Hey all,
I made a nelf hunter 2 days ago, im now level 11 and have done all the pet training and stuff so iwent out looking for my first pet!
I got a cat, but went afk for 30 mins and when i came back i had been logged off and my pet had left me :'(
So i then went running around looking for a new pet to call my own. I came across a 'Giant Webwood Spider' and after making sure i can get it, i went up and started to catch it. It all went to plan and i got my new spider! Yay i thought, ive got a giant spider ... but no, as soon as i got it, it shrunk to normal size :@
I only wanted a spider cos it was huge, but now it isnt...
So i was just wondering why this happened?

Youre pet can only be so big :)
You cant really have a dwarf with a kodo ;) Even though you cant tame them anyway, but im sure you get the point

All pets grow as your level does, so don't worry, it will most probably be the size you tamed it at like 30 or so.

Anyway that makes sense that they grow as they level...why dont we grow as we level? Imagine a 10 ft gnome stomping on little tiny level 1s lmao....hahaha...ok anyway...

OK now i have a new problem (i think anyways)...
I got rid of the spider cause the only reason i got it is for its size, and i didnt want to wate to get a giant spider, so i got a 'Moonstalker Runt' and i like it quite a bit now.
The only thing is that its not getting any xp! It loyalty is going up and its training points are going up (went from -8 to 3) .. but no xp at all!
I dont know if its something im doing wrong, but its just not getting any xp. i keep feeding it and letting it fight, but nothing :(
Any help? Also, are there any guides floating around for pets and how to look after them? I had a search here but couldnt find one :/

Your pet can only level as soon as you are +1 level than it.
So if you tamed a level 6 for example Moonstalker Runt thingy, and you were level 11, it would get XP until level 11, until you turned level 12, then it would get XP to turn to level 12... and so on and so forth.
:)

Well if gnomes grew to 10 foot, roughly 5 tiem their natural size imagin the trolls and tauren, they would be around 40 foot, roughly 5 time their natural size...
Now your just looking at giant wars

Having the pet shrink is a good thing. Imagine being in a party with a large pet and having it's size constantly obscure your view of the mob. Anf if your in a room.... impossible. Half the fun of fighting is seeing the fight. Visually it might be cool but not practical.

Hello,
Ya that is a good site for info on pets, I just started a hunter myself, I have echeeyake and humar as pets - since they changed the attack speed, now the only thing that matters is the type of damage they do, what kind of pet they are (tank, dps), and looks and I go for LOOKS!!! lol

Yup, can't say enough great things about Petopia...it's got all the info you'll ever need.
If you're a nelf and into cats, you might want to consider the Ghost Saber when you get into the early 20's. They keep their semi-transparency, and if you teach them Prowl on top of that they are practically invisible. :)

I'm not an experienced Hunter, but I think I can answer this one. Have your pet out, and open your spell book. I believe there is a tab for your pet at the bottom. After clicking that tab, you should be able to drag and drop it's attacks just like you do your own.
And on a side note. I just snagged the Black Lion Humar the other day on my Hunter. He looks pretty darn coolio IMHO. I know since they leveled the pet stats the search for the uniques has dwindled, but Humar actually got an improvement when they did it. So he starts out with better stats than he used to.

Humar is the nicest looking pet imo, but he eats way too much.

Yeah, probably. But it's hard to notice because I feed my Hunter meats over his skill level and I can get him happy very fast with just a couple chunks. I don't play this character much because he's more of a Nostalgia Alt. To be honest, sometimes I like the fact that he's a hog...... I need the bag space >^__^<
Trebor, you been on yet and had a chance to correct your pet's attack bar? One other thing that can help is to go into your settings and lock your action bars. It will allow you to drag stuff in, but you have to Shift+Drag to remove/move stuff on the bar. I used to get overly excited at times and drag stuff outta my bar in the middle of a fight till I set that.
