| necro elm or necro monk build ?? |
|
|
|
K I just restarted another necro and want some help on the build... I want him to be 12 blood or 12 death necro and elm secondary fire (dmg), earth (knock down- armor), or water.
In PVP I made one with 12 blood and 12 fire.
Life Transfer
Life Siphon
Mark of Rodgort
Inferno
Lava Font
Fire Storm
Meteor Shower
Fire Attunement
he worked well on most of the opponents but not quite good enough cuz I can only out last 1 good opponent before I die from his buddy. (unless there are many in a area)
Im trying to set this up for my PVE necro
i was also thinking of doing a necro healer - smiter monk but have no idea how i should work it... i play manly with my wife whos a mes ranger. (an some how she makes it work realy well)

i dont think...that there is a deceent build using both of these attributes...i think it owuld be best to focus on fire if you are an ele and death if you are a necro :)
i cant think of anything cool to say that would be alright with the forum

A good combo would be:
Soul Reaping: 16
Element of your choice: 12
Reaper's Mark
Signet of Lost Souls
Rez
5 higher energy skills.
Recommended: Air Spike, you're already causing awesome degen on a target, use Lightning Hammer, Lightning Orb, etc.
But as for Death/Fire, there really isn't much that gives you a good advantage. Both are energy intensive and neither offer good e-management, as Glowing Gaze really isn't that great at 12 Fire.

A common(ish) N/E build is a half warder, often its tainted flesh with a few wards, or spoil victor often works well too

I run what I call a "mosquito" build. My N/Ele was one of my first characters, and it is a bit disheartening reading people say that it isn't a good combo.
Plucked a heart string on me, guys.
Now, for the build:
Blood:16
Earth:10
Curses:rest
This was the most basic variant, and I created many others off of it (i'll go over those later)
The purpose of the mosquito build was to stay safe from most damage whilst sucking hp from enemies.
I found it was a slow, surefire way to take out foes. I could stay alive while the rest of the party was dead and finish the fight to rez the party. It's amazing what you can do with it given some time and practice.
Skills:
Life Siphon
Armor of Earth
(I'm sure there are better skills for this in Nightfall and GW:EN, but my necro has yet to master Elona.)
Parasitic Bond
Kinetic Armor
*Well of Power*(elite)
Awaken the Blood(optional)
Glyph of elemental power/lesser energy
Blood Bond / rez
This was the first I was able to put together.
I don't know what campaign you're doing, but Prophecies has some great Necro skills.
I'm so sorry, I don't have time to give the details on the other builds, but I WILL give you a list of very useful skills you can put to use.
note: here is the quick rundown on a neat little toucher.
Attributes:
Earth:rest
Blood:16
Kinetic Armor
*Vampiric Spirit*/*Offering of Blood*
Strip Enchantment
Touch of Agony
Wallow's Bite
Blood Pact
Blood Renewal
Rez
I don't suggest attempting to mix Elementalist's damage dealing with Necromancer's varied skills. Unless you plan to use Offering of Blood in a serious manner, it can lead to issue. I've only found one combo worthwhile, and it is the earth Magic's DEFENCE mixed with whatever necro abilities you need.
Go experiment, as it can lead to some very useful mixes. It may seem weak initially, but later through the game, the mix becomes very powerful.
The hardest part becomes convincing people in your party that you're not crazy. :p
WE SHOULD NOT SHED TEARS,
THAT IS A SURRENDER oF THE BODy TO THE HEART,
IT IS ONLY PROOF,
THAT WE ARE BEINGS THAT DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH OUR HEARTS...

imo if you use your secondary profession's skills intensively, you should find a way to make them synergize well with your primary attribute. otherwise you might end up with a subpar character.
let's take your fire/blood template, i'm sure a e/n with the exact same skills would do much better, since all the main offensive spells will benefits from runes, while losing a few seconds on life drain hexes.
there are no bad profession combos, however there are definitely bad skill templates.
so either stick to e.g. fire spells and find a way to make good use of soul reaping, or rely on necro spells for offence and ele stuff for defense and such.
Nihzu Fleshmonger - N/Me (Usually SS/echo)
Nihjin Uro - N/A (Gotta love the tag ;D)
Nihzu Goreweaver - N (Pre-Searing only)
Nihm Baalh - N/P (Spear throwing voodoo madman)
Cadavre Cannibale - N/W (Experimenting)
Hrafnulfr Tyr - R/W
Nihto Uro - A/N (Nihjin's lil bro)
Chikushou Kisama - Mo/E (R.I.P. Survivor title)
Nihdel Baalh - D/Rt (That's the plan anyway...)
Yes I curse a lot...

I use necro elm, i love it, as everytime i kill something or use a spell i get energy, i love using spell cobos like glype of lesser energy, metror shower/ fire storm , deathly swarm as it give fast damage. i also like using glype of lesser energy then life draning spells(plz mind the spelling)
Hope that helps.

No so nice comment.. let's just say those attributes are for noobs and making a build with those points is impossible.

Stop now. This will never work. Every Necro who tried something similar to this has been slaughtered in any form of pvp I encounter them.
Just focus on necro skills if your a necro and ele skills if your an ele. That's the best way to go.

in pve, which your going for,if people read properly, actually, using the right skills together, a necro ele could work quite well. minion master combined with an air/earth knock down skills or a ward would maximise your minions effectiveness and help them avoid taking damage.
just take a look at what primary skills you want to use, then look through the list at what secondary would go well with it, instead of just going with the supposed belief that the only secondary you can hae with a necro is monk or mesmer. its good to see people trying something different instead of going sheep-like with the masses.

A necro with no points in soul reaping is a waste. I am not saying don't make a N/E but make sure you are able to put at least 8-9 points in SR.
Also I take it by PvP build you mean RA becuase without having a basic understanding of how you want this particular build to work the the other 3/7 players we couldn't possibly make any good suggestions
So far I think the reapers mark/airspike could be a possibility. I will have to play around with the idea but again Necros have the ability to deal a lot of health stealing damage which is also armor ignoringso spreading your attributes think might not be the best solution
The true test of any technology is its ability to obtain porn.

/agree, forget N/E, the only benefit would be the Energy Storage skills, and that's a primary attrib for Ele you won't be able to put any points in.
Try the N/Mo Spoil Victor & Protective Spirit - Blood combo for something different.

For PvE the only thing I can think of that actually improves anything is running mark of rodgort and having a minion master. Thne bringing a hero with conflagration (or greater conflagration) so that your minions make things burn.
That said I still don't think an N/E with an actual focus on ele skills would be as effective as a pure necro with secondary proffesion skills as second thoughts.
