Welcome to GameAmp!
This is an amazing build for a Controller that likes holds. By the time you hit 30, you'll be able to lock down a full room and still support the team with damage and isolated heals. My suggestion is to spend the most time on the Earth side of the house. Make sure you get Quicksand, Earthquake, Stalagmites, etc. When combined with Freezing Rain and Lightning Storm (after 38 of course), you'll be incredible. Don't forget to invest in Steamy Mist to avoid as much aggro as possible. You'll also want to work toward Stamina in the Fitness Pool as quickly as possible. Good luck, and have fun.

P.S. - If I messed up some of the power names, I apologize. I didn't have time to reference correct titles because I'm at work.

Well...You'll be a great asset to a team. However, you won't be much for soloing. The problem is that your damage output is incredibly low. You might last a while, but you'll definitely need a damage dealer to end most fights. Either way, it's still a blast in PvE.

I hate to disagree with you, Jersey, but that's a bad trade. Quicksand is one of the key elements to the uber hold that this set is capable of executing. It might be nice to have both powers, but I've never found Snow Storm to be as useful. It's also a bit of a pain because of the endurance drain.
Here's the hold chain that can lock down an entire room: Quicksand-Earthquake-Volcanic Gases-Freezing Rain-Stalagmites-Lightning Storm. Stones Cages can be thrown in to catch any stragglers. As long as you keep the group in your AoE range (and slot properly), you should be able to keep them busy while the rest of your team destroys the baddies.
That being said, "to each his own" still rings true.

Which is great on paper, but not as useful as Quicksand in a fight. Quicksand allows you to create a barrier between your team and the enemy. Place it in the front of a mob, and they won't have a chance to get to any of the ranged heroes (Blasters, Defenders, Controllers). Plus, movement is slowed to allow Tankers to control aggro and Scrappers to shred baddies. Another great aspect is that the AoE is large, so you can place two other AoEs on the outskirts (Earthquake and Freezing Rain) and continue to maintain a firm hold on your targets. Also, negative recharge is a nice addition, but if you're a good Controller, they won't have the opportunity to attack in the first place.
Again, I'll reiterate that each player has his/her own style. Just running down some high points and strategies for Quicksand.

jeeze jersey, you are full of piss and vinegar, but probably more of the prior.
I'm gonna have to agree with Mally Pants on this one. quicksand really is a great power to take. it lowers defense and i think it might also recharge because it's a slow power too.

OK OK...I get it..actualy I GOT it, now level 9 and have Quick Sand, almost level 10. BTW I took Aid Other, and O2 Boost to keep my team healed as best I can. In case we have no Defenders. I plan on getting Resurect also, but should I get Air Supeiriority as my Flight pre-power so I can at least try and finish off my foes in solo, or Hover for the Defence.
Also, planed on getting TP Friend.

Honestly, if you can handle Super Speed, it's the best Controller travel power. It allows you to pick up Hasten as a pre-requisite. Once you're in the later levels (high 20s to mid 30s), you can slot it almost perma. This will allow you to have a much better recharge for all of your powers.

Interseting thought, although I realy dont have problems with powers not up for use, cause I have them in a chain and I dont even have timer-enhances on them, and I do just fine. But in solo it would sap my end real fast at this low of a level right?
Also I just hit lvl 10.

Just don't get too caught up in getting all the pool powers to be more team friendly. Earth/Storm has alot of powers you are gonna want, and you'll miss out if you start picking up things like recall friend or the medicine pool. Most of the debuffs from both sets due plenty to aid your team, trust me, I 've seen it in action alot. Just some food for thought.

I had the same problem with my bubble/psy defender, having too many choices that i wanted to get and not enough slots for them with a power pool. I decided that the temp ones from safeguards, raptor pack and zero-g pack, can last a really long time as travel powers. I didnt get mine until lvl 26 i think, and i still had about an hour left of time on the zero-g pack, i never got the raptor one. i got the pre-req. at like lvl 22, when nothing new is unlocked. Just as a reminder, those things last a while.

