really like the hero limit atm because i have been on many missions with pugs and somone says somthing fights break out and leavers.i did gylala hatchery at least 10 tims with pug,failed,when i did it with henchies i got masters after a few attaempts,pugs usually have a fight or leave thats basically it,but there are lucky times when ye pwn.

Unsuccesful pugs and actually doing the game with other players was what made this game fun(at least for me). You would still be able to hench things(I mean I beat factions with almost nothing but hench save shiro and the nephui quarter mission along with the thing with kunnie). It was easy. So if soloing is your things then go for it. It may be a little harder at some times but it's never impossible.(thk and hells precipice along with the gates of madness are fully henchable). You can stil use one helpful hero but 3 seems to be a bit much...oh and in HA that's retarded you can still have 3 heroe's per person. Hell I thought the game was more fun playing alone with henchies. You get a real feel for the game and your ability to think outside of the box get's better.

Anet spoke of that problem in a interview in a magazine. They say that they will create companions in GW 2 who dont take in a party member slot, so you can play w/ other players and train your companions...
So that prob will be fixed

Man, I henched everything before there were heroes. The best thing about them is when you say 'follow me and do as I do,' they listen. When you call a target, they attack it. When you say 'Don't rush,' they don't. When you ask if they have a good build, the answer is always yes. I did actually used to PUG most of the main missions in Prophecies, but I stopped some time in factions. And most times when I try them in Nightfall they are terrible. I personally would rather them allow me to have a full team of heroes.

See, I like the 3-hero system, but the companion system for GW2 doesnt sound bad at all. Everyone can still have a companion to offset their character's flaws(such as a warrior with a monk companion to heal him). But, those who dont want a companion, get a boost to keep them even with those who have companions. Its a win-win, question is how much wil the boost be, for example, a warrior with a monk companion vs a warrior w/o a companion, will the one without the companion heal like 50 health each time he hits or something?
That we dont know, but it sounds like Anet is trying to cater to those who want "hero's" and those who dont, at the same time.

I personally would like the companion system better... becuz I dont play GW only for the missions and the new armors... I play it too for the party members who make missions fun... thats why i simply hate heroes, every1 goes alone...

You had me so confused until I realised you meant Favor and not faction... xD
They've put Statues all over Tyria in most major outposts and some in explorable areas to let you know when favor is had and not.
It used to tell you every time you logged in then you could keep track after that (just like the guild message). I wonder what happened to that.
And it's only Europe until the ungodly hours of the night... and only because all the good American HoH teams disbanded a while ago. BAck inthe day it was America all the time. We're just letting Europe have a turn :P.
Personally would like EoE to be useful again. With the implimentation of Shelter, Union, and a bunch of other Rt skills there are ways to defeat it, and it wasn't that powerful in the first place.

I'm sorry but I'm gonna have to agrue with this one. I don't agree with alot off your views, especially the lagg created by minipet(???).
1) The nerfing: I don't know why everybody complains, aren't their still enuf builds/area.
2) Pointless stuff: I would never want to give in my Whiptail Devourer, even though I never let him out( or feed him!)
3) Rare Items: their are still enuf greens worth +20k, and isn't in other MMO's to that ONE run gives the big bucks?!
4) Heroes/Henchmen: This I agree with, and will be done in GW2
5) Bonus for player parties: Another point off agreement and proposal too, in Lord of the Rings:Online you can use Fellowship Skills. These Skills are only avaible when you team up. For instance a Necromancer and Ritualist will gives a special bonus for Minnion and Spirits ( or something like it).

I can feel the lag. 3 months ago before the update my fios connection ran smoothly and perfect. Now with this update I lag a very noticable amount.

They have lot's of builds but they have nerfed a considerable amount as well. Really fun builds. Really fun builds that not alot of people were complainign abotu until they went away.

I'm not talking about 20k+ dude. Oh and greens are easy to get for the most part. What about other mmo's and big bucks? I'm confuzzled. By "rare stuff" I mean brute swords,sephis axes,magmas sheilds, and mursaat weapons(to a much lesser extent). Due to how common they are now there price has shot down and everyoen has one. That blows considering I invested an enormous amount of money in some perfect versions thinking they would keep their value. I mena why would they throw brute swords everywhere? Then nightfall comes out and I step on one as soon as I walk off the ship.
Oh and another thing. Get rid of these blasted inscriptions! At least for stuff you get in regular pve(hoh inscriptions is actually a good idea beacuse you can tell you got the rare swag from there instead of soemwhere else saving tiem for peopel who lie abotu farming spots). Nothing kicked the economy in the crotch like inscriptions.

