When on earth did Antalus become a 1v1 map? I'm kinda new to 1v1, admittedly, but I've never even seen this map played before as 1v1, let alone been able to find demos for it played like that.
Anyway - I have to play that for TWL 1v1; anyone have suggestions for an onslaught noob trying DM? :-D

It was quite popular for 1v1 in 2k3 due to amp being used.
Once amp was turned off, it pretty much became worthless for 1v1.

TWL still plays AMP on for 1v1, so I suppose that'll still be a factor then.

They are working on changing that IIRC (which they need to), and IIRC if you agree with your oponent about amp off, it can be.
If I was you I'd contact him about amp on/off and then practice it the way you are going to have to play it.

Practice using the terrain to your advantage. What I mean by this is learn all the spots you can dodge jump into to scale the terrain & slide up to higher ground. Stay on the high ground as much as possible. IMO this is the #1 techniques you can master on this map, next to timing the powerups & fragging your opponent.

Amen :( You and I had some good matches in 2k3 on ant.
It's not enough to succeed, others must fail.

EARLY in 2k4 when amp was still used Antalus was my best/favorite 1v1 map.
I was glad they took amp from 1v1 in general I guess, but it killed Ant and that made sexual harassment panda sad =(.