My level 36 Earth/Strom troller "Nature's Power" is the best controlling controller I have made. I have made practically every controller combo you can make. In my opinion, this is the controller's troller. Quicksand is awesome power, Snowstorm is great too. With Quicksand, Snowstorm, earthquake, Freezing Rain, and Volcanic gas going all at the same time, you WILL be controlling and de-buffing a mob. And that is not even including your other earth hold powers. GET STALAGMITES !!!! This power can be a life saver. It disorients a mob and allows you to do whatever you want to do, to the mob.
Definantly work on your earth powers first. At level 36, out of the storm powers, I only have Gale, Snowstorm, Steamy Mist, and I just got Hurricane at level 35.
Also, get range increases on your earthquake, volcanic gasses, quicksand and freezing rain. It will help greatly. You will also want recharge on volcanic gasses. When I get home later, I will post my build that I have up to level 36 with slot information as well. This build has been great for me.
Now, I have made my controller a control oriented hero. I do not have o2 boost yet. I will get it later, but that is not what this character was built for. I only have 2 pool power pools also. Fitness and Jumping.
But for anyone who wants a crowd control moster, this combo is a GREAT combo.

WOW! I guess this a great Troller Choise. Glad I dont have to keep expeirementing...LOL!
I realy like him. Hes lvl 10 right now on Gaurdiean server, his name is "Tesla Mark-1". hes a litle robo guy with magical powers.
I've heard alot of debate about Snow-Storm vs. Quicksand, but I chose Quick sand because it's less of an Endurance drain. seems to work well and currently I can throw 2 of them over laping to cover a larg area of effect. Along with gale and Stone Cages my SG mates love him. We made it alth way from Atlas Park sewers to Skyway City sewer exit with no Defender for heals.
All and all he seems like a winner. I realy cant wait to get Earth Quake + Volcanic Gasses + Tornado + Light ning Storm + Animate Stone. the all seem like alot of fun.
I may have to respec out of Aid other though.
BTW...Nice Olivia cutt on the right Jersey!

OK, here is my build. Unfortunately it is not in total order, because I did a resepec at 26. But it will show how I have built him so far.
Stone Control Powers:
Stone Prison - 1 accuracy / 1 range / 2 immobilize / 1 end reduc.
Fossilize - 1 accuracy / 2 Hold / 1 recharge / 1 end reduc
Stone Cages - 1 accuracy / 2 immobilize / 1 end reduc
Quicksand - 1 recharge / 1 range / 1 slow
Stalagmites - 1 accuracy / 1 stun / 1 range / 1 recharge
Vocanic Gasses - 3 recharge / 1 accuracy (extremely long recharge time) I believe this has 1 range. I think I forgot to write it down. If not, it will have possibly 2.
Earthquake - 1 recharge / 1 Defense De-buff / 2 range (very short range)
Animate Stone - 1 disorient / 2 damage / 1 accuracy
Storm Powers:
Gale - 1 accuracy (hate this power)
Snow Storm - 2 end reduc / 2 slow
Steamy Mist - 1 damage resist / 2 defense / 1 end reduc
Hurricane - 1 end reduc / 1 To Hit de-buff
Leaping:
Combat Jumping - 3 defense
Super Jump - 2 Jump
Acrobatics - 1 end reduc
Fitness:
swift - 1 run
Health - 1 heal
Stamina - 3 end modification
*All enhancments are at 35 or 35+ Mutant SOs
On a foot note. I have found Quicksand a much more useful power than Snow storm. Snow storm is great slow de-buff power, if you have someone holding the agro for you, because you get instant agro with this. Where as quicksand can be put where you want it as a defense or as a slow de-buff power. With these two powers together on a mob, huh..... go get a drink and then come back to get em.... lol lol