Here's what I'd like:
Stealthy Asassins; I hate having to Shadow Step. Wouldn't you just like to sneak up and slit someones throat >: )
Make new levels only obtainable by quests; this gives more power to advanced players, but doesn't automatically grant those with over 1 million XP those levels.
Make high-end quest rewards worth something; I hate getting XP for quests, because I don't need it!
I have another idea for the hero thing: Make it so that you have to have at least one henchman/player for each hero. This means that you could still have henchie/hero teams, and you'd get with more real people in DoA and the like.

while i realize most pugs are unseccesful (spelling?), I still prefer to do missions w/ human players, though for most quests I do prefer henchies/hero's (so the bit about limiting the hero's i do sort of disagree w/ at least for most things),

mkay, you posted just before i did, so I'm just going to create a new post to describe your rant.
1. assume you got the stealth thing from wow(and it is fun, I do have a rouge in wow) I actually like the shadow stepping thing, but I liked it better before they changed it(CHANGE, not NURFED)
2. New lvls, make them asthetic and have no purpose for them and I'm all for it
3. Yeah, 1 point I agree fully w/you upon
4. wouldn't work, it would be too hard to set up a system to do that. besides, somethimes you just need 1 more hero/henchie to round out the party, and if it was implemented it would screw around w/ the gameplay, imo

I completly agree without a doubt, especially the assassin idea. y r assassins so visable they shud be unable to be seen until they attack, and when they stop tehy cant be seen(but only in dark areas). also I 100000% agree with the exp thing, if im at the gate of madness something tells me im at the max level xD.

I did that as well, I only PUG'd the ''hardest'' missions.
IMO PUG's seem to be getting worse, so I either try for hero/henchie teams or guild groups

Actually I think a level increase is in the making anyway(gw 2 not gw 1). Lvl 30 would make me happy. It kidna sucks there is no way to make your character better after 20. 30 would stil lgive you plenty of lvling without making it rediculous.(ie 100+)

Id also like to see profession combonation skills
examples:
w/n: Sacraficing slash: sacrafice 10% of health, deal +40 damage, and target foe suffers bleeding for 15 seconds.
E/N: Lightning Golem(elite): Summon 1 level 22 lightning golem(basically a flesh golem except no corpse required), when lightning golem dies all foes in the area r blinded for 10 seconds.
W/Mo Holy shield(elite): for 15 seconds all damage against is reduced by 10 and all dark damage against u heals u instead.
W/R Beastly roar: shout. For 10 seconds you and your animal companion deal +7 damage and knock down foes below 20% health.
N/E Flaming dead(elite): All foes nearby any minion, takes 50 fire damage(per nearby minion), and suffers from burning for 5 seconds. all minions lose 70% of their max health
R/A Shadow shot: shoot a shadow arrow at target foe. This arrow cannot be blocked and deals +30 damage
W/P "I'm Going to smash"(elite reqs hammer): You deal +15 damage for each ally in shout range(max 80 damage).
These r just sum examples i was kinda having ot much fun so i kept going :)

Maybe they could inventa skill fusion system. So you cna make your own combo skills.

Another good Idea, lol.....make it where you can combine 2 normal skills to create an elite skill that does the same thing as the normal skills, and maybe averages the energy/adren cost, as well as the recharge and cast of the 2 normal skills to create those values for the elite. That would be much like how Crippling Slash is.....5 adren, effect of both sever artery and hamstring, but put into 1 skill.
They would have to limit it to normal skills, cause even with weakening the effects of 2 combined elites, it could be overpowered if you could combine elites.

Another good Idea, lol.....make it where you can combine 2 normal skills to create an elite skill that does the same thing as the normal skills, and maybe averages the energy/adren cost, as well as the recharge and cast of the 2 normal skills to create those values for the elite. That would be much like how Crippling Slash is.....5 adren, effect of both sever artery and hamstring, but put into 1 skill.
They would have to limit it to normal skills, cause even with weakening the effects of 2 combined elites, it could be overpowered if you could combine elites. |
Well the elite thing is a given. But yes combining basic skilsl could make for hundred of of thousands of builds(ecspecially if you combine it with the idea of combined class skills). Also they would need ta make it so that certain skills(like meteor shower) can't be synthesised either.
